The location of the Running P Ranch is convenient to both park entrances and an ideal place to unwind. We filled out the paper work and she told me I had use of the place for the entire day, so my event time didn't really matter. I put down my event time was until 4. They sent me a letter refusing to return any of the $300 deposit I paid because I went over the time of 4pm. (And because they say I didn't sweep and mop, I did sweep). If my event ended at 4, how would I break down and clean and be out by 4. But that didn't matter because she told me I had all day. I feel like this is a scam to keep the deposit. Additionally when I paid for the use, she did not tell me that they charge a credit card fee for using my credit card. If I had known they were going to charge an extra $24, I would have paid in cash. I didn't know until after she already charged my card. The place itself was just ok, old looking, could use some updating and fresh coat of paint. Not worth the price, and I was told it included the use of tv displays but no one could show me how to use it the day of my event, so it really wasn't included.

The venue has an old Victorian type style to it. Plenty of shade for those hot summer events. The area for the wedding is a short walk from the reception area. They have a bar and very nice bathroom area. It is hard to find a problem with this venue. You do have to drive over a narrow bridge that might stress some drivers. They include so much including the furniture and lighting, and we got a good deal on the dance floor. We chose this venue because it encompasses what we love about Visalia, with the greenery and the oak trees. Many of my guests have commented on how beautiful it was and thought it was very unique. The only concerns were regarding the bridge getting to the venue, but we did not have problems with it, and with getting our rentals out the night of the wedding, but it was easy to coordinate. The food was amazing, as we expected from Fugazzis. From the time of our tasting, we knew the food was going to be good. We had ample choices for our appetizers, the entree options were delicious and plentiful, the desserts were really good, and the late night tacos were a huge hit for our guests. Silvia was so helpful in planning the day. From coordinating with my vendors, to answering all of our questions, she helped the day go smoothly. The ceremony itself…read morewas held in a small clearing in Heartwood forest and then you walk down a short distance where the cocktail hour/dinner area is set up. Even though it is extremely hot in Oakhurst, the venue, being in a wooded forest, is a very comfortable temperature, not too hot and you don't need a jacket at all, even at night. It is a bit of a pain to get to though - you have to drive up a winding mountain for about 20 minutes coming from Oakhurst so if you are planning on drinking at the event, make sure you either have a DD because coming back down that same road at night with no street lights and while under the influence can be dangerous. The venue itself was a bit confusing for us to navigate. We had to ask people passing by for directions on where to go but we eventually got to where we needed. It is also quite dusty so be prepared to have your shoes and the bottom of your outfits covered with dirt. And being up in the middle of a mountain, be prepared for no/poor reception.
