Every single guest that I spoke with was in awe of what has been done with the property. The owner has an amazing gift at using the beauty of floral, nature and animals to make a welcoming serene place for events. The venue offers an air conditioned bridal loft. As mentioned in the previous review, unfortunately the ac was just not adequate for the heat wave we are experiencing in the Central Valley with temperatures at and over 110 degrees. We knew going in that we were in for a hot one. We just didn't expect it to be quite that hot up in the loft. To my knowledge, the owner is doing what she can to remedy the problem. To be fair, air conditioners often do quit working without notice when temperatures reach over 100 degrees. I'm giving a 5 star review because weather related problems are difficult for anyone to predict. Overall, the wedding was beautiful and the venue had a huge roll in our celebration. Cottonwood Barn will hold a special place in our hearts forever. Thank you.

They began spewing ice and that was it. The coolest room in the apartment/bride's room was 98 degrees from that point on. The rest of the room was hotter. No air flow. No cold water. Not a single place in the entire venue to escape the heat. The infrastructure couldn't handle an ice trailer that needed to be plugged in and it popped a breaker - my husband had to run it off his generator. The level of intense heat and lack of water (the fridge in the bride's room didn't work) was horrific and, frankly, a massive health risk. We were sweating out of our makeup and dresses. Unacceptable response from the venue host. who did NOTHING to fix the AC problem except tell us to close the windows and doors that were ONLY OPEN BECAUSE THE MINI-SPLITS HAD SEIZED UP AND WE NEEDED AIR FLOW. Little kids were on the brink of heat exhaustion and franikly, so were we. We spent all day chugging Liquid IV and hoping we didn't pass out. The heat was unbearable. Putting people through that kind of intense heat is a massive liability on the venue's part - INSANE. I am appalled and repulsed at the total lack of concern and infrastructure from the venue on the issue of cooling. Summer weddings should not be offered here, period. They are NOT set up for it.

When I tried to explain to him that I had canceled that appointment and rescheduled for today, he immediately cut me off and told me that I needed to listen to him now. My fiance overhead his tone of voice and immediately told him that he wasn't to speak to me in that manner. Bottom line, things happen for a reason. We were unable to tour the venue as scheduled, treated very unprofessionally by the staff, and therefore decided to look elsewhere for our wedding venue.
