Five star venue with 2 star service equals 3 stars. The truth is, someone has to let others know…read morewhat's really up. I waited to do this review until I spoke with several of my guests. I hope this review helps others be warned about a few little issues so that their wedding can be perfect. To start, my best man walks with arm crutches due to his CP. Wendy promised him that they would get him where he needed to go when he needed to go with the go cart. Awesome! right?...Wrong! They rushed him up to the hall right after the ceremony. As a result, we had to wait for him to be brought back down. Due to limited sunlight I did not get a photo with my best man. SMH... part of the cost of a photographer for a wedding is the photos of the wedding party in it's entirety after the ceremony. The appetizer bar we paid for was rushed and my wedding party didn't get any because we were doing photos. My guests later told me that they were rolling it away before even half of my guests got some. We rented the hall so our guests wouldn't be cold but it was freezing inside because the heater wasn't turned on. Most of my guest were wearing their jackets in doors almost the entire time because it was so cold In there. The chicken I myself had was dry. And to add insult to it, the mashed potatoes were instant. On a plus side, the squash risotto was amazing. I wish I could say the same about the green beans we ordered for our guest, but they were no where to be found. The Mac-n-cheese we ordered for our grand children was so dry and crusty it seemed like it was made the day before and heated up in the microwave. Which by the way was supposed to be taken down to the guest house for the kids which were there with a babysitter. My son in law was the one who had to go find out why the food had not been sent down yet and then take it to them himself. Wendy promised me there would be plenty of water, coffee, tea and condiments. There was not. In fact the entire day I personally only had one cup of coffee. The staff started removing My center pieces and chair covers from the tables while my guests were still sitting at the tables. It was 6:30 at night, dinner didn't even get started until 5:30. Glasses and plates were being taken away from the tables before my guests were finished. Right before the dollar dance, 15 or so of my guests came to me to let me know the wedding was beautiful but they were cold and the staff was clearing the tables they were at while they were sitting there, removing the center pieces, so they were leaving. I rented the hall until midnight and the DJ until 10pm. At 7pm I was on the dance floor doing the dollar dance and watching the staff clear tables and actually roll them away! That's when I lost my patience and walked off the dance floor to talk to them about it. They told me they weren't clearing tables unless the guests had already left but that is not what I had seen with my own eyes. Just because my guest got up to stand in line to wait for a dance with us doesn't mean they don't want to be able to sit down at their table when done. Wendy and Jennie looked me in the face and denied doing what I saw with my own eyes. I walked back inside and my daughter over heard Wendy and Jennie say they were gonna handle it by sending the staff home and not serving my guests anymore....and that's exactly what they did. SMH...I am very disappointed that we spent so much money on this venue to have the service we had. They said I could rent trees for the hall to make the indoors look more like the outdoors. After I already paid for the tree rentals they shoved my trees off as close to the walls as they could. The trees were a pointless expensive addition by the time Wendy got done not only moving them as much out of the way as possible but also hiding them as much as possible. She did such a good job that it's really hard to tell from any of the 1000's of photos taken that night, that I had 20 full sized trees at my reception. And finally, Wendy and Jennie are extremely nice women....until all of your non-refundable money has been paid. Once that is done, they become Very rude, short with you, express exasperation's through expressions and body language and treat your guest very rudely. If this venue and its caterer want to charge 5 star prices, then they need to give 5 star service. The venue is totally beautiful. A perfect setting for an outdoor wedding in the forest. This space is nice for any event. The presentation of the food part of this event was creative and presented well! Wish some of the entrees were served warmer or hot, some weren't even lukewarm, which made it difficult to eat. Wish there was a photo booth with props to take pictures by ,to go with the event. My wedding was relatively small- I spent months working on decor, planning etc but unfortunately the staff started to clean up and take everything down before 9:30pm (we had the venue until 10). This basically resulted in the wedding feeling very "over" when we still had a lot of time that we paid for- I would have loved to dance the rest of the night away but because everything was already cleaned up- people thought it was over. I was a distracted bride and didn't realize what was going on until almost every table was empty - the staff seemed like they were in a rush to go home. The most upsetting issue was earlier in the day, our coordinator from the venue did not communicate with my family which resulted in my grandparents sitting in the back of my wedding. I would like to emphasize we only had about 75 people, less than 10 of those were my blood family and my grandparents SAT AT THE BACK. I can't believe a venue could not handle directing the traffic of 75 people. SEVERAL of my guest approached me after the wedding to say they felt uncomfortable before the wedding from the treatment they were receiving. My wedding cake was also put out incorrectly which resulted in hideous holes on the top of my cake ( I wish I was kidding) . I am a very type B person, I tried to make this wedding as simple as possible and I was extremely let down by this venue. I won't even get into the $200 that went missing at my wedding that they didn't seem to find on camera. Simply don't get married here- take your money somewhere else. All you will get is a $100 gift card to a breakfast restaurant as an apology.

There is a small house for wedding parties to get ready. Easy access for disabled. The alter is on west side so beautiful views of sunset. This venue would work for more than weddings. We were originally going to have the ceremony outdoor at our uncles house, but it actually did rain on our wedding day and the day before, and the manager of the memorial building, Nancy, contacted the pastor of the Presbyterian Church next door for me and we were able to move our ceremony to the church last minute -- which was gorgeous. Nancy was unbelievably helpful through the entire process! Tyler was also very nice and helpful. The windows of the hall made a gorgeous view during dinner. The rain stopped early in the day and we were able to roll up the two giant doors to the amazing outdoor patio and danced all night! The hall in itself is beautiful for just being a "hall" and with some fairy lights and some other decor, it looked just as good as all the other overpriced venues -- most of which do not have an entire wall that rolls up to form the unique indoor/outdoor space. We are so thrilled to have been married in the wonderful town of Three Rivers, and we will be back every year!

They began spewing ice and that was it. The coolest room in the apartment/bride's room was 98 degrees from that point on. The rest of the room was hotter. No air flow. No cold water. Not a single place in the entire venue to escape the heat. The infrastructure couldn't handle an ice trailer that needed to be plugged in and it popped a breaker - my husband had to run it off his generator. The level of intense heat and lack of water (the fridge in the bride's room didn't work) was horrific and, frankly, a massive health risk. We were sweating out of our makeup and dresses. Unacceptable response from the venue host. who did NOTHING to fix the AC problem except tell us to close the windows and doors that were ONLY OPEN BECAUSE THE MINI-SPLITS HAD SEIZED UP AND WE NEEDED AIR FLOW. Little kids were on the brink of heat exhaustion and franikly, so were we. We spent all day chugging Liquid IV and hoping we didn't pass out. The heat was unbearable. Putting people through that kind of intense heat is a massive liability on the venue's part - INSANE. I am appalled and repulsed at the total lack of concern and infrastructure from the venue on the issue of cooling. Summer weddings should not be offered here, period. They are NOT set up for it.

One thing that took us by surprise was that despite having a complimentary open bar, guests would be charged for imported beer. During our initial meeting we were told the open bar would include bottom shelf liquor, beers, and seltzers. When asked what the beer selection would be we were told coors, michelobs, modelo, corona, lagunitas and white claws but there was no mention of additional charges for any of those items. I understand imported may be more expensive but it would have been good to know and inform our guests ahead of time rather than finding out during reception. There was a slight mixup with the cross not being setup at our ceremony location, which had been discussed multiple times prior and the day of, but they were able to get it done just before the ceremony started. (not a big deal to me but if you're a Type A bride keep in mind that things can happen.) Another thing that stuck with me was hearing the staff badmouth each other. I was waiting to be taken to the ceremony and they were bad-mouthing their peer which seemed a bit unprofessional. Later on, the staff took pictures in the photobooth, which we encouraged them to do, but only to see some were flipping off the camera. This wasn't a big deal for me but our guests had access to all of the pictures taken that night and it was brought to our attention. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone! Even on a warm summer day we were able to get a beautiful shaded location for the ceremony with a nice breeze. It was the perfect location!
