This place is fantastic! We went for the christmas event and once more since to paint more items. My daughter and wife loved the experience. The owner really knows her stuff when it comes to pottery and painting, she was quick to help us or give direction when needed. we have gone here a few times. The owner is very very hands on to the point where she takes over at times. It's nice when you need simple guidance but horrible when you have an idea and she takes over and doesn't let your vision come to life. She recommend a specific technique for a bowl I was doing awhile back and it came out terribly. After it was glazed there were bumps all over the entire piece. Same when i went back for a family event. The end result was not smooth at all, and she added marker or black paint where i did not want it to go. It would have been much better if she let me do my own work, even though I'm no artist, an offer suggestions instead of taking over. The bumps and uneven surface make both my pieces really un-usable really sad especially for what they cost read more

I painted a cupcake that was purple on top and blue on the bottom when I picked it up both the top and bottom was painted blue you can tell that she had painted over it you can see the purple color somewhat showing through and she added white polkadots. I did not give her permission to touch my painting. I'm so sad I was so excited to see my creation and now I have this ugly thing. It also came out so bumpy read more

I gave one star because it is the lowest I can give. The owner was rude and made subtle racist and homophobic comments. We were not given any instruction but we're yelled at for wasting paint and mixing colors. If you like getting yelled at you should visit this place! read more

We love Clay Cafe. It is a must-do item on my grandchildren's list every time they come to town. It's a special occasion for birthdays, or just let's go hang out days. I love going along with them and spending that one on one time in a quiet, friendly, inviting atmosphere where we have help and answers to every question we may have. I love the fact that the staff there is always coming up with new ideas and suggestions about how to make our projects look more professional or as they say "pop". We will continue to go to Clay Cafe as often as we can and one day I'll be able to go to the women's wine nights; I'm looking forward to that and only wish I had more time! read more

I love this place so much! My therapist recommended I try more calming things. I came in here not sure what to expect. The owner was so nice! She helped me and explained everything and hen I got to painting. I went by myself and had a great time. It made me forget what I was going through and actually very therapeutic. We were there during a very busy event. The staff weren't very organized. It was an even for kids and yet everyone working there seemed impatient and annoyed! The event was fun, the kids had fun, and I'd go again with a small group, or ladies night, just not to a big kids event. read more

We recently came in for a fun girls night experience, we received a night of scolding and very uncomfortable commentary from the woman hosting the event. As soon as we walked in we were scolded for arriving ten minutes late. This was the first of many times it would get brought up that we were late and the time of arrival was exaggerated. The event said we could select between a candle holder of candy dish and select our own colors. When we arrived we all had pumpkins at our table. When I asked for other colors I was told that we couldn't select our own colors because there were too many people. As the night went on we were reprimanded for small mistakes. When we asked for our glass of wine (also promised in the event page) we were told we could not have anymore wine because we had enough. Later in the night, I was told by the instructor that I could put "Chola" eyebrows on my pumpkin. The entire room fell silent. I am not nor do I resemble a "chola". I wonder if she made the same suggestion to the room full of Caucasian people or if it was only to the room with two tables full of Latin women. Either way, the experience was not what I paid for. I am really bummed too because the selection of ceramics there is really awesome and I really wanted to go back and paint but not after the way we were treated. read more
