Absolutely unacceptable level of communication. I had a procedure scheduled and was never contacted to let me know the practice was closing or that my appointment had been canceled. The only reason I found out was because I called the day before to confirm. What makes this even more frustrating is that when I previously missed an appointment, I immediately took responsibility and offered to pay any fees associated with the missed visit out of respect for the practice's time. Yet when the practice decided to close and cancel patient appointments, I received no notification whatsoever. Had I not called, I would have driven over an hour to the office, sat through traffic, rearranged my schedule, and shown up for an appointment that was never going to happen. Patients deserve the same courtesy and respect that they are expected to show their providers. I understand that businesses close, but failing to notify patients with scheduled procedures is highly unprofessional. After multiple visits and treatments at this office, I expected far better communication. Very disappointing experience. read more

Very disappointed with both the bedside manner and the outcome of my treatment. Dr. Mittelman had performed this treatment on me twice before, and I had previously been happy with both the experience and the results, which made this experience especially surprising. This appointment was hurried and chaotic (I heard him tell his assistant to take off my numbing cream because he had an appointment to get to), without the cooling support measures I had received during prior treatments, which made an already painful procedure more stressful. I am still hoping there will not be any lasting skin damage or scarring. Recovery has been far more difficult than anticipated (one month out and still significant streaking and redness), and I ultimately sought two outside opinions and continued care with another doctor. In my experience, the approach and communication style felt somewhat outdated compared to other providers I've seen. read more

I'm no stranger to reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, so believe me when I say Dr. Harry Mittelman is a very talented facial plastic surgeon. Years ago, he performed reconstructive surgery after I suffered a blast injury which damaged my hand, face and neck. After multiple surgeries, my face and hand appeared as if I suffered no trauma at all. My neck had a few scars but since then, Dr Mittelman developed an original technique for addressing aging neck issues ("the horizontal neck lift") which restored my neck to the way it looked in my late 30's. My dad recommends Dr. Mittleman whom he has never met. He only sees his results. He is a hairstylist (owned a salon for 50 yrs) and he always recommends this surgeon's work to his clients. He describes Dr. Mittleman's facelifts as "flawless." My dad is a super picky, perfectionist and notices scarring, whether or not people look natural, etc. One year alone he had 8 clients get facelifts whom he sent here. He even lost a client who was a relative of another local plastic surgeon by being honest about her relative's work. (He didn't know they were related until after she asked for his opinion.) That surgeon scarred a client's face so badly that she has to wear bangs for the rest of her life, so he wasn't impressed with that doctor. There are a few surgeons he warns people not to got to and this is the only one in the South Bay whom he sends people to strictly because of the results. Now that I'm getting older, I too need fillers and my mom needs a touch-up facelift. My dad warned us not to go anywhere else, describing many good client experiences with Dr. Mittleman and many negative client experiences elsewhere. Dr. Mittelman did an amazing face and upper neck lift on my 75 yr old mom who had the "worst wrinkles" he's ever worked on. She hated looking at herself, but now she's proud to look in the mirror. The confidence she's gained outweighs the risks and pain. I was afraid the pain and healing would be much tougher than it actually was for a 75 year old. I have wanted a facelift for years, and I did my homework. I met with at least six cosmetic surgeons in the bay area, and met with Dr. Mittelman at least three different times during the last 10 years. I found his patients to have the most natural looking results, and ultimately chose him to do my surgery. I am a client of the Face to Face project and a victim of domestic abuse for many years. Throughout those years, it took it's toll on me emotionally and psychologically and physically. Thanks to programs like "Face to Face" which Dr. Mittelman's office, is a part of. With the help of your Big Heart and wonderful staff, whom were never judgmental nor full of curious questions. One that I heard so often, "why did you stay or what got you to leave"? I was greeted with warm smiles and willingness to want to help. The domestic abuse resulted in a fractured jaw, a deviated septum, protruding and broken teeth. Scars from open facial wounds and sagging eyelids from so many black eyes, my face had endured. I am currently working on trying to further correcting my eyelids and other facial parts that I feel would help bring my looks back to where I first started, before the abuse. With help from your office, I am continuing to work on those aspects. With teamwork from both Dr. Shreiber and Dr. Mittleman, your team was able to come together with a plan, to help me feel and look normal again. I had my upper eyelids done by Dr. Mittelman. I was expecting improvement, but I think the results are fabulous. Dr. Mittelman and I talked a lot about what I was hoping to get out of the surgery and what he thought was possible. I had some wrinkles and heavy "hooding" that made me look tired. And I think we were perfectly aligned -- healthy improvement without making me look unnatural. I had talked to other plastic surgeons in the area, and I chose Dr. Mittelman because of our conversations. The procedure was easy and fairly painless. Dr. Mittelman and his staff were professional and personable -- supportive, reassuring, patient and just really pleasant. Recovery was surprisingly fast. After about 14 days, most of the bruising was gone. And the scars are minimal -- two very, very faint and fine lines that disappear entirely with my normal makeup routine. I am a 62 year old man who went to Dr. Mittelman for a cheek filler of Voluma, along with botox reduction of frown lines between the eyes. I chose him because of his long experience, and positive reputation, after having been to a few consultations elsewhere. I could have chosen a number of others, who were much closer to home, but figured quality is worth the drive. After the injections I had a couple of minor issues with the way it turned out, people can be picky about their face. Dr. Mittelman handled this impressively, offering a "touch up", during which he had a very understanding attitude. After experiencing his very professional approach, and his skill, I feel that I made the right choice. In need of a full face lift, I consulted with 4 of whom I felt where the top rated cosmetic surgeons in the Palo Alto, Mountain View, and Los Altos areas. I wanted to choose the best surgeon, since I have seen face lifts with coarse cuts under the ears and some noticible asymetry in the tightness of the face. Additionally, I knew that my looks could benefit not just with reducing the appearance of my age, but with a chin implant, since I always had a receiding chin line given to me by my father's side. Dr. Mittelman was the one surgeon who specifically stated that a chin implant would improve my looks substantally. One other surgeon agreed after I asked him near the end of our consultation. After much research and self analization I choose Dr. Mittelman because I felt he is extremely detailed and would do the best job of making me look younger, and improve my looks. So in 1995 he and his staff did a face lift with neck liposuction, chin implant, and brow lift. I must say Dr. Mittleman did marvelous job. The cuts are barely noticible. My face is much more symetrical, younger looking and for the first time I feel like a man with a strong chin line which gives my face a much more structured look. It looks so good I might even be able to be nominated to do a U. S. Marines commercial! It's been a great 6 years feeling that I look so good. I continue to have Dr. Mittleman,his nurse/assistant Terry, and his staff take care of my ongoing need to look as good as I possibly can. Botox, filler and light lazer work have all been performed by The Mittelman Team to maintane and augment my looks. I had my first procedure by Dr. Mittleman in 1995. A full facelift, eyes, chin implant, neck lipo. The results were amazing, almost pain free, and I could go out in public (with sun glasses) after a week. After 2 weeks I really saw the new ME. Both the pre-op and post-op were terrific, helping me through the process, as this is a huge decision, not without fear and risk. My husband, who had been against all of this was so impressed (jealous?), that he decided to have his own lift, and of course by Dr. Mittleman. I have continued to see Dr. Mittleman's office for minor procedures, laser, some filler, etc. I would never go to anyone else. I have total confidence in this office staff, and Dr. Mittleman in particular, in terms of my own personal experience. I have never had a problem with any work to date. Dr Mittelman, I have just recently noticed this response from you. I feel the need to respond even though it has been many years now. At the time of my surgery I was concerned about the scaring of my lids which I expressed to you and was actually brushed off by being told that it would get better in time. The years didn't make the scars any better! Quite honestly I feel as though the scaring has made my lids look even more aged! Honestly to this day the worst eyelid surgery I have ever seen, and being a hair stylist I see a lot of them! Because of the outcome here I truly became afraid of any kind of cosmetic surgery. And as far as the scar revision on my check that was something that you suggested that I do, it wasn't something I brought to your attention. It was a flop! If you aren't 100% sure you can make an improvement you shouldn't make the recommendation! With all due respect Dr. Mittelman it's easy to come on here and say you would be happy to take care of it, but be real!!! First of all who goes back to a Cosmetic surgeon that did a horrible job the first time?!And secondly if you truly stood behind your work and were concerned about your patient satisfaction you would have done a follow up the first time I mentioned it to you instead of giving me the brush off! Also after seeing the review you might've reached out to me to offer my money back... we are talking about thousands of dollars here! Or at the very least see if there was any way to find resolve. My first visit was July 2017. I am so glad that I left that foo-foo skin clinic and came here. They are not always upselling on injections here. They do the best Laser Genesis by far. I am old . . . almost 65 in 4 months . . . and I have been getting one treatment here and that is all I need! I don't need botox or fillers because the Laser Genesis rocks my world. I was getting Laser Genesis at another place, and they did not have the setting as high as Dr. Trujillo and Dr. Mittelman. They give you all the laser you need here! The Laser Genesis I get here is better than what I got at other places. I highly recommend Dr. Mittelman's office for whatever you need. I will not leave this office. They are worth every hundred dollar bill I give them. My face and neck are smooth and glowing because of Dr. Trujillo. He used the highest setting (which is what I paid for and didn't get at other places). Today I got a retinol cream . . . will write about that later. I flew my mom in from the East Coast to have a full face lift with Dr. Mittelman. Our experience was outstanding. Though she wanted a face lift she had been hesitant to move forward because she had seen some overdone, bad jobs done by other surgeons. The last review I wrote on Dr. Mittelman was 1/17/2013 immediately after my facelift so this is just an updated report to say that everything has gone well and I'm happy with the over all results. You cannot see any scars at all on me because Dr. Mittelman made the incision on the edge (inside) of my ear and not down the front of the ear, as some plastic surgeons do for a facelift. The other incisions were behind my ear and in the hairline, which also can't be seen. It seems that a lot of plastic surgeons that I've talked to in the past have a real ego problem, but that is not the case with Dr. Mittelman. I feel that he really listens to his patients and what they want. Most important, I feel he really cares about his patients. I've had several follow-up appointments with both Dr. Mittelman and Dr. Schreiber, both have great personalities and they always take time to make sure you are happy and well. read more
