Since my early 20's I've known that if I didn't deal with my traumatic childhood, I'd never live to my fullest potential or feel truly happy. Shortly after I moved to Boulder at age 43, I joined Shelly's first ACOA therapy group. I also started personal therapy a year later. She has literally helped me crawl out of a deep, dark hole of pain. It is hard work, but so worth it. If you are ready to take the next step and do the work, Shelly definitly has the skills and along with her warm, judgement free personality, you can't help but succeed.

When I reached out to RedPoint for mental health support, I was met with an immediate violation of…read moremy rights. Tonya Ramirez told me outright that no service dogs were allowed -- a clear breach of federal law under the ADA. When I calmly educated the staff on service dog protections, rather than acknowledging the error and moving forward, the situation escalated in a way that felt punitive. Ashley converted my straightforward intake into an in-person interrogation-style interview. Taylor then withheld permission for Ashley to schedule my actual intake appointment, pushing my care back two full weeks. For someone seeking mental health support, two weeks is not a minor inconvenience. It can feel like an eternity. What troubles me most is the question this raises: if a facility cannot follow well-established federal disability law, one of the most basic legal protections afforded to people with disabilities, what confidence can patients have that other standards of care are being upheld? A mental health facility should be a place of safety, dignity, and compassion. What I experienced was the opposite. I cannot in good conscience recommend RedPoint to anyone seeking professional mental health care in Longmont.

1 Star I would not…read morerecommend The Redpoint Center for someone seeking treatment specifically for mental health concerns without a substance use component. Although Redpoint presents itself as treating both mental health and substance use, my experience was that much of the curriculum and treatment approach felt heavily centered around substance use. As someone dealing with mental health concerns rather than substance use, I often felt that the programming was not well aligned with what I actually needed. What was particularly disappointing was reaching a point where I needed additional support and being told that residential treatment was the appropriate level of care, despite being unable to pursue residential at this time. Rather than feeling supported in finding an alternative level of care that addressed my mental health needs, I felt abandoned by a program and community I had trusted. Mental health treatment needs to recognize that not every person struggling is struggling with substance use. The distinction matters, and treatment should feel individualized rather than built primarily around one population. Based on my experience, I would encourage someone seeking treatment solely for mental health to carefully consider whether Redpoint's approach and curriculum are actually suited to their needs before enrolling.

My first…read moreappointment was the best appointment I've ever had at a Dr.'s office; Dr. Charles has a way of making you feel like her old friend and I felt completely at ease. I had a long list of health questions and possible ailments and she patiently listened to me and took the time to thoughtfully discuss everything I brought up. At one point she even pulled out a physician's encyclopedia-type book and showed me illustrations about a skin condition I've been struggling with. I left feeling empowered and had a newfound respect for medical professionals. After a trip to Belize, I went to urgent care twice and was ultimately hospitalized for a little bug bite on my back. I had half a dozen doctors look at the bite, and every one of them had a different prognosis. When I finally went to Dr. Charles to follow up after the hospital visit, she took one look at my bug bite and immediately knew what the culprit was. I was furious at the other docs that didn't listen when I told them I'd gone to Belize and had numerous mosquito bites. One of them even suggested it was an ingrown hair (highly unlikely and borderline insulting). I was so impressed that Dr. Charles immediately knew I had a botfly and a week later I was healthy, bug-free, and once again awestruck by her knowledge. Last but not least, Dr. Charles always remembers me as if we're good friends, recalling details of my personal life and asking me how I've been since we last met. It's always unnerving to go to the doctor's office... unless Dr. Charles is your doctor.
