Ariel Shaifer, N.P. was my caregiver and she was thorough , informative and went over the cautions of using stronger pain killers. But, she was still accommodating and not condescending or tough. You just have to pass a drug screening prior, a urine test or mouth swab. I was unable to urinate right away but sat in the lobby drinking water until I could. I had nothing to hide. Marijuana use might be a factor in the ability to receive medication, so be forewarned. I was even told to try CBD, but was concerned that since some CBD has a very small amount of THC, I had not used it. I was told that if it showed up upon my next visit, I'd just be asked to discontinue using that product. So, they aren't unreasonable. I had a plethora of conservative treatment information from several doctors and a referral, which apparently is not required, but helpful. I think that's why it went so smoothly. Ariel Shaifer is very pleasant and knowledgeable. The rest of the staff is polite and pleasant as well. I highly recommend them. I had a bad experience at Colorado Pain Specialists where the doctor actually contradicted my doctor's opinion (because he'd never heard of him) and made me cry. Plus, they were in Golden, not so close and easy to get to in Longmont. They followed COVID guidelines and there was no wait... the waiting room was busy, but not packed full. Plus, they ran on time. There was a girl there who kept peeing herself in the commons area making puddles and the staff would just giggle and laugh. I've never felt so unsafe in a place before. The doctors don't care about you. I felt like this was an incredibly manipulative facility that seeks profits over quality of care. You guys need to be shut down immediately as you're a danger to at-risk people's safety. The care you receive here is very minimal and they tend to just push pills and keep you here as long as possible.

Started treatment on 07/07/14. 55 year-old male…read more After years of struggling with insomnia and depression and obtaining mixed results (at best) from prescription valium, sleep meds and anti-depressants, my depression worsened in early 2014. With no reason to expect anything but more of the same results from conventional medicine, I turned to Treatment Centers XL/Aminokit (XL) for help. After the first day of treatment with the amino acid therapy, my symptoms literally disappeared overnight. The next morning, I woke after sleeping for 8 hours with no medication for the first time in over 7 years. Amazing! No valium withdrawal symptoms and no depression. I went from being a numbed-out, irritable zombie to "feeling" again - literally overnight. The honeymoon lasted for 7 days, then the insomnia returned, and the next three weeks were pretty rough. However, rather than giving me the usual (insomnia) b.s. about counseling, sleep hygiene, etc., and/or trying to put me back on sleep meds, the folks at XL worked with me to adjust my amino acid supplements. As a result, my sleep steadily improved to the point where I've consistently slept well for several weeks now. Recovery from the effects of long-term valium use is an imposing proposition, but my mental focus, clarity and memory have improved dramatically as well. XL staff are a fun and personable bunch, and the atmosphere is comfortable, relaxed and warm. I experienced no notable delays or waits, and XL staff were very flexible in adjusting their schedules to accommodate my needs. In my case, XL people came in on both a Saturday and a Sunday to administer my IVs, and stayed late with me on several occasions. As far as I'm concerned, these folks personify healthcare at its finest. Going with Treatment Centers XL/Aminokit is the best decision I've ever made. They literally gave me my life back. I'm still amazed at what a dramatic, transformational experience this has been. It's been three months and still - WOW! I'm still getting used to feeling good again!

I came in with a decent corporate insurance policy but after my experience today, I'll being having a conversation with our corporate leadership to assess why my indemnifier is allowing Hughes to accept our policy. Dr. Hughes lies about objective tests results. For instance, he lied about blood pressure at 142 not being hypertension. I'm middle aged and haven't had a physical in probably 30 years. I have a long family history of specific physical health problems and symptoms that started popping up be since I was an athlete. My watch indicates I'm in workout mode when I'm at rest and I asked for a very rudimentary test ( EKG) to rule out medical problems given my family history and symptoms. Dr. Hughes is uncredible and his medical findings and opinions aren't worth a dime. This explains why his practice is located in some obscure, dumpy office on the side of the road in Longmont. Reception are pretty rude as well. Strongly recommend finding a doctor who knows how to listen, who is diligent and has actually engaged in the practice of medicine instead of testifying for insurance defense or whatever it is he does besides scam for payment. Dr. Hughes is a condescending insurance whore. Don't waste your time and seek out a real physician who takes his practice seriously and doesn't engage in lying, bigotry and other tactics used by doctors busy sucking up to insurance companies for a living instead of treating patients. Avoid at all costs. As you can see from other reviews of the " practice ", it's clear that this physician and his staff have burned many bridges in the community.
