Ariel Shaifer, N.P. was my caregiver and she was thorough , informative and went over the cautions of using stronger pain killers. But, she was still accommodating and not condescending or tough. You just have to pass a drug screening prior, a urine test or mouth swab. I was unable to urinate right away but sat in the lobby drinking water until I could. I had nothing to hide. Marijuana use might be a factor in the ability to receive medication, so be forewarned. I was even told to try CBD, but was concerned that since some CBD has a very small amount of THC, I had not used it. I was told that if it showed up upon my next visit, I'd just be asked to discontinue using that product. So, they aren't unreasonable. I had a plethora of conservative treatment information from several doctors and a referral, which apparently is not required, but helpful. I think that's why it went so smoothly. Ariel Shaifer is very pleasant and knowledgeable. The rest of the staff is polite and pleasant as well. I highly recommend them. I had a bad experience at Colorado Pain Specialists where the doctor actually contradicted my doctor's opinion (because he'd never heard of him) and made me cry. Plus, they were in Golden, not so close and easy to get to in Longmont. They followed COVID guidelines and there was no wait... the waiting room was busy, but not packed full. Plus, they ran on time. I went here voluntarily for a php program and and iop program. People think partial hospital…read moreprograms and you're like ... umm that's crazy intense and I mean yeah it's group therapy from 9am-2pm for 4 weeks. Then a step down iop program for 8 weeks for 9 hours a week. It is gonna be hard but the pay off is worth it! However if you do not want to change your behavior and use the coping skills it will not help you. It will seem lame if you don't want to be there. You have to want to change to actually change. My parents did not teach me things about boundaries and feelings, so it was really nice to actually learn this stuff. They also can set you up with a psychiatrist, and give you helpful information for other services you may need. I think as humans we are so smart that we are aware of our existence and the global and political state of our world; we don't know how to deal with death and have very complex ranges of emotions. (Individual therapy is very helpful for specific issues. ) You can't really understand this stuff unless you go to school for it, which is why mental health programs are helpful. People who spend years learning about these things can help people who can't or don't want to do that! I was honestly scared they were gonna lock me up if I said I was have suicidal thoughts... but let's be real, everyone has them at some point! They were very nice about it and let you talk to them about these things. Of course do know if you are actively being a danger to yourself or others they do have to put you on a 72 hour hold, I personally have not experienced that so i can't speak on it. For your own sanity if you are sure you are not going to do anything, tell them that. Everyone on staff are required to be mandatory reports for those kinds of things. It's literally the law. (As are most hospital staff) Anyway life is crazy and everyone will inevitably have some sort of major life change, and it's important to take care of yourself by seeking help. I've had multiple people who have done this program tell me it genuinely changed how they handle friendships and relationships. Anyways I'm lowkey glazing this place but i genuinely think I would not be here today without the program. I am not sure what it was like a couple years ago but they have changed management and my experience was good. So yeah, don't be afraid to seek help, take those vacation days to improve your life. It's not shameful or embarrassing.

Started treatment on 07/07/14. 55 year-old male…read more After years of struggling with insomnia and depression and obtaining mixed results (at best) from prescription valium, sleep meds and anti-depressants, my depression worsened in early 2014. With no reason to expect anything but more of the same results from conventional medicine, I turned to Treatment Centers XL/Aminokit (XL) for help. After the first day of treatment with the amino acid therapy, my symptoms literally disappeared overnight. The next morning, I woke after sleeping for 8 hours with no medication for the first time in over 7 years. Amazing! No valium withdrawal symptoms and no depression. I went from being a numbed-out, irritable zombie to "feeling" again - literally overnight. The honeymoon lasted for 7 days, then the insomnia returned, and the next three weeks were pretty rough. However, rather than giving me the usual (insomnia) b.s. about counseling, sleep hygiene, etc., and/or trying to put me back on sleep meds, the folks at XL worked with me to adjust my amino acid supplements. As a result, my sleep steadily improved to the point where I've consistently slept well for several weeks now. Recovery from the effects of long-term valium use is an imposing proposition, but my mental focus, clarity and memory have improved dramatically as well. XL staff are a fun and personable bunch, and the atmosphere is comfortable, relaxed and warm. I experienced no notable delays or waits, and XL staff were very flexible in adjusting their schedules to accommodate my needs. In my case, XL people came in on both a Saturday and a Sunday to administer my IVs, and stayed late with me on several occasions. As far as I'm concerned, these folks personify healthcare at its finest. Going with Treatment Centers XL/Aminokit is the best decision I've ever made. They literally gave me my life back. I'm still amazed at what a dramatic, transformational experience this has been. It's been three months and still - WOW! I'm still getting used to feeling good again!
