Love this store! Everyone is friendly and helpful and the store is clean and well stocked. The layout of the store is easy to navigate and feels more natural than the other Harris teeters in town. With all the grocery stores in this town, you would think they would try harder. They hardly have any real cashiers, so you are forced to use their poorly designed kiosks. Even when you scan the items correctly, the machine dings off and announces that help is on the way. Your bag is searched and footage is reviewed that you did nothing wrong, but it makes you feel like a criminal. The prices are much higher than other stores when their items are not on "sale" and I wouldn't have as much of a problem paying it if they got actual kiosks that worked and didn't make me feel like a thief from their ridiculous announcements from their cheap kiosks. read more

I just wanna give a huge shout out to Cassie and Quinn! I made a pick up order for 5:30 pm to fit into my daughter's schedule! Long story short I've been taking care of my mother in Waverly Va, my family lives in Williamsburg, since the beginning/mid September. There is only one grocery store a county away but Harris teeter has the option to pick up and always has good deals also is convenient on the way to the ferry! Cassie and Quinn went over and beyond to expedite my grocery to be picked up early due to change of plans! this is the worst harris teeter ever. alwaout of sale items. the vegetable department is not even one star. produce is consistantly out of date and still on the shelf. after many complaints, i finally gave up. i now only shop there for a quick buy on something i need, otherwise.... don't bother. read more

Your Crunchy Tuna Roll was definitely a Crunchy Shrimp Roll. There is a significant difference between the two. I am allergic to shell fish and took a bite into it and realized it was not what it was supposed to be. This is not the first time it has happened. What's weird is that the section for sushi is so small I can't understand how such a mistake can take place multiple times. I couldn't see the Shrimp in the roll because of the crunchy toppings, see picture below. One star is to get managements attention before someone drops after eating the wrong thing. I am a little wheezy however, I think I will be ok. read more

Beware, poorly managed store. Cashiers and baggers are poorly trained if at all. Often see cashiers on their phone and you have to get their attention. Secondly, the bagging is horrible. I explained to lady manager while returning a pizza that had been folded in half by baggers bagging. Cans on top of fruit and bread. Chips tossed to bagger with no thought to breakage. I walked out with 16 bags ($150) with many bags having 1 item like a can or a box of macaroni and cheese. Manager stated the cashier and bagger were special needs. I'm fine with that, but with prices HT charges its customers, having to hope you get home with all your groceries in good shape is ridiculous, regardless of who they employ. Manager clearly didn't get it and I doubt this store ever will. read more

This is a great grocery store! TBH, I've never been to one before, nor have I ever heard of it. Is it just a Williamsburg or Virginia grocery chain? The staff is always so nice, the store is extremely organized and clean. They have a "Very Important Shopper" card that can get customers some additional discounts. If you are looking for some good sales, they have that, too! Also, if you want Starbucks before or after you shop, there is a cafe inside the store. There are only certain things I purchase at this store and green produce is not one of them. Unfortunately, their selection of organic greens is nil to none, so I go elsewhere for it. There are certain hygiene products I purchase and other grocery items. Parking is never a problem and sometimes I'll venture over to some of the connecting stores/restaurants. read more

Harris Teeter! In Williamsburg! I haven't been so happy since Publix came to Richmond! I stumbled across this HT last night on my way to Williamsburg Community Chapel. I have loved HT since the early 90s, but as there are none in RVA, I don't often get to shop at one. This was a special treat. I got a cart and ambled about the store. Picking up staples from the list in my head, I saw a display of Coke 12-packs showing a nominal price, but a much reduced price with a VIC Card. (Very Important Customer) So I went to the Customer Service center and got a VIC card. Thirty minutes later, when checking out, I was pleasantly surprised when the checker told me I had "saved" $12.94. And more surprised this morning when, looking at my receipt, I saw "SENIOR DISCOUNT 5%." The only slightly unsettling part of the experience was that to get the VIC card, I had to, not just show her my drivers license, but I had to hand it to her so she could take a picture of it. She should have asked my permission to photograph my drivers license. I would have assented, but she was keeping personal information without my approval. read more

HT needs to put up a sign saying that they don't serve the mobility challenged and elderly. On 11/5 @1:03 p.m. I was checking out, when the cashier next to my check out line (Deborah) asked me to move. I scrunched up close the the counter, but instead of moving the cart past me, Deborah left it parked right behind me so that it was almost touching my rear end. I backed up a step to lean against the cart because I was in a very awkward position hanging onto the counter. A few minutes later she asked me to move again and said, "your chair is in the way," by which she meant my Rollator. THEN she moved my Rollator out of reach. Did she think I use a walker as an accessory? I'll probably never know. It's ridiculous that HT allows their cashiers to inconvenience one set of customers in favor of another set because they don't allow adequate room between their check out lines. But it's even more ridiculous that they encourage cashiers, in this case Deborah, to discriminate against the elderly and mobility challenged. read more

Disclaimer: we loooooooooove Harris Teeter, and we can't help but compare this location to others we've shopped at for years. Pros: great location, good to-go food selection, starbucks Cons: seems way understaffed as there is nearly always a line at the single open register, sub shop is often running out of ingredients, some of the cashiers give a lot of attitude if you question something. Lots of nice folks here, and there are deals to be had. But a recent experience illustrates why this HT is not measuring up: We ordered 3 subs on the app. They were ready on time, but barely resembled the subs we ordered. They were out of cheese bread, cucumbers and condiment containers. Why did they not walk 15 feet to get a cucumber from produce and slice it? I dunno. As I went to check out, there was one register open and 4 folks in line. A worker offered to take me to self checkout (not a fan), and there was an issue using my sub points. None of this is a big deal, but it gets old visit after visit. read more

Don't go if you are in a hurry, and don't expect to have a cashier ring up your groceries. They have installed a bunch of do it yourself registers, and maybe one regular cashier, even though there is a long line. Went for skim milk, they were out. but if you want soy, almond, oat milk - they have it! High prices, poor customer service. read more

I would love to see one in Colonial Heights, VA or closer than 35 miles away. A great shopping grocery store, but way to far to shop unless I am in the Williamsburg area. read more
