I found better food at lidl that lasted longer than this. The frozen chicken I bought was raw on one side and cooked on the other, so it was super tough. And the broccoli I got went bad I'm a matter of days and I spent a total of $10 for the both of those. I went to lidl and the chicken was fresher and my broccoli lasted forever and was only like $4-$5 for the both. Idk guys all I'm saying is sometimes less is more.‍ read more

Today I was very excited to give this grocery store a try, as I have never been here before. I headed straight for the deli to see what goodies they had. I guess I came at a busy time as all the men back there were working hard. I was curious about the brands of Turkey they had and I asked a lady in a black shirt named Crystal if they carry any unsalted. She scoffed at me and told me they will be right with me. I didn't realize my question was so bothersome. What most upset me is she wasn't doing anything, she was leaning on the Island in the middle. Why couldn't she help me? We have been so very happy with the Uber Delivery service they offer online. My dad is in his 80's and doesn't drive anymore. I can order him groceries from the app while at home in Maryland and they deliver directly to him. We can pick a delivery window of 1 hour and they text him as the order is done, again when the order is on the way and again when they arrive. It's a great service and very easy to use. I get to take advantage of all the sales and E-Vic specials just like when I am in the store at home. I think the restriction is 5 miles but if they widen the delivery area or start offering this service from other locations, it will be even better. Can't wait until it's offered here in Maryland. read more

LOVE my Oceanfront Harris Teeter! Jane in the floral department is amazing and so is the beautiful fresh product she offers.

At first,I have to admit to believing this was a small and cramped deli/bakery.Me and my family of four were looking for somewhere that could replace our needs for a Food Lion.When we got to our condo,we immediately noticed the Haris Teeter's a block away from our house,so later we decided to give it a try. When I came into the entrance I noticed it was incredibly large and much too big to be a deli or bakery,sizeable enough to fit bothe a Starbucks and a Haris Teeter's Pharmacy.It had a considerable amount of produce at moderate prices.I also noted the abundance of friendly and helpful staff,who are willing to crack a few jokes as well.Therefore,I rate this Haris Teeter's a well deserved five stars. read more

Far superior in selection and quality to its nearby shabby competitor, Farm Fresh. If Lori did an actual item-by-item comparison, she'd find HT no more expensive, and in some cases quite a bit less. For example, on my list last week, red bell peppers FF $3, HT $2.50; Starbucks ground coffee $9.99/lb at both; redeye country ham (deli) FF $12.99/lb, HT $8.99/lb. And so on. I am by no means a Harris Teeter loyalist, also shop regularly at Krogers, Food Lion, Trader Joe's and even K-Mart (all at Hilltop), but for anyone to get all "Ooooh, don't go there, that store's always so expensive!" without doing a reality check just isn't, you know, reality. Work from a shopping list* (DON'T buy items compulsively!), eat something before you go so your lizard brain isn't screaming "Feed me!" while you pass those attention-grabbing displays, save your receipts so later you can compare prices accurately, stock up on non-perishables when they're on sale, check out the house brands to see if they meet your standards (they don't always). I have moved from this area of Virginia Beach for over a year, yet I'm still come here to shop. Granted there are a wide variety of grocery stores closer to my house, but I know how to shop here. Honestly, I look at their sales sheet and plan my weekly meals, so I can actually feed my family on a little over a hundred dollars every two weeks. All it takes is a budget, and a little brain work and it gets done. And I'm not spending hardly anything on the processed stuff. read more

I must say every time I come to VA; this is one my fav 5 spots I like to shop for groceries for the week. Food is always fresh and you can always find a bargain of items. Never disappointed me. Customer Service always seems to be very nice here too! This place is way to expensive ,unless you are walking save your money and drive an extra 15 min to Walmart or some other store away from the beach , $10.00 a lb. for ham and $3.00 for a loaf of store brand white bread to make sandwiches really, once we got our bearings on the area we never went back. We first arrived in Va. Beach approx. a year ago. We first visited the HT near the beach upon our arrival. We had never spent any time in Va. Beach before. It was quite by accident that we were here at all. In any case, they have small samples out for shoppers. We were shoppers. We took one or two of the samples and a rather rude employee of theirs rushed over and said we had been there everyday. We had gone in once earlier. We had been in the area exactly 5 days when this occurred. He didn't say everyday for what length of time, Just "every day. " And said it in an unpleasant, impatient tone. Why did he think he had the right to speak to us that way. Our Dad served for nearly 4 years in the Pacific during WWII, as did 3 of his brothers. He had also lost his mother when he was just 7 years of age. He sacrificed a great deal to serve his country in wartime. And his daughters are then treated disrespectfully over something so petty. It is one of our failings as a country. DO we respect those that have served and their families. HT should make the effort. But doesn't really. Doesn't appear to care enough. We remain in the area. We own a place in NC and the area was hit by Hurricane Florence and so we remained in the VA. Beach area longer than we hoped we'd have to. We just again had an unpleasant experience at HT. Very recently we decided on getting lunch there. The place where we had planned to go was inaccessible as a result of road construction around it. So I entered the store to maybe buy some crackers, cheese and maybe a frozen dinner. I ended eventually doing that but not before some drama unfolded. I was over by the cheese section and found something on sale. Decided to get it and put it in the cart. I became aware of the woman who "works" in the flower dept. staring over at me along with an employee working in that section. I thought it strange and moved away toward the front of the store. I really didn't know what to do. I wasn't doing anything except shopping. She seemed to follow me throughout the store. I was finished and realized I didn't have the debit card with me so went to find my family member. I also briefly visited the rest room. My sister was waiting in the area where there are tables and I returned to the cart, it appeared to be gone. I was already feeling strange as a result of the flower kiosk woman acting strangely watching me. I went and picked up the same items I had originally selected but all the check outs had fairly long lines and people with much bigger orders. I decided after all that and this individual, the woman in the flower section continued to stare and perhaps one other person. I did not stare so I'm unsure. We just wanted to leave and did. We made it out the door but were followed by someone named "Rick." He said something to the effect why were we leaving, and that items in the cart shouldn't be left to go bad, etc. I didn't say anything about having been rudely stared at point. We went to the cart and he brought out the original cart, he had said something to the effect, make sure you pay for everything. Basically an insult, it appears. He and another man had run into the woman's bathroom after I had exited. We finally made it out. The check out person seemed obtuse. We didn't want two of everything We tried to indicate that to him. He caught on after awhile. That woman stood near the check out, not her counter, and kept staring as we paid and frankly stalking us. The unpleasantness of that experience is hard to quantify but the quality isn't. It was bad. And completely uncalled for. I just saw on the internet a list of the 10 most and least liberal cities. Of all the cities in the country and there are many, VA. Beach, VA came in at Number 3. Not the Most conservative, but pretty close. Not really something to be that proud of. Really solid cheese and beer selection. Good looking produce. We went to the deli counter that everyone seems to think is rude, but they were fine even though we asked for small amounts of a ton of different things (we were making fancy sandwiches). The girls working at the Starbucks were very nice. A lot of other reviewers said that this place was expensive but we are visiting from Connecticut and we are used to exorbitant grocery prices. read more

Really confused as to what recipe book the baristas at Starbucks have in this Harris Teeter location. She was obviously making my drink wrong and I told her what was supposed to go in it, even showing her the recipe from the official Starbucks app, but she kept just telling me "that isn't what my recipe card says". She finally caved and added the mocha shots per the recipe before I just asked for a refund, but they clearly need to be trained better. She just kept referring to a recipe card that she wouldn't show me as I showed her the exact recipe from the app on my phone. She couldn't just accept it, she had to just keep telling me what card she uses said without backing up the statement. read more

I was there early in the morning and I guess I was in the way of the stock employees because they certainly didn't move for me or let me pass their carts. An old lady jumped me in line and the cashier told me that my cart should be on the other side of the aisle. This is not how it works in other Teeters. The cashier quickly moved her long nasty hair over her name tag. I guess I should have talked to management, but......why waste my time. Will never go here again. read more
