I never understand why stores (especially a small local one) puts a not so friendly person dealing with customers/customer service. Looked around while waiting and prices are astronomical - yikes. I recognize this is not a large chain so I understand a markup, but prices were so high I drove down to Walgreens to buy what I needed. I appreciated getting a flu shot but will not be visiting here in the future.

I was greeted upon entering today, and two cashiers were working. I noticed that the store is better stocked than it had been in the past. The Minute Clinic area has been remodeled, with a larger waiting area. I used the self-checkout as I prefer it when redeeming my rewards, as I can pick and choose what to use based on the expiration dates. The self-checkout next to me was being worked on, and the one I used was finicky at times. It would scan some of the items easily, and others would take multiple attempts. I am glad the self-checkouts were getting the needed maintenance.

I don't know what is going on with the Walgreens network, but they are quickly destroying its reputation. BUT, I must mention that in this instance, today, the Walgreens at 3601 Rogers in Wake Forest moved heaven and earth to find 3 prescriptions I needed before a trip. LAURA, the pharmacist, called around to find another Walgreens that had one of them in stock and somehow, the other two prescriptions, that were "out of stock" surfaced. She is both caring and competent, which sadly is lacking throughout the Walgreens system. THANK YOU, LAURA, FOR HELPING ME WITH MEDICATIONS THAT I CANNOT BE WITHOUT! I think Walgreens is in complete disarray with organizing medications and has a constant disruption in the supply chain. I also think their computer system doesn't update properly. I truly feel for the employees who have to deal with this situation. I'm sure they are understaffed and take abuse from frustrated customers. Remember what it was like when you were at the beginning of your career. Often the employees are young and they are having to work with a terrible, impossible system. (I need to work on patience and empathy myself!)

I was having some serious hot flashes, night sweats and swings from menopause. I was sure I was going to need a doctor intervention. Deborah knew just what I meant and what I needed. Rhubarb tablets. Yes! That's what I said! No way. I reluctantly bought the tablets, went home and did exactly what Deborah told me to do. Take it at the same time every day. Don't deviate. While I waited for my vaccines I noticed the pharmacy techs seems to take a genuine care/know many of the customers. To me this feels very out of the norm for a large chain pharmacy. They were asking about people's parents, following up with how people were feeling, and just in general caring about each customer. I only had to wait a few minutes each time for my vaccine. I also love how they do the $20 cash back here. Overall parking is super easy and they seem to have the most appointments open in the Raleigh area. I'll be back!
