    They are one of the only local pharmacies that make the special compound for our daughter's heart meds.

I don't know what is going on with the Walgreens network, but they are quickly destroying its reputation. BUT, I must mention that in this instance, today, the Walgreens at 3601 Rogers in Wake Forest moved heaven and earth to find 3 prescriptions I needed before a trip. LAURA, the pharmacist, called around to find another Walgreens that had one of them in stock and somehow, the other two prescriptions, that were "out of stock" surfaced. She is both caring and competent, which sadly is lacking throughout the Walgreens system. THANK YOU, LAURA, FOR HELPING ME WITH MEDICATIONS THAT I CANNOT BE WITHOUT! I think Walgreens is in complete disarray with organizing medications and has a constant disruption in the supply chain. I also think their computer system doesn't update properly. I truly feel for the employees who have to deal with this situation. I'm sure they are understaffed and take abuse from frustrated customers. Remember what it was like when you were at the beginning of your career. Often the employees are young and they are having to work with a terrible, impossible system. (I need to work on patience and empathy myself!)

Update: Most of my prescriptions are for 90 days, so when one of those was filled in September, I was surprised that this pharmacy filled it again in October. But the insurance wouldn't pay as it was too soon, so they applied some kind of discount card for the prescription, just filled a month earlier, that I did not need. I contacted the pharmacy multiple times by calling and messaging to get it fixed, but all I kept getting were text updates to come pick it up, and it would be held for so many days. CVS Customer Service even told me that this was taken care of. But even after the hold time, they still tried to give me that prescription. The prescription wasn't filled when it should have been with my insurance come renewal time, so I had to order it manually. The website doesn't always let you log in. I even typed a note for them to call me and file with my insurance this time. I knew they didn't, so when I went to pick it up, it was still through the discount card. They tried to tell me that was my insurance. I mentioned that if it had been filed with my insurance, it would have been a different price. So the cashier didn't know what to do, and another employee had to fix it all and file with my insurance. It has been a big headache that I've dealt with for two months now. I'm not sure who is hiring these people but they are making huge mistakes. On my most recent visit, I had a vaccine scheduled at 10:30am. I arrived earlier than that time and stood in the area I was instructed to, only to be ignored for almost 30 minutes. The pharmacist during that time even asked me to move so that she could go to the restroom. Never once during that time did anyone ask if they could help me. The customers waiting in the pharmacy line noticed me, though, and wondered what was going on. I waited until 10 minutes after my appointment time to speak up as by that point it was getting ridiculous. I was ready to leave. It was 10:52am when I finally got my injection, and there was no apology for the wait or the delay. It is time to find a more professional pharmacy.
