Harris Teeter consistently wins with their format in the Charlotte area. Yes, I really like Publix but I believe HT is more consistent across their chain and they do a better job. Today's shop was excellent. The store was clean, bridge and well stocked. There were no carts in the corrals in the parking lot and no litter. The produce area was well stocked and very tidy. Salad bar was clean and the samples at the bakery were fresh. Big frozen section and the dairy area was also fully stocked. Prices are clear and displayed on all shelves. Checking out was quick. My VIC card was scanned and about 10% dropped off the total. Neatly bagged, I was asked if I wanted help bringing it to the car. I did not but it was nice and friendly. I'm a fan of this HT! This is a nice location. Every time I come the customer service is consistent. They have plenty of parking in the shared parking lot. I will say the set up is different where the produce is in the back section of the store. The store is typically clean and organized. It's not my favorite Harris Teeter but it's nice. What set grocery stores/super markets (depending on where you're from) is the experience. The prices are all relatively the same when shopping in the same area. Customer Service/experience is second to none at this location. The first time, I purchased some fresh shrimp and the sale price was $9.99 per lb. I purchased several lbs and not paying attention at the register I was charged 12.99 per lb. I didn't realize rth his error until getting home. I returned and explained the error to customer service and the politeness and sympathy shown was impeccable. I was refunded and didn't have to experience the hassle and verification that I've experienced at other grocery stores. The second experience, two bags were left at the register(by fault of my own). I called back thinking I left only juices and was told to come on back. I couldn't return as I was preparing dinner only to realize more items were left. I returned the next morning. Having a conversation with the manager she had me to go get the items forgotten and again the customer service and conversation were great. Of course I presented my receipt but I was expecting to have to repurchase the items since I left them at the register myself and no one turned them in. Great customer experience everytime. Just had the most amazing Italian bread here- on sale at .99 a loaf. You must go grab yourself one.... as a matter fact grab all of them and put them in the freezer because they are so awesome. If I wasn't so lazy I would go back to the store right now and hug the baker! read more

I have been frequenting HT 1-2 times a week for the past year- and I have to say today's experience was awful. There were at least 10-12 individuals without wearing masks. They were mainly young-middle aged adults - some were company reps checking in stock, others just customers. I asked an employee if they are still following the governors mandate which they said they were. However the cashier stated fewer and fewer people have been wearing masks any Corporate HT is not doing anything about it. The employees have complained about feeling unsafe during the current pandemic, but it seems HT would rather not "cause drama" than protect their employees. I'll be taking my grocery shopping elsewhere for now. read more

Yeah OK so you are one of the priciest Grocers in the area but your store is clean, bright and well stocked all the time! That in of itself grants you 5 stars but what really puts you over the edge is your Customer Service. The CS is TOP NOTCH and it's not just the Manager or a random Cashier, it's the ENTIRE STAFF! The guy behind the Deli wanted to know how my day was going. The guy in the Produce section gave me a tip on how to properly store fresh corn and EVERY Cashier greets me with a smile. This has to be the best local supermarket I have ever lived by. They are 24 hours. They have a decent health and beauty section. Always lots of things on sale, good deli selections, great wild caught fresh fish at a great price. Extremely helpful friendly staff. While I do wish they had a better selection of organic price as well as meats they do have some which is great. My kids love to go shopping with me because of the race car shopping carts (which are a pain in the neck to steer once they actually have groceries in them) but hey it's for the kids! The gas cards are what keep me coming though. You pay $40 for a $50 gas card for with Bp or shell ( any time you spend $50 or more.... Which is always for us) Great value. They certainly give the neighboring grocery stores some tough competition. I love their "HT Traders" store brand which reminds me of another "trader" with comparable prices read more

This Teeter should be called Harris Teeter Junior. It's a smaller version of some of the larger, better stocked locations in and around Charlotte. Perhaps my opinion of this location is tainted from shopping at the Taj Mah-Teeter in Morocroft, but seeing as how there are 2 really nice, full sized locations less than 5 miles from this one (Promenade and Arboretum), there really isn't much of a reason to go here for your weekly shop. The biggest problem isn't that it's a smaller location with fewer items, the biggest problem is the fact that they charge, nay, OVERcharge for the items they do have. I've complained before about Harris Teeter's high prices, and this location, unfortunately, is no different. read more

Full service atmosphere and very clean. They have what you want and will order it if they don't. The company is very civic minded and gives a lot to schools and charities. *Side note* Food is a little on the pricey-side in this area, compared to Chicago and New York. I decided to try a cheese sample that was available and the pizza counter person told me to take 2 pieces at a time. First of all, this was my first time at the cheese sampler counter. Second of all, are HT employees so rude to customers? I will never shop at this HT again. The HT closer to my neighborhood are very polite and helpful. I did not receive the same experience at this location. Never will I shop there again!! read more

I've been shopping at Harris Teeter for 9 years now. Their in store staff is great, selection is good and they keep their stores clean. I do however feel they are dishonest about their own products; like labeling frozen poultry as "fresh." Most of the Harris Teeter's I've visited have the same issue withpoultryitems, i.e. Turkey & Chicken being stored at temperatures below USDA standards which is below 26 degrees fahrenheit. I've mentioned this to them many times and I keep finding frozen solid poultry that is suppose to be "fresh." I was informed that the chicken comes off the truck that way. Here are excerpts from the USDA's website stating what thedefinitionof the label "fresh" means: http://www.fsis.usda.gov/FactSheets/Poultry_Label_Says_Fresh/index.asp Why is 26 °F the lowest temperature at which poultry remains fresh? Below 26 °F, raw poultry products become firm to the touch because much of the free water is changing to ice. At 26 °F, the product surface is still pliable and yields to the thumb when pressed. Most consumers consider a product to be fresh, as opposed to frozen, when it is pliable or when it is not hard to the touch. What does the "fresh" rule mean to consumers? For consumers, "fresh" means whole poultry and cuts have never been below 26 °F. This is consistent with consumer expectations of "fresh" poultry, i.e., not hard to the touch or frozen solid. Fresh poultry should always bear a "keep refrigerated" statement. Any good cook knows that frozen chicken is much tougher and less flavorful. It's a basicscientificfact that when you freeze cells it damages them and they loose their moisture, thus you get tougher, much less juicy,inferiorchicken. So, not only does Harris Teeterlabeling their poultry"fresh" NOT meet USDA label standards, but also it's an inferior product to truly "fresh" poultry. I love the truly fresh chicken at Fresh Mart, It's much more tender and juicy with great flavor! When I bake Fresh Mart's fresh chicken breasts I'm not left with shrunken chicken breasts in a watery soup from the juice that leached out like at Harris Teeter. I understand it's more economical for Harris Teeter to freeze fresh chicken. It lasts longer, there's less waist; but most important Harris Teeter loosescredibility! Frozensolid does notequalfresh! If a consumer doesn't trust Harris Teeter, they are less likely to buy their products. That's not economical, but most of all it's not morally right! read more

I have been shopping at HT for almost 30 yesrs now. For the very first time today my fresh faced cashier said "I have to ask...do you qualify for our senior discount?" I was taken aback and have to say that it was the equivalent of being told that "you look like hell". I(I am in my early 50's) and said"WOW, that really hurt my feelings and she was very apologetic but explained that she "was required to ask..." my feedback would be that a better approach would be to put on your weekly specials flyers or as a notice on the cash register or on the employee name tags "ask me about our senior discount" - because I don't need that kind of buzz kill every time I go to the grocery store. read more
