They get there by low costs by not carrying everything, by only having limited brands, and by having minimal staff in the store. You'll probably not have more than four or five people working, whether it's stocking shelves or staffing registers. A couple of things you need to know before your first ALDI shop... You'll need to bring a quarter for the shopping cart. It's a deposit and you'll get your cart back when you return it. They do not bag your groceries here and bags are not free. As your purchase is rung up, it's just put back into the cart and then you'll be doing your own bagging. You're going to need to either buy their bags (not cheap) or bring your own bags. You will absolutely save money here. It's cheaper than the major supermarket chains and I think it's even cheaper than Walmart. Enjoy! This store is a hazard to anyone who might be immune compromised.
