The person behind the fish counter, Brian lacks common civil etiquette. First I had to alert him to my presence as he was intentionally ignoring me. I asked him to clean 2 flounder for me. He remarked "that's what dressed mean." Dressed is not cleaned it's scaled. I took the fish home my aunt had me return it to be properly cleaned. They didn't clean it because it already left the store. The manager did offer me a refund. I just wanted to eat fish. So I took it home and cleaned it the best I could read more

There isn't much in Folly Beach in the way of grocery so seeing a HT is nice. They have all the usual staples and if you're renting on the beach like we did, you can go and get plenty of food and snacks to make some meals at home. It's large and well-stocked and has everything you'd need from the store including deli, veggies, fruits, pastries, etc. read more

What happened to Piggly Wiggly? I always loved going to Piggly Wiggly when on vacation, however I also love Harris Teeter! This is a grocery store with a beach twist. It is a large store that caters to tourists, but also provides all high quality grocery needs. Harris Teeter is known for having high quality fresh produce and meats. Our family bought a good deal of produce while there, and we got some of the best blueberries we have had in a long time. This location carries many food items for special diets, and the employees are super nice and helpful. A bonus was that they accept the Kroger card for discounts! One other plus is that we were able to pick up an extra beach chair without going to a different store. This will continue to be our go to store while at Folly Beach! read more

Good HT but on the smaller side. We got what we needed but my only issue with this location was that there was one cashier available and the self checkout was available as well with one person monitoring it. There were several self checkout stations and it was hard getting her attention with what we needed as well as for everyone else. Making our way to Folly Beach to spend a few days and Christmas with family, we made a quick pit stop at this Harris Teeter location to stock up on food and vino. I'm no expert but this appeared to be one of your best options before hitting the beach. Note that Harris Teeter is owned by Kroger for all you fellow Midwestern folks. Our stop included a visit to the stocked wine section, produce section and to pick up a few forgotten hygiene products. Harris Teeter is fairly basic but offers just about everything you could need for a week on the beach. Our cashier was friendly and every area of the business we experienced was clean and well organized. For reference, this location is about a ten minute drive from the beach. read more

Last stop before you get to put your toes in the sand, so you better stop and check your list and do not pass up this Harris Tetter! This is truly one of the best grocery stores in town for that very reason. For years now my friends family has been getting a beach house or condo on Folly beach. I usually find myself staying a night or two during the trips down and always make my way to this HT. Ice, beer, eggs, sunscreen, it's here. Yes you'll probably pay a couple more bucks than you do at the store in North Chuck, but who cares, your paying for convenience. This last check in I found myself there the night before Thanksgiving. The store wasn't as crowded as I expected yet they had plenty of friendly helpful people working. Harris Teeter has a wide variety of beer and ciders! I love all the local options! The store is clean and organized!

I think the store on Maybank Highway is slightly better as far as selection. Both have good service, carry many of the brands I am looking for, etc., but I think they have a bit more variety there. This one does have a nice-sized beer selection including a walk in cooler section. They also have a gas station attached that some of the other locations don't. I really like this location of Harris Teeter. Before or after a day at Folly Beach it is nice to have a convenient location to pick up all of your grocery needs in a clean and well run store. Everything in the store is well organized and well stock and I can easily find what I am looking for. The staff is really helpful and makes sure you have the best shopping experience that you can. Okay so I am increasing my review here a little bit because it does look like the new deli section is going to be nice but we'll see how they pull it off the produce still wasn't that impressive but they've definitely stepped it up with the beer and wine selection and the rest of the stores been totally rearranged although it doesn't look like they're going to put in the self check out which would really help this place read more

I haven't found an HT that I didn't like yet, but I do wish that they were more consistent with the layout between locations. We were passing by this one and just needed a loaf of bread and some angel food cake for a dessert item. No angel food cake in stock, so we chose my other favorite, pound cake, and made some amazing strawberry shortcakes. Still not sure where the bread was, but because the kids were in tow, and we had just come off the beach, we weren't about to go aisle by aisle :-) Otherwise, another splendid location at the HT with plenty of parking to go around on a Sunday afternoon. read more

The local Harris Teeter in Folly Beach is a really nice grocery store. The store has a lot to offer and is always clean. I like the Folly ordinance that prohibits plastic. All your groceries are bagged in paper. The only complaint I have is that the store prices are high compared to other Harris Teeters and other competitors around the area. But having the store within a few miles of the beach is a convenience. read more

After the construction finished, I now drive past 2 other harris teeters to get to this one. Almost entirely for the ease of parking and quick check outs. Staff at the checkouts are very friendly. I will say I have had to wait and have been ignored by the ladies at the deli a few times. One bad experience had them with their back to me while they were just chit chatting. A gentleman had to come over and give me service as they just ignored me. I put up with it because I enjoy the boars head meats but sometimes it is very rude and they act like they are being inconvenienced. Produce section is MUCH improved after remodel. Looks and feels fresher. Meat section rotates great deals in and out and the 1.99 a pound boneless chicken breast is always a go to. Also they put in self check out machines as part of the remodel which makes the quick in and out for one or two items much faster. read more

This store is close to the beach, and you can tell. It's dingy and dirty throughout. It feels old and small. Employees are too friendly, maybe some people like that but I was annoyed by it. Every time I went down an aisle I felt like they were urging me to check out. The manager I encountered seemed very sassy. i like that they are bringing in more organics, they have a great beer selection, and the construction is FINALLY done. The Meat and seafood area is still smaller than the other HT on Folly Road, but they do offer a gas station. Its not cheaper than other stations but they offer discounts on their own gas if you buy enough groceries which makes it worth it. Finally, once the construction was complete, the check out process has become a real challenge. cashiers are slower, not enough lines open at times, confusion on where to go to get into a checkout line, and general lack of service at the checkout line have been a consistent part of the experience. they are obviously trying to steer customers to use the self checkout lanes, but as someone that normally buys a lot of fresh produce, im not going to try to figure out all the codes when the cashiers often dont even know them. The new store is nice, but bring a few extra minutes and some extra patience when you go the check out and youll be ok. read more

Drove up to use the balance on my Harris teeter gas card. Closed and turning people away. Pumps were full of customers wanting to get gas. Attendants were talking through the door. One person at the pump told me this happens a lot. Very strange. I'll go with the other gas card companies. read more

The pharmacy here, is absolutely rude. I have never had a good experience here, one employee in particular always makes for a horrible experience. Prescriptions can't be filled, there is always an extremely long wait time. Today, was told it would be a 5 hour wait. If, I could leave zero stars I absolutely would. In times like these, you really can't afford to hate your job. It is the same employee every time, that is so rude and ill mannered, it is disgusting. Coming from Walterboro to stop at this one pharmacy to wait 6 hours to drive back to Walterboro because we have inconvenienced this employee. I only come here, because of the location of the dr, and they are the only ones that carry the amount of medication I need. To be treated as if I don't matter, makes for a great time. I highly recommend doing your shopping elsewhere, if you can avoid folly road harris teeter pharmacy at all costs. It is worth the extra money to go to a different pharmacy . read more

Walking into Harris teeter feels like home! I love the free cookies and free samples! We were on a mission for some subs for a beach day and some cold beer. We like a special beer only available in the summer - and have had a difficult time finding this brew this year- so we were very happy to find they carried it, and it was nice and cold. Then we proceeded to the deli to have our sandwich made. That's where things got interesting. First we ordered a footlong on wheat bread. She told us they didn't carry it. Then her coworker told her WHEAT bread. Finally she got the picture. Our sandwich was in process. We asked for Italian meats- and then the additions. Every vegetable we ordered she put a massive amount- especially the banana peppers. A heaping handful of peppers on each half of the sandwich. At the end of the process she had difficultly folding the bread due to the massive amounts of banana peppers. I would go back but hopefully have a different person in the deli helping me. read more

Sick of not being able to check out. Only one or two cashiers open. This would be fine if self checkout EVER worked. Never does. Attendant called waited 7 minutes. Had to leave all my shopping sitting their including frozen, hot and cold items. Sitting on bags and walked out. Today would not scan bulk coffee by code or lookup. Couldn't ba k it out. Couldn't undo attendant request. Couldn't cancel transaction. Forced to just leave it all there. Just sick of it. Regular customer but this is last straw.
