My experience started when I needed a Certified Gemologist to appraise a diamond necklace bought in the Carribean, appraised by a different "non-chain" jeweler way below purchased price. Problem, they were not familiar with the specialized cut of diamond. On the day of my scheduled appointment, my home was burlarized, taking my new necklace. Skip forward 6 months, I now had cash in hand from insurance settlement. Ready to upgrade my wedding ring set. Note to anyone considering switching from yellow gold to platinum...upgrade the color of the stone as many levels as possible. Final result, a beautiful customized ring. Jason worked with me to find a way to incorporate my wedding wraps into the new style in a way that would allow me to have the look I wanted with the memories of my original set preserved. Three years later, I still have compliments on my ring with people thinking it is brand new because of the brilliance. Because of my very positive experience with Jason and the rest of the staff at Harris, I have referred two other soon to be brides to Harris and Jason. I actually went with one of the brides to make sure Jason would be the one to take care of her because of the confidence I had in him. I typically do all my shopping online but after being extremely unsatisfied with orders from Zales.com and Ice.com I decided to head into a local store. First off, I am someone that typically does a ton of research online before purchasing anything and don't often ask sales associates for help. When I entered the store I was greeted by a very friendly and personable women who directed me to the diamond earrings. Out of curiosity I asked her a few questions just to hear a response and see if she would try and up-sell me unnecessarily or provide any "skewed" information. To my surprise the sales women provided very helpful information that did not turn up in my research. I ended up walking out with a pair of earrings that were under my budget and twice as nice looking as the ones I had bought online earlier that week. Overall my experience with Harris Jewelers was very pleasant and I found the staff to be very knowledgeable and personable. The sales women even tried the earrings on so I could get a better idea of how they would look which I thought was a nice touch. I am a huge advocate of online shopping but I think Jewelry is one of those items that is just better to buy in person. It was also satisfying to support a 3rd generation family business instead of an unfamiliar online company. I recently went into Harris Jeweler to look for a wedding set for me and my husband after looking at several different local stores. I worked with a young lady who was very professional and worked with me for hours to find the perfect rings! She went back to the back and found us a killer deal on an engagement ring that just came in. Then figured out a way to modify it to fit exactly what I wanted. I love that they are family owned and operated and seemed to have been in business for a long time, I think the lady's grandfather started the store. They even had the ring modified and sized the same day. I cannot say enough good things about Harris Jeweler. Last Christmas my boyfriend surprised me with a beautiful diamond in rhythm necklace that Bonnie Harris Frey helped pick out (thanks Bonnie!). I love love love this necklace, but I felt limited in how often I could wear it due to the length of the chain. I approached Bonnie about getting a second chain and she suggested an adjustable one. I didn't even know that was a thing and let me tell you ladies, it is a game changer! I now wear the necklace all the time and simply adjust the chain to match the neckline of whatever I am wearing.
