Park at 1401 Congress to be able to go through the underground entrance, plus pay only $6 parking. I'm sure you can access the tunnel access from other courthouse nearby. This parking option and underground entrance beats standing in line (outside above ground) from the main outside entrance. The staff is very thorough and the process is very organized. "It is both a privilege and your civic duty to serve on a jury." I have to say that the video was very successful in making me believe that I am truly needed here. Civic Service - total group think! Woot. Let's begin with the actual facility: it deserves 5 stars. It is very well appointed with areas for technology docking, City Cafe (*do yourself a favor if you're hungry and wait for the cafe to open - cheaper with Strbizzle.. Or bring your own goodies! There is a micro!), comfortable seating in separate rooms. Each room is equipped with not state of the art... But decent technology and sound system. Four separate rooms empty into a middle "lounge" area where you wait. And hai! That's what I'm doing!! I will criticize the fact that the vending machines are a rip off. I shouldnt have to pay for parking to "serve my civic duty." The $6 discounted rate is nothing if you think about the off lots for $5. And your facility, should have the address ON it not on the ground hidden by shrubs. There is such thing as rush hour traffic and you want people here at 0800. I cannot find you if I'm not famil and you look like a restaurant. I digress, I'm still waiting on voir dire and a bit grumpy. At least I'm sitting under a nice skylight and I'm going to get a check for six whole smacks for my service!!

In jury duty today, waiting.. You have to remind yourself it is a civic duty to really be appreciated.

I had to get permission to go in to work late so I could have it not be delinquent. I can't stand more than a few minutes without intense burning and pain during bad flares, and I'm in a horrible one now since my trunk fell on me and I had already gotten shoulder injections a few weeks prior. My back problems have been present for over 20 years, and I have fibro, AS, and autoimmune issues as well. Anyway, I usually go to the one on Chimney Rock, but that one can take a really long time. If I was off I wouldn't mind so much. The reviews for Griggs as well as calling and speaking with a very nice woman pointed me in the direction of this location. I planned on getting here at 7:30, but rain and life had me moving slow. I arrived in the parking lot after 8:20 and was out by 9:07. That's with me shuffling around my bags because of the rain and trying to protect my paperwork before actually going in. I was even able to get 2 placards, which I was about to ask for as mine looked like who did it and what for after 4 years of actual use. Faded to nothing and taped together in 2 places. I just turned 42 and work full time in addition to having nieces and nephews. My placard is always moving, and I drive my brother's vehicles since I can't easily move the car seats with my musculoskeletal and pain issues. The actual time from waiting in my seat to the desk and out the door was maybe 10-15 minutes. The only suggestion I have is the sign in sheet for the handicapped like the Chimney Rock location has so we don't have to stand in line and wait to check in at the desk for a number. Thankfully the line was short and I spoke with a lovely woman while waiting. However I had brought extra items for the wait(as I've had to wait hours in the past), my chair pillow, umbrella, iPad, and my bag was heavier than usual. Standing was extremely painful. It's not the same as standing with nothing in hand. There were chairs against the wall, but I did not want to risk losing my place in line. Outside of that it was a great experience. I'll be coming to this location for my needs from now on even though it's a bit further from home.

I went through the website, and figured out my forms ahead of time, filled them out and printed them. I had some questions and emailed them ahead of time, they answered within two business days. Very good service. The place is located in the palm center. A rather old, strip, but a big parking lot. A refurb wouldn't hurt anyone. The tax assessors office is small corner adjacent to the courthouse. Make sure you go in the right door, and wait in the appropriate spot, or they will get at you. Already seated in the waiting room. I walked up to the desk, provided my paperwork, and she was very happy that I had already had it filled out and was ready to go. Gave me a ticket and even though I had just walked in, I was called up to a desk within 2 minutes and was done in 5 minutes. Keep in mind I came 20 minutes early and they still saw me early and I was out before my original time had passed. Excellent service! Do as much as you can to get the things done ahead of time, and you will not have to wait, and it will be a much easier and more pleasant experience for you.

Yelp wants to know if I would recommend the social security office... I'm not really sure if anyone…read morewould really RECOMMEND it, but it's kind of a necessary chore sometimes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My visit was a one of those necessary chores. We were having an issue with putting our son on our taxes, and thankfully we finally got it sent in because I made an appointment on February 22nd, but the soonest appointment was APRIL 20TH! Two months later, and 5 days after the tax cutoff day. Even though we got our taxes done, I still needed to fix the problem. I was dreading the appointment because I didn't want to spend half the day waiting to speak to someone... but thankfully my mom is a gem who was willing to babysit so at least I didn't have to bring an unwilling toddler with me. Others weren't so fortunate. There were several children who were not happy to be there, but their mom's were champs and over all, it was pretty tame in there. My appointment was at 10 AM. There weren't very many people in the waiting area when I got there even though the parking lot was mostly full and there were a few people standing outside in a line. It turns out they were just signing in with the posted QR codes. I scanned the QR code, went inside, and checked in on my phone. Then I needed to scan my phone at a kiosk to get a receipt with a code. I sat down and was relieved that there were maybe 15 people total waiting. After 5ish minutes a lady asked if anyone had an appointment. Me and one other man raised our hands. She sent us both to a window and I was extremely happy that I was going to be in and out in a jif... so I thought. I told the lady what was going on with my son's social and what I needed to do and she literally told me that she wasn't good at that so I'd need someone else to help me. Umm... 'scuse me? Well okay then... So she tells me that I need to fill out a form for the next person. I explained that I already filled it out online and she said that they would need it on paper as well, so go ahead and fill it out again. Again... what? Okay, sure. I sat, filled out the form, and waited. And waited. And waited some more. After waiting an hour, nobody was at her window so I asked her if I was sent back to the back of the line. At this point the place was filling up, so waiting was becoming a bit less pleasant. She said that I was sent to the back of the line because I didn't have an appointment. I informed her that I DID have an appointment. At 10... She looked me up and looked my son up, saw that I had an appointment, and said that someone would be with me in a few minutes. I sat back down and was called in less than 5 minutes. The man that helped me was pleasant and kind. I was out of there in less than 10 minutes from the time I sat down with him. This tells me that I could've gotten out of there by 10:30 had there not been confusion with the first lady. Could've been a five star experience. I will forever make an appointment though... unless I can't wait 2 months for assistance.

I walked in with my daughter and although there was a line, the process ran smoothly and quickly…read more Everyone was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
