The store is small, with seating both inside and outside. They also have pastries available, but we ended up just getting the coffee. I ordered an iced latte, which was probably a mistake because it was a bit diluted and the coffee flavour was weaker. My partner got the hot version, and it was much better because you could taste the beans more clearly. Overall, I was very satisfied with the coffee. So most lunchtimes I find myself in Sucre. There is a new special posted everyday, a selection of soups, toasted paninis, wraps and sandwiches. The food isn't going to win awards but it is hot, tasty and cheap (the special is only £3). There isn't a huge selection of drinks either, but you can get the usual tea and coffee. The staff are incredibly friendly, and you can tell they a steady supply of daily repeat customers. There is a small seating area but it is definitely more geared towards take-away. The food is not going to beat the likes of Piece but if you find yourself in Bridgeton and in need of lunch you could do a lot worse than Sucre. It's definitely better than going to the Greggs next door.

I've been visiting more since the "Eat out to help out" scheme and find it a great place to set up the Laptop and escape into my own world. However, their WiFi is very poor and often cuts out, or simply locks out, which will eventually start to become irksome given its one of the key reasons for going there. Get that fixed and it will be rated 5 stars.

In this map there is a legend (not a folk lore type legend, one of the guide type ones... wait, is legend the right word?) which has several little tabs. - Pubs - Grub - Coffee Under each I have a mental list of all the spot on joints in each area of town for each specific category. For coffee it reads: Merchant City... All That Is Coffee. Keeping it short. Popped in the other day for a quick flat white before a mane chop at the equally awesome Mo Hair (honestly, if you're a man chap and have hair, this place is worth a visit) and left with a perfect example of how a coffee should taste. In addition to the fantastic coffee is a bookshop and showroom displaying all kinds of art, furniture and exhibitions. It a really minimal and great looking space. Arty as hell in other words. Fortunately the staff were really friendly and it doesn't feel remotely pretentious. We only popped in for a caffeine fix after visiting the nearby record store and were well chuffed with the coffee. It hit the spot nice and proper. Slightly limited food options, but then again, one of the few things it ain't is a restaurant.
