Horrible HORRIBLE customer service! I placed my order at the drive through window with a very unfriendly cashier! She did not greet me although I politely spoke to her. I placed my order and was asked for my name and phone number so that I can be contacted when my order was ready. I was told the wait would be 15 mins. I received a phone call 10 mins later. Sooner than the given wait time which was great. As I pulled up the same cashier with a long red weave opened the window and looked at me dead in my face waiting for me to speak!! The audacity. No hello how can I help you or NOTHING. So once again I spoke and told her I was there to pick up my order. She walked away, retrieved the order, handed out the window, and turned to walk away (while I was saying thank you) to socialize with the other ppl near the cash register. She didn't open her mouth or crack a smile not once during the exchange of my food. I have never been to this particular Harold's and wanted to give them a try because it's near my home. And the way I was treated by the cashier would've made you think I've done something wrong to her!! I am for sure I will not be returning because of the shitty service given by that particular employee. And the sad part is my wait time wasn't long at all and the chicken was excellent and very fresh (although they were stingy with the mild sauce). Being a fan of Harold's since the 1980's, was happy to see one opening near by. Staff was very well organized the second day opened. Chicken was cooked and spiced perfectly. Not much parking in front, might be tricky finding a parking spot during busy periods. But well worth the small inconvenience for Harold's great tasting chicken. read more

BEWARE! Food poisoning! My 21 year old son loved Harold's and was excited that a store had opened in Alsip. He ordered an 8 piece meal with fries on Sunday night. He ate 2 wings and a thigh and the majority of fries, then wrapped the rest up and put it in the refrigerator for later. However, later in the middle of the night he started violently vomiting. This continued 3 more times, into midday Monday. I called the restaurant on Tuesday and spoke to a lady (Kendal or Kendra) who claimed to be the manager. She claimed no responsibility and tried to make me feel deceitful while displaying zero empathy. She refused to resolve this issue unless I returned the meal. I had every intention of doing just that, unfortunately I didn't have time and I just threw the remaining food away. It's just bad business and her unprofessionalism has lost them a customer. Went here twice this week and chicken wings and sauce on the side were on point. Best Harolds I've had in a long time., even better than 87th in the Dan Ryan. Hot fresh and droped when ordered and not too salty. I don't mind the 15 to 20 min wait. Fires were ok but could be a little better but the chicken makes up the slight difference. Terrible! This has to be the worse Harold's in the suburbs. I placed a phone order however the young lady that answered the phone just said "hello" and that was it. I didn't know if I called the wrong number or if that was Harold's Chicken. That was the first red flag. Then the fries were extremely under cooked, the bread was hard and the chicken tasted like it was sitting under heat lamps all day. This location has pissed me off enough for me to never ever spend another dime there. The food isn't that good but it's the closest. I called at 12 (my lunch break) the girl on the phone told me 20 mins. I decided to just go up there and wait for them to call. I waited until 12:40 and still no call so I got in line. The girl at the window told me that it still wasn't ready and that she would call me when it was. I parked in the lot and waited until 1 o'clock (the end of my lunch break) still no call. I waited my entire lunch break and left with no food bc I had to go back to work and it's 1:30 and they still haven't called to tell me my food is ready. Currently the restaurant is drive thru only. Once you pull in there is no ordering screen with prices until you get to the actual paying/receiving window. Upon that point I asked for a menu and was told most of the prices had changed due to inflation and I was ok with that. My son ordered an 8-piece wing dinner, and I ordered the Daily Special 4 wings w/fries & drink. We were told they'd call us when the order was ready. My son and I went across the street to buy him a drink from McDonalds for .99. Afterwards we came back, and our food wasn't quite ready. But when it was, the young lady handed us our food but there was no drink. I asked her for my drink and then I was told it didn't come with the order. I then said you never told me that and she said I told you the prices had increased, and I said yes you did. She closed the window and talked to someone within the restaurant. Then she came back to the window and looked at me like that was it and I said no, I want my drink. Then she said what do you want me to do about it? I said get a manager. I then saw her speaking to someone who came from the back in RAGE. He told me look she already told you the situation. But as shared with him, she never told me the drink no longer came with the order. The manager then started to attack my fascial impression talking about how I looked and why I was so angry. Then I said had she told me the drink didn't come with the order it would have been different. I then said why not update your menu prior to prices going up and it would avoid situations like this. He asked me to give him my menu and then he scratched out with a pin what it said. Then he said I was being petty over a drink and aggressively told her to give it to me as he was verbally attacking me because of my request. The manager was the one being petty! Once the young lady told him about the problem he should have said go ahead and give it to the customer. But NO, he comes to the window in a rushed RUDE manner showing NO signs of professionalism. Once I shared with him that I was going to post a review on this service then he started swearing at me in front of my son and his workers. I ordered a large liver and it was HORRIBLE. It was so hard and dry that a stainless steel fork could not poke through them. I had asked that they be fried soft. I ordered through DoorDash so they re-ordered the livers and asked them to fry the livers soft. DoorDash ordered the livers and put in a $00 dollars balance. The workers at Harold's did not make the order. So, I received a call from the dasher asking me how I was going to pay for the re-order. I told her that I was not going to pay for the re-order and to have them check the order or call DoorDash. They checked the order and said " oh " The dasher had to wait for them to remake the order and she even told them to fry the livers soft because she still had me on the phone and I heard her ask. Guess what? The livers were rock hard and not edible. I could not believe this! The livers were terrible. This is no way to treat a customer. Needless to say I had no livers, because even if you could eat them, they were so burnt they actually tasted terrible. They fried the livers way too long.
