Even with covid measures in place the wait and process for getting your food is flawed and frustrating. Also the crowded parking lot is a traffic accident waiting to happen so drive extremely carefully. read more

Horrible HORRIBLE customer service! I placed my order at the drive through window with a very unfriendly cashier! She did not greet me although I politely spoke to her. I placed my order and was asked for my name and phone number so that I can be contacted when my order was ready. I was told the wait would be 15 mins. I received a phone call 10 mins later. Sooner than the given wait time which was great. As I pulled up the same cashier with a long red weave opened the window and looked at me dead in my face waiting for me to speak!! The audacity. No hello how can I help you or NOTHING. So once again I spoke and told her I was there to pick up my order. She walked away, retrieved the order, handed out the window, and turned to walk away (while I was saying thank you) to socialize with the other ppl near the cash register. She didn't open her mouth or crack a smile not once during the exchange of my food. I have never been to this particular Harold's and wanted to give them a try because it's near my home. And the way I was treated by the cashier would've made you think I've done something wrong to her!! I am for sure I will not be returning because of the shitty service given by that particular employee. And the sad part is my wait time wasn't long at all and the chicken was excellent and very fresh (although they were stingy with the mild sauce). But because of the nasty service I will not be returning. She is one rotten apple and is for sure to keep customers away as long as she's employed there. SMH. read more

Tonight's dinner was acquired from Harold's Fried Chicken of Alsip, IL. - because that BK Southwest Jr. Whopper from down the street just wasn't gonna cut it as a bonafide substitute for dinner in my opinion (i.e , not enough to satisfy this brother. Two thrown together sandwiches and two medium Cokes. I had to ask our server if everything was there in the bag. It wasn't the $5 meal with the drink fries and chicken nuggets I was expecting as advertised, but instead a disappointing disgusting overpriced snack that was seriously lacking in appeal and left my bowels on high alert for the duration of our excursion of the day. Unh-uh, no. But, I digress.) Our Keep it Real 'hood meal consisted of the half dark for her and the half mixed for myself along with the obligatory fries and cole slaw that qualifies it to be called a meal I suppose. Upon our arrival home, I proceeded to tear into my bag. No bread. I checked. Much to my surprise, I found my order pleasantly satisfying and tasty. The pieces were moist and meaty, unlike some yardbird encounters I've had where the chicken looked like it had been acquired from a third world country. It wasn't drowning in catsup and mild sauce either, but just enough to cover the meat and potatoes without oversaturation. Yeah, there was a little bit of feather sticking out of the wingtip, but who eats that part anyway? I don't. The slaw wasn't over processed to a consistency just short of soupy liquidfication, but much to the contrary where I could taste, identify, and still appreciate every chopped piece of cabbage, onion, carrots mixed with sugar and mayonnaise. Unfortunately, the fries couldn't hold up to the ketchup - nor the grease that they were cooked in, although served in abundance, they were limp and not very palatable. Too bad, because I usually don't pass on the fries from Harold's. I have been known to sometimes wrap them up in a piece of bread and eat them like a french fry sandwich. But, as I said, no bread was included with my order making it all the more easier to pass on those fried potatoes. Oh, well. Overall, I selected this particular location because they have a drive thru window and I can phone in my order and be notified when it's ready for pickup. Tonight's faire was a borderline 5* experience to me. Keep it up. This could be my favored choice since the old 87th Street Billings franchise spot closed awhile ago. Bon appetit. read more

Always consistent and fresh. I've never had any food missing and sometimes have your food ready before the given time. Always cooked fresh to order. ALWAYS delicious, the breasts are juicy down to the bone (that's what he said) lol that was all read more

Them: will be ready in 20min will call you Waited 45 min for only a 10pc ... Being a fan of Harold's since the 1980's, was happy to see one opening near by. Staff was very well organized the second day opened. Chicken was cooked and spiced perfectly. Not much parking in front, might be tricky finding a parking spot during busy periods. But well worth the small inconvenience for Harold's great tasting chicken. read more

BEWARE! Food poisoning! My 21 year old son loved Harold's and was excited that a store had opened in Alsip. He ordered an 8 piece meal with fries on Sunday night. He ate 2 wings and a thigh and the majority of fries, then wrapped the rest up and put it in the refrigerator for later. However, later in the middle of the night he started violently vomiting. This continued 3 more times, into midday Monday. I called the restaurant on Tuesday and spoke to a lady (Kendal or Kendra) who claimed to be the manager. She claimed no responsibility and tried to make me feel deceitful while displaying zero empathy. She refused to resolve this issue unless I returned the meal. I had every intention of doing just that, unfortunately I didn't have time and I just threw the remaining food away. It's just bad business and her unprofessionalism has lost them a customer. My only recourse is sharing our experience and warning future customers. Be careful! read more

I'm start off by saying the I spent 35 for a 24 pc the shit was not good the fried chicken was soggy and not crispy at all on top of that I waited a whole hour for my food just to get home and look to see there no fries with the chicken I will not be going back there truth be told this why I don't support black own business they customer service sucks read more

While the chicken is as good as any other harold's, waiting over 45 mins is a bit crazy. While there, 3 people asked for refunds and walked out after waiting for so long. Tried to call ahead for pick up but they never picked up. Overall not worth the time and frustration, next time I have a craving I'll just go to the one on 87th read more

They service is terrible, they always mess up my order from a simple 6 pc chicken... I ask for extra sides of sauce and they never put it ... then I ask for extra sauce and they don't charge me nor put in my bag...the girl said " well I didn't charge you " I'm like "I ORDERED IT" the women are completely stupid .. I separate time I asked for 2 mild and 2 hot sauces and she gave me 1 hot 2 mild and some other sauce This place is filled with stupid workers completely disappointed The one In Crestwood is better The wait is 35 minutes for one meal read more

Chicken and mild sauce is good. The fries can go. Idk if they are using steak fries or what but the fries ain't it at all. Also, I hate their lil a** drive thru. I got a big girl boss car LOL HATE the drive thru. It's so tiny. Maybe when I had my put put it was fine but nah... service is ok most times I've been there. read more

If you want old time Harold's that taste good and got a little time to wait this is the Harold's to go to clean inside and they make sure you going to get some good hot tasting chicken the old way Harold's used to do it this is the number one Harold's in the Chicagoland area I give them five six seven eight nine 10 Stars I'm telling you if they continue to do business the way they're doing it now and don't rush nothing they'll make a lot of money read more

The chicken on the bone was great. The tenders, you would think taste the same but they were chewy and inedible. Waste of 10 bucks.

Went here twice this week and chicken wings and sauce on the side were on point. Best Harolds I've had in a long time., even better than 87th in the Dan Ryan. Hot fresh and droped when ordered and not too salty. I don't mind the 15 to 20 min wait. Fires were ok but could be a little better but the chicken makes up the slight difference. Keep it up, reminds me old school Harold's chicken shack. read more

Terrible! This has to be the worse Harold's in the suburbs. I placed a phone order however the young lady that answered the phone just said "hello" and that was it. I didn't know if I called the wrong number or if that was Harold's Chicken. That was the first red flag. Then the fries were extremely under cooked, the bread was hard and the chicken tasted like it was sitting under heat lamps all day. You would think with all thats going on, restaurants would serve high quality food to keep customers coming back. Not in this case. I wouldn't recommend spending your money at this location. The one in Crestwood is better. read more

They got the order wrong and refused to make it right so i lost $10 because we found out a missing meal after they closed. Even though we called the next morning. I paid $70 on that order. The shrimp was fried too hard. The workers don't know how to be professional. I dont give two chances to get screwed. Never again read more

Dislocation absolutely the worst I have ever been to. They do not deserve any stars. They are not doing me a favor by taking my money and telling me that the chicken is going to be ready in 15 or 20 minutes but they sure acted like it a half hour later I'm still waiting for my chicken goodbye Harold's you'll never see me again read more

This location has pissed me off enough for me to never ever spend another dime there. The food isn't that good but it's the closest. I called at 12 (my lunch break) the girl on the phone told me 20 mins. I decided to just go up there and wait for them to call. I waited until 12:40 and still no call so I got in line. The girl at the window told me that it still wasn't ready and that she would call me when it was. I parked in the lot and waited until 1 o'clock (the end of my lunch break) still no call. I waited my entire lunch break and left with no food bc I had to go back to work and it's 1:30 and they still haven't called to tell me my food is ready. First and last time they get to waste my time. read more

my experience with Harold's today was less than acceptable the food was cold and they did not even call as they stated when it was ready on top of all of that they messed up my order did not put 3 sauces i paid for in the bags!!!! Currently the restaurant is drive thru only. Once you pull in there is no ordering screen with prices until you get to the actual paying/receiving window. Upon that point I asked for a menu and was told most of the prices had changed due to inflation and I was ok with that. My son ordered an 8-piece wing dinner, and I ordered the Daily Special 4 wings w/fries & drink. We were told they'd call us when the order was ready. My son and I went across the street to buy him a drink from McDonalds for .99. Afterwards we came back, and our food wasn't quite ready. But when it was, the young lady handed us our food but there was no drink. I asked her for my drink and then I was told it didn't come with the order. I then said you never told me that and she said I told you the prices had increased, and I said yes you did. She closed the window and talked to someone within the restaurant. Then she came back to the window and looked at me like that was it and I said no, I want my drink. Then she said what do you want me to do about it? I said get a manager. I then saw her speaking to someone who came from the back in RAGE. He told me look she already told you the situation. But as shared with him, she never told me the drink no longer came with the order. The manager then started to attack my fascial impression talking about how I looked and why I was so angry. Then I said had she told me the drink didn't come with the order it would have been different. I then said why not update your menu prior to prices going up and it would avoid situations like this. He asked me to give him my menu and then he scratched out with a pin what it said. Then he said I was being petty over a drink and aggressively told her to give it to me as he was verbally attacking me because of my request. The manager was the one being petty! Once the young lady told him about the problem he should have said go ahead and give it to the customer. But NO, he comes to the window in a rushed RUDE manner showing NO signs of professionalism. Once I shared with him that I was going to post a review on this service then he started swearing at me in front of my son and his workers. I would for sure not advise anyone to go to this restaurant unless they can provide a current/correct priced menus as well as BETTER customer services especially for a problem management could have avoided. read more

I'm totally disappointed with this Harolds. I drove out of my way to go here because it had good reviews. Somebody lied! My chicken looked old, had feathers in it and very little sauce. I asked for mild sauce in everything including the fries. There was NO sauce in the fries and barely any on the chicken. I will not be going back to this location. I'll stick to the one in Crestwood. read more

this place needs to be shut down ignorant management ignorant employees ordered a pizza puff and fries at 7:12pm and at 7:40pm they say it will be ready in 5 minutes now at 8pm its barely in the fryers. it doesnt take almost an hour for a pizza puff and fries read more

I ordered a large liver and it was HORRIBLE. It was so hard and dry that a stainless steel fork could not poke through them. I had asked that they be fried soft. I ordered through DoorDash so they re-ordered the livers and asked them to fry the livers soft. DoorDash ordered the livers and put in a $00 dollars balance. The workers at Harold's did not make the order. So, I received a call from the dasher asking me how I was going to pay for the re-order. I told her that I was not going to pay for the re-order and to have them check the order or call DoorDash. They checked the order and said " oh " The dasher had to wait for them to remake the order and she even told them to fry the livers soft because she still had me on the phone and I heard her ask. Guess what? The livers were rock hard and not edible. I could not believe this! The livers were terrible. This is no way to treat a customer. Needless to say I had no livers, because even if you could eat them, they were so burnt they actually tasted terrible. They fried the livers way too long. Somebody was upset and being funny but, I don't have to spend my money there! read more
