That should be enough said, but I can't help but rebut the one negative review. That was obviously a case of a mom and teenager who don't communicate well. The way I see it, they must have trusted him to do what was needed and then didn't want to pay for the work that had been done. He's honest, prices are fair, and he won't try to sell you a mouthfull of dentistry like most other dentists. He's extremely competent, diligent and caring. His injections are painless. It's all in the technique!!! He explains all you need to know, maybe more than you need to know, but I find that comforting to understand how much thought he puts into what he does and why he's doing it. Very few dentists care that much or take the time. Just because a dentist graduates dental school and passes the board exam doesn't mean he or she is all that good. I've seen plenty of mediocre dentistry and careless dentists in my day. Dr. Gatrell is a cut above the rest!

She did not want another permanent retainer placed, but she is a teenager that is too timid to speak up. She didn't know what to say once she was in the chair. The response I got when I voiced my concern about them doing a procedure without my informed consent was that they would bill insurance. Well, insurance didn't cover it. Called again after getting the surprise bill and said it was unethical to bill me for something I did not consent to on my underage child. Jamie's response was there was nothing she could do beyond taking $25 off (um... you're a privately owned office that determines your prices). She then told me there was a breakdown in communication as my daughter had been making her own appointments and bringing herself. Well, the breakdown in communication falls on Dr Gatrell and his staff. They should have contacted me to discuss what they were wanting to do and if it was okay. Again, informed consent. Instead, when she contacted me to schedule the appointment she said, "I need to schedule the 3 of you for a cleaning." How was I suppose to glean from that that only my son and I were getting the cleaning covered by insurance and my daughter was getting a $100 retainer placed? Should I not have gotten a paper with a quote, because I never did? There are still honest dentists out there, this office isn't one of them. Keep looking. I'm a perfectionist and follow the simple code "If you can't say something nice..." but after several months of repeated and wonderfully successful experiences, my conscience requires that I let others know about the much more than exceptional service I've enjoyed with Jared Theurer DDS and the rest of his team, particularly the Dental Hygienist LeeAnn Burton. I lived with several dental issues, including over a year of very annoying to miserably sharp pain. I had within a single month, seen four dentists attempting to resolve the pain issue alone; all to absolutely no avail. Out of exhausting frustration I finally decided to chalk it all up to the aging process, figuring I'd probably have to live with it till my last breath, which hopefully is a long time away. My wife had always raved about her dentist and was rather bewildered as to why I refused to go see him. But as I stated, I had already seen four dentists, expensive ones, 'how could seeing this dentist possibly be any different?' Yet, after months, when it came time for a routine cleaning and exam, I simply went to my wife's dentist. They were comprehensive. We started talking, really communicating. They listened and asked questions and within that single visit alone, the cause of the pain was not only discovered, but RESOLVED!!! Somehow, what four expensive Park City dentists could not see was recognized and my pain was history! This was more than 6 months ago and not a single pain since! No root canal, just an insightful adjustment to repair what had not been correctly done by one of the pricier dentist in Park City. Then they continued, exploring some of my other concerns and their earnest desire to really look into my overall well-being and oral care led to great success, resolution and my personal health. I truly appreciate these people, the humility and the genuine care they give their patients. The quality of their work inspires me and that's why I've taken the time to write this review. Visiting the dentist have always been a pleasant experience for my kids. They were never scared to see Dr. Johnson; he is very good with kids. Not only him but his staff; you can tell they have worked with so many children and know the right things to say or how to interact to put the kids at ease. My kids have never displayed any kind of fear or anxiety; or not wanting to go to the dentist. They are eager to go and get their teeth cleaned and examined. When you walk into the office, there are paintings on the wall of Safari animals everywhere. The characters are the same as the one shown here in his profile. The setting feels like a safe, fun and clean place. Dr. Johnson also referred us to an amazing orthodontist who basically fixed my daughter's underbite for free! He put in bumpers so that her upper jaw was able to grow out past her lower jaw. That will be another review... I highly recommend Dr. Johnson. He is knowledgable in his field. He has tons of experience and has a good network of professionals that he can refer you to.

This year, dentist recommended that she see oral surgeon for evaluation & extraction of her extra tooth so that her permanent teeth can erupt. I don't know of anyone who had this type of tooth removed this young and so nervous about it. I looked around at a few oral surgeons, and emailed Dr. Price's practice inquiring whether they work on patients this young. They do, and they work in conjunction with pediatric anesthesiologists for young patients. At consult, Dr. Price made my child feel comfortable. It was cool to see the 3D images of my child's teeth with the ones growing in and also the extra tooth. My child's consult was at the end of January and her procedure was end of March (today) because that was the soonest the pediatric anesthesiologist would be available at Dr. Price's practice. The pediatric anesthesiologists work directly with several oral surgeons in the area to provide available days to schedule surgery. Cost: you gotta plan for it if you do not have adequate insurance. They quoted $1665 w/o insurance. With my primary dental and husband's secondary dental insurance it was $375 total. The surgery required removal of her other baby front tooth and she also had a wiggly bottom tooth ready to fall out. Writing on day of her procedure. My child recovered SO WELL by the end of the day, & excited to turn in three teeth to the Tooth Fairy. Thank you Dr. Price for your skill & care with my child for her procedure.

CASH PAYING / NO INSURANCE - PLENTY OF BETTER CHOICES ELSEWHERE!…read more We WERE patients of this practice the past couple of years and had good service for the times we went (2X/year). However, if you do not have insurance (unemployed, self-employed) you will significantly save by taking your business elsewhere. TMFD provides NO discount to cash paying customers. You will pay the FULL amount of the rate they "bill" insurance companies, even though TMFD collects only a portion from insurance companies due to the contracted rates for said services. Example: I was interested in just a cleaning. TMFD wanted to charge me $112 for the cleaning. I had a cleaning earlier this year (Jan '24) and the rate they billed insurance for just the cleaning was $97. What insurance actually paid them was $45! Yet now, TMFD wants to charge me $112. I called around and found more sympathetic dentists to my current situation who not only had a less expensive rate to begin with, but offered a discount to cash paying customers (because they know they're going to collect more from a cash paying customer they offer a 10-25% discount than they would billing insurance). Once we have insurance again, no problem. Just amazed that TMFD wasn't willing to work with us and would so easily loose two loyal customers! BTW, their in-house plan wasn't that great of an option, once you run the numbers.

They do give you option to watch Netflix during your procedure. Which is cool if you need a distraction. And they give complimentary facials after cleaning. Also call for correct office hours. I started coming here about 9 months ago. I worked at a facility with children with mental health complications, it was a group home. I was assaulted by one of my students and broke two of my teeth. I had to have a crown put on one and a tooth pulled, an implant placed and then the new crown put on the implant. When I first started coming to Riverton Dental it was great. They helped me immensely with Workmans Comp. I called them when everything first happened and they said they had worked with Workmans comp before. They did a majority of the work at Riverton Dental, I had my Implant placed at Salt Water Dental. Mandi told me that those offices work together when implants are placed. I loved Salt Water Dental. They are beyond kind there, I even confided in Dr. Jensen about what was going on at Riverton Dental. He apologized on their behalf and asked me to give them another chance. That he goes from Salt Lake to Riverton Dental for his work and wouldn't go anywhere else. Come to find out the reason he was telling me this is because is he the owner of both Riverton Dental and Salt Water Dental. Now getting to the real issues. Lindsay called me Monday the 17th to make an appointment to get the crown placed on my implant for Wednesday the 19th of February, I asked her if she had any sooner appointments because I was beyond excited and she said no, I asked her to call me if she had any cancelled appointments because I live close to the office and would like to get in ASAP. She was kind and told me yes. Wednesday came and I got a call first thing in the morning, I thought they were calling me to tell me to come in early. It was Mandi. She was letting me know that she was not going to place the crown because my workman's comp had not paid her. She was not able to get ahold of him and they were not calling her back. I ended up asking her to give me workman's comp phone number and I called and they picked up first ring. We ended up three waying Mandi, he let her know that she had not sent in any of the bills and if she sent him the bills he would get a check out the same day for they to place the implant. She thanked him and hung up. I called Mandi back. She still said she is not going to place the crown until she got payment and a few other things she said to me that was uncalled for was "Its your fault that insurance has not paid me, they are your insurance and your problem not mine." another thing, one of my teeth were in the process of decaying, so I think that is one of the reasons it broke as easy as it did but she said "We both know that break didn't happen at work and you are lucky that workman comp is paying for that" if you work for a dental office why would you say something like that? I didn't even get an apology for it. Just so that she knows everything that happened to me is a video tape at my work and they can see it broke my teeth. We had great video cameras and they took pictures after and sent them to my "insurance" I fully recommend Dr Jensen at Salt Water, however I do not recommend Riverton Dental. I ended up going to a different office to have the implant placed. That office was great. They were the one that told me more about what was going on Riverton Dental and how many complaints they are getting. We actually had a conference call with Dr. Jensen. He ended up releasing the tooth to the new dental office. He did say a couple things that stood out to me that was a little bit upsetting. He said "We need to give her the tooth and put this down as a bad experience and cut ties" He is a great dentist but he needs to know what is going on in his other offices. If it was me as the owner I would want to know what was going on. Mandi did tell me as well if I wrote this review that she was going to "challenge" the review. She can try to challenge the review but what I know what my experience was.
