This is a great place for everyone our daughter was getting fussy but the dentist and dental hygienist was totally understandable and felt like home. Beware. This clinic has a 3.5/5.0 rating for a reason. Before my appointments, this clinic tells me how much I have to pay. I pay 100% of their quote up front, the insurance pays the rest. Months later, I get bills. I should have no bills. I paid what they quoted me up front. This is a constant problem with this clinic. I have NEVER had this problem with any other dental clinic. The quality of the crowns produced by The Smile clinic has significantly deteriorated. In my opinion.They used to be known for delivering exceptional results, but that is no longer the case. The crowns now feel rough and unfinished, more akin to unfinished concrete rather than the smooth porcelain finish one would expect. This change in quality can be attributed to several factors. Firstly, the office has become increasingly disorganized and overwhelmed with patients. The dentists at The Smile clinic now work on two to three patients simultaneously, which inevitably leads to rushed and subpar work. This lack of focused attention and time dedicated to each patient's treatment has resulted in crowns that are far from smooth and well-crafted. Additionally, the disorganization within the office has led to a lack of proper color matching. The matching teeth used during procedures are not put back in their original places, making it difficult for the dentists to accurately match the color of the crown to the patient's natural teeth. As a result, the crowns often end up being mismatched in color, further diminishing their quality. in my opinion. Furthermore, the longevity of the crowns has become a concern. They tend to deteriorate and crumble prematurely, even within a short period of two to three years. This is a clear indication that the materials and craftsmanship used in creating the crowns are of lower quality compared to what The Smile clinic used to offer. Overall, the decline in the quality of the crowns produced by The Smile clinic can be attributed to the combination of rushed work, disorganization, and a lack of attention to detail. These factors have resulted in crowns that feel rough, are mismatched in color, and have a significantly shorter lifespan than expected. Dr Roberts is amazing at what he does, he has been helping remedy a not so awesome All on 4 procedure I had done in Mexico (do not recommend going overseas).. It hasn't been easy and I'm a neurotic patient with extreme sensory issues (thanks Asbergers) but he has been patient and kind with helping me feel somewhat normal again. It's not a non stop fix but I have faith that, in due time, I can start to talk and feel like myself again, each trip to Utah provides more and more light at the end of the tunnel, hopefully the end is near I highly suggest doing your research before jumping into a AO 4/6, I wish I had, I would have absolutely done the 3 on 6 instead, lesson learned and all I can do now is look forward to getting my life back hopefully, thank you Dr Roberts and team. read more

I started going to this office when it was on Redwood Road. Totally impressed with Dr. Roberts. Things changed when they moved to their new building and more dentists were added. First of all their prices are exorbitant. I felt like I was paying for their big mansion if a building and Randy's Tesla truck. An implant that was partially done had been paid for but they demanded more money to finish it. Then when they put the new implant in it was huge. It overhung and trapped food under it. I had to have it redone three times to get one that fit comfortably. When I told them it was unacceptable the first time he tried to just file it down. In less than a month the cap over the implant screw fell out . Went to have it fixed and it still is not flush. Also he chipped several of my other teeth when trying to do the work. They also X-rayed my teeth every time I came in to try to get the implant fitted and miraculously had a new cavity every week. The dentist told me he found one small cavity that he would fix when I came in for my cleaning. When I came in for the cleaning they said there was no note about the cavity and again did another X-ray. Told me I would need to come back again. When I had the " small cavity" taken care of he whittled away half my tooth leaving it very compromised and sharp. When this all started to get ridiculous I asked if Randy could come take a look and was told he was too busy to see me. Surprisingly after I told them I wanted my overpayment refunded and would not be coming back I was told they could get me an appointment with Randy. NOPE, I'M DONE. read more

5 years into this 3 on 6 and they still don't have it right. It has been over a year and a half and I'm in pain from biting my tongue and the inside of my mouth. A lot of promises made that were not kept. I was told they would go back to the bridges that worked for me and then they decided they weren't going to do that. As a matter of fact they said they weren't going to do anything. Dr. Roberts even suggested I find another dentist, not in their company, to do the work. Told him that wasn't going to happen because once I have another dentist work on these he would claim that voided the work he had done and he wouldn't be responsible for anything. Terrible!! They are unprofessional and a rip off!! They say they take your insurance but not really because they charge whatever they want. When the accept your insurance they MUST take the amount the insurance states they have to charge for services but they don't. The make up excuses why they can charge more. I was told it's because the doctor their own lab work. I said well I would rather wait and have it sent out, then I was told that it wouldn't matter the would still c Have charged the $965.50 instead of the $667.00 that the insurance said is the maximum they can charge if they are going to accept my insurance, Met Life Dental, which they say they do!! So they should have only charged that amount but they actually charged me the $965.50 I paid and the $339.00 the insurance paid them!! This is just WRONG!! And their cleaning was crappy. I ended up going to the dental school and they did a better job for a lot less money. Then the front desk and the bill department is in competent! They told me the amount I owed was $9.65. I said $9.65? They said yes, I figured this was after my insurance. But that's not what they changed me! They charged my debit card $965.50. I wouldn't have used my debit card if they had told me the correct amount. I would have used my credit card. So this overdrew my account, causing an overdraft fee. When I called them. I didn't even get an apology. The she couldn't reverse the charge on my debit card, she said some cards she can't? What? I have have debit card charges reversed before on my credit union, so that's just stupid! Plus I work for a bank. She's an idiot! So they had to cut me a check and I had to drive down on my lunch, pick it up, And go to my bank and deposit it. I'm lucky that my bank reversed the overdraft fee since I never go into the overdraft. Because they didn't offer and wouldn't pay for the overdraft they caused! Then they shouldn't have even charged this amount in the first place!! They are unorganized, and the totally overcharge for services that aren't that great! We had driven past this place a couple of times, and decided to give them a try. We were happy to find that they were able to get us scheduled for a semi emergency procedure. That was quite nice, and the visit was also what I would consider to be quite nice as well. As most of us, probably think, a visit to the dentist is never ever never going to be five stars! However, the smile clinic did everything they possibly could to make us feel comfortable and respected while we were there. I did feel that the billing process was a little aggressive. They performed the assessment, and then come up with a plan for the treatment, yet prior to administering any treatment, someone from their accounting will come in and speak to you and ask for payment effective immediately or they will not be able to perform the dental procedure. Kind of strange? We thought so, and I guess these guys have been burned a few times by people not paying their bills and unfortunately had to get to this point. I don't usually write reviews but want to share my experience in the hope that it may help anyone that may be on the fence about having this done. I just finished having full upper and lower 3 on 6 dental implants at the Utah Smile Clinic. The procedure and outcome exceeded all my expectations. I now have upper and lower teeth that don't just sit on top of my gums but are under my gums like normal teeth. Here is a brief summary for those who do not want to read the entire review. Mid June I flew to Utah from Maryland where under anesthesia Dr Randy Roberts pulled all of my teeth, placed metal posts and temporary teeth. I flew home the following morning. I returned 3 months later and stayed 1 week while Dr Paul Child prepared and installed the permanent implants tweaking and making sure that my bite and the aesthetics of my implants were perfect. All of this was done in a state of the art, clean, up to date facility with a warm and friendly staff by skilled caring dentists for less than half of what it would have cost me in Maryland even with the added cost of hotel and airfare. I feel like I have my own teeth. My teeth look real. I can smile and eat anything I want. It can't get any better than that! Background: I will be 80 years old in a few months. I have multiple medical problems that are well controlled. Partly related to medication. In recent years I had several teeth break off and knew I had to do something soon. I reluctantly decided I would prefer to have all my teeth pulled rather than needing to spend hours and months in a dental chair having painful procedures for the rest of my life. I was only willing to do so if I was able to find a way to have permanent dentures. I had in the past removable bridges and they were very uncomfortable. There are numerous ads that claim to "Restore Your in A Day". Some were simply dentures that snapped in or dentures that were permanently fixed but annually had to be removed for cleaning and then re-cemented at a cost of about $1000 each time. I didn't like the All on 4 option because bone was trimmed and there was still artificial gum. I had 2 implants and the teeth sit on top of the gum so feel and look much more natural. That's what I was hoping to find. I had consultations with several dentist in Maryland where I reside. The estimates from ones who thought they could do a full mouth restoration were exorbitant. Even with loans I could pay those prices. I kept searching for options such as going to Mexico or Thailand to have it done but with Covid that option wasn't viable. I had given up hope and didn't know what I was going to do (most likely nothing except have teeth pulled when they became infected and live with the teeth I had left). It was difficult to eat with broken and missing teeth, if my picture was taken I would smile with a closed mouth or stick something in the empty spaces to look like teeth. Then I discovered the 3 on 6 procedure developed by Dr Randy Roberts at the Utah Smile Clinic. The price was half that of the lowest price I found here in Maryland. My first fear was that I would not be taken as a patient because of my medical problems and my age especially because I was from out of state. PLEASE if any of you value reviews, take the time to read this!!! I went to Utah Smile Clinic and chose Dr Child. My health was incredibly poor and it was COMPLETE RESTORATION OR HOSPICE. I chose COMPLETE RESTORATION and was even re scheduled with another doctor there at UTAH SMILE BY CAMILLE and my surgery pushed forward. I put down a 4,000 payment my very first visit and was waiting for a call from CAMILLE on the balance owed. I called for three day's and no return phone call. I spoke with MIKE who said to call on Monday and use his name and there would be no problems. The day before my surgery I finally called and spoke with a female who told me they had a wrong number for me. I asked her if her calls were recorded and if they had caller i.d.? She stated "NO" In the next breath she stated she would have the office manager call me as everyone had gone home and no surgery was scheduled for the following day. I asked her if she had my correct number in which she rattled off the number from my second line. I confronted her about the fact that she had just blatantly lied to me about having caller I.d. and asked her, her name, in which she then hung up on me. I never received a return call from the office manager that evening and UTAH SMILE CLINIC decided for me that I would now go on hospice to finish out the remainder of my life. They put on an amazing presentation when you go in for consultation and they even advertise the wonderful Dr Duckworth as their presiding Anesthesiologist for difficult cases. They promise they will take the best of care of you but once CAMILLE had you sold she is home with her children and never in the office. She spent 20 minute's flirting with the repair man while I was waiting and they will promise to hold your hand in surgery but that is if it ever happens. BEWARE OF THIS CLINIC. I went to them with severe infection throughout my jaw, sinuses and mouth caused by other health problems. Be careful who you get for a dentist. Dr. Roberts seems to be competent. He did the original placement of my implant. But he did not do the finish work on my implant. It has been a year and a half since I had that implant done. Dr. Nguyen was the finishing doctor and she fairly well had to be forced to smooth out the crown. She would not even make an effort on the outside. I have a gap even still between my gums and crown enough to catch food in it EVERY time I eat. She made one of the gaps between the two teeth big enough to snag every bit of food that passes by. This particular crown is an irritant every day, just because she was in a hurry to get the next patient completed. Run!!!! This was the most unprofessional experience I've ever had. The front office is completely incompetent, said "I don't know." To every question I asked, asked me to pay for my implant procedure upfront and charged me for things that were not part of the procedure. When I asked to be reimbursed they couldn't reverse it on my card so told me they'd send me a check, but checks didn't go out until Thursday (it was Monday). Two Thursdays passed and nothing! Had to call back twice to remind them and finally get it mailed. Girls at the desk are young, not trained on basics like data entry, insurance billing. Twice after my visit with a doctor we went to the desk to check out and the receptionist was sleeping and two more of them were sitting on the floor with hoodies on sleeping. My implant was put in crooked, the X-ray my dentist needed to finish the crown (cause at this point I was done!) would have cost me an extra $25, so they had me take a pic of it on my phone. Seriously annoyed with the lack of professionalism in office and even more annoyed I had to be the mediator between their office and my dentist to keep this process moving. At one point I called to dictate the email they needed to send for insurance purposes because "Looks good" is not a professional summary. Lots of wasted time and now a crooked implant. ORTHODONTICS AT UTAH SMILE CLINIC: I first got my braces through Utah Smile Clinic and this was my experience... 1. The staff was always really nice but many times I had people who were inexperienced and didn't know what they were doing with the braces. I had brackets dropped in my throat, painful visits, and even hearing staff say to themselves "Oh crap" while they had their hands in my mouth. This always made me nervous. 2. About 8 months into treatment I was told I was going to be getting my braces off but there were still a lot of problems with my teeth. I told them that I wanted to fix my canine teeth (super sharp and turned) but I was told that my tooth was "too deformed to fix". Nobody wants to hear that your teeth are "too deformed to fix" after spending thousands of dollars on treatment. 3. the staff is nice and I liked talking to them but they also seem very rushed. The dentist would run in, see you for a few seconds, and then run out. I never really felt like they focused on me. I also felt like the dentist had a "that's good enough" type attitude instead of making sure everything was perfect and up to standard. 4. Lastly, I began the braces process and was told that my insurance would cover a certain portion. Half way through treatment they notified me that they had missed the fact that my orthodontic insurance only covered dependents under the age of 18 and that I would actually have to pay for the whole thing out of pocket. I wasn't aware of this at all and I feel as if it was negligence on their part that I got the braces on thinking that my insurance would cover some of it. I feel like that is something I should have been aware of before even putting the braces on. Overall I ended up owing a lot of money for a result that I was definitely not happy with. After they told me they were taking my braces off I decided to see what other professional orthodontists thought. After going to about five different places, every single one of them said that they would keep me in braces for another year to fix things like my midline, canine teeth, and overbite. Most of the professional orthodontists said that my overbite was still severe. That was when i made the decision to switch to a different orthodontist to finish treatment. I almost didn't write this review because I'm sure they are great as a dentristry and they are nice... but I would not go to them for orthodontic treatment. It has been an incredibly stressful experience and has caused lots of grief... I am now trying to figure out how to pay for it all and will probably end up having braces for 2+ years. read more
