She seemed to listen and did a good job cleaning my teeth. 2 stars is for her. My dentist smelled of private equity and a complete disinterest in people he doesn't relate to. He recommended up-charged toothpaste, and up-charged filling material after explaining basic dental hygiene before asking about my existing habits. Then gave a treatment plan with high cost and high urgency. I received a second opinion from a lower-overhead dentist who had practical equipment and no comfort menu or drinks to speak of, but the same service was offered at a much more affordable price and much of what was itemized by Holladay was included in the overall cost from a well-regarded dentist in the area. My personal cost-incurred was around 1/4 of what Holladay quoted. He knew he could have come in at 7/8 of Holladay's cost and would have won my business but he charged for what I needed and committed to monitoring the rest as they were not of immediate importance. If you drive a Range Rover, require luxury in everything you do, and enjoy lighting money on fire, I'd recommend Holladay. If you drive a Toyota, require practical, affordable dental care from someone who takes pride in providing to the majority of the population without the frills, I'd look elsewhere.

I wish I could give them zero stars like some of the other reviews. Worst offense is they implied/did treatment on our son that was confirmed by second opinion dentist as NOT NEEDED -- which is so unethical when you think about drilling into your only set of teeth unnecessarily (see other reviews that had the same experience). They did 6 (some unnecessary) fillings all in one visit -- I believe so they can bill as much as possible -- and imply that they are doing patients a service by working quickly. Or they just know, like we did, that you'll move on to another dentist once you better understand their practice. They also billed us (and our insurance) for work that was flat-out NOT DONE. Nice receptionist refunded us (from required payment at time of service) when I called them on the work that hadn't been done. Side note: what dentist has a "pay at your visit" policy? Never seen that in my decades of dental work. People should know that standard practice is the office submits claims and bills patients after submitting claims/patient responsibility portion is clarified through insurance company -- standard at the second opinion doctor. They also charged for "desensitizing resin and anesthesia" they imply is "not covered by insurance". Every dentist I've ever gone to uses Novocain and any charges are included in the fillings claim -- also confirmed as standard at the second dentist. (No we did not get nitrous oxide anesthesia. Again, see other reviews for same experience.) They were one of our family Cigna dental plans "in network providers" in SLC, but I have contacted Cigna about them as they should be removed as a recommended dentist. Luckily we got out after one visit and found a great local dentist close by for our son. I hope you can do the same before you have to experience what we did.

Bring that I'm a new patient and new to Utah that was refreshing. I appreciated that during my kids apt they made sure to get my approval for things that not all insurance approve of. AND they've committed a number of LEGAL VIOLATIONS, as well!! It's difficult to write a review like this, when my personal belief is that not a lot can be done by complaining, so why do it? HOWEVER, I'm hoping it comes across more as giving information that I wish I would have had, when I was choosing a dentist. I'll TRY to keep what's turned into a VERY LONG story, into a manageable one. This begins last year, 2020. At only 50 years old, I had to have the rest of my teeth pulled and get dentures. I did so through Frandsen Dental. Before they pulled my teeth, they made the molds and dentures. When I was asked to approve them, I was very verbal about wanting the adjustment made so that I would have an overbite. I was told NO, that change would NOT be made! I was TOLD that although I would be completely sedated for the extractions, I would still get the nitrous oxide to calm me down. I was having a lot of teeth pulled. I was nervous. Upon arrival, they acted like they were just going to start. I asked about the sedation. The assistant told me that the dentist I had been assigned had not been in Utah long enough to get licensed to do that. I was NOT HAPPY! So, I hoped I could get by on just the nitrous oxide. Then the assistant told me that the dentist could not do that, either, for the same reason. He had not been in Utah long enough to get licensed. Also, I have a heart murmur and I am NOT supposed to get dental work done without "premedicating" with an antibiotic. Frandsen Dental did not call one in for me and when I asked about it again, the day of the extractions, I was told "it really wasn't that important anyway, so we'll go ahead without it." So, no premedicating, no sedation, and no nitrous oxide. I told the assistant I just didn't know how I'd get through. Instead of rescheduling with a different dentist, which is what I WANTED to do, the dental assistant asked me if I take Lorazepam. She knew I did. So, she told me, "just take 5 or 6 of those and you'll be calm enough." HUH?!?!?? ISN'T THAT PRACTICING MEDICINE WITHOUT A LICENSE??? So, I get the dentures, which NEVER have fit, even still. The patient is allowed five free visits for adjustments. After that, they are $45 per appointment. Five MIGHT have been enough, IF they were adjusted to the patient's satisfaction, AT EACH AND EVERY ADJUSTMENT! BUT THEY'RE NOT! EVERY SINGLE TIME I went in for an adjustment, the dentist told me, "Try that for a few weeks," even without adjusting EVERY spot that rubbed or had sores. As a result, I had FOURTEEN adjustments in that first year. Because I was so vocal about it, they did not charge me the additional $45. So that year goes by and I had each arch re-lined. They still don't fit, but they're better I had kept Dr. Frandsen abreast of what was going on, and he simply dismissed me.

No other medical offices do this, in my experience. I use my health equity card for all of our medical expenses. When I told them I won't be coming back. The office manager was extremely rude. I just received a bill from my last appointment. I declined the option for a fluoride treatment. They charged me for it anyway. I declined it due to their added fees. Did not take a history. I don't think he even read my chart or any of the paperwork I filled out prior. Did not give information regarding future care, or what I should be doing for myself. I could hear him berating other patients and staff. As a type 1 diabetic I already brace for medical professionals to be misinformed and judgemental when I step into their office, and I was still so incredibly floored by how poor his bedside manner was. Even as a regular human being this man was incredibly unkind. Dentistry is already one of the most expensive and daunting forms of medical care, especially in America. There is a huge power dynamic and at no point did I feel comforted or relieved that this man was caring for me. It was also incredibly expensive and seemed very shady. For being someone who has chosen to be a carer for people in vulnerable situations it truly seems that he takes pride in creating even more barriers for patients.
