I came in for a removal of polish on my fingernails. The last time I came in I asked for polish that would last for 4 weeks. The manicurist suggested the powder dip procedure. They put on 4 layers of polish and that stayed on just as promised. Today I decided I wouldn't be able to get this much polish off my nails myself so I came back to have the polish removed. Manicurist was very patient and kind as it took a bit of time to sand and soak my fingernails. He offered me a drink of soda or wine when I asked. Note, they don't serve coffee here which was something I was hoping for. Oh well, I settled for a coke. The people here are so friendly, polite and helpful and the setting is very quiet with some peaceful background music. Its a perfect way to relax. Prices are reasonable and in line with the competition and sometimes cheaper as well. They also have a point system. For every hundred points you receive $5 off your next purchase. Today I spent $10 for color removal and cut. Not bad considering. The shop is in a frequently visited location off Countryclub and Peace haven called Club Haven shops. Plenty of places to check out here after or before your nail appt. This remains my go to nail salon and they always take walk ins. read more

Unfortunately, after going here for months and months loyally, I will be finding a new nail shop to go to. I tried everything I could to resolve the issue, because I prefer to leave positive or helpful words when I can here. But bad service is bad service. When I come here, I go in and allow whoever is free to do my nails because I usually have a great experience regardless. But twice now, I have been given to someone who isn't ready to be doing nails. The first time I was serviced, months ago, all of my nails hurt SO badly for 3-4 days. He drilled over my skin continuously. But when I went in yesterday, I decided to give him a second shot. I regret that so much. All of my fingers were cut and bleeding. I told him he was hurting me and he said it's just hot. And kept on drilling. I started to dissociate at that point. They hurt so bad. The acrylic set (brand new) that he applied was so badly done. I thought I might be over reacting so I asked some others and they all agreed that the nails were absolutely terrible and I should go get them fixed. I'm not one for confrontation, but they hurt so bad and we're too thick to use for anything. As you can see in photos. I am always patient and forgiving and leave good tips, so I expected the shop to hear my complaint and help me out. They said on the phone when my friend called for me, that they'd make it right if I came in in person to discuss it. So I did. I drove the 28 minutes to get there, they said they were too busy to help me, and said they'd issue a full refund but they had to call the card merchant first. I said ok, left my info, and went on. They did not offer to fix, replace, or give me any tips for healing my nails and skin. They called me later to tell me that their boss told them not to refund me, that they'd give me half off, and tried to convince me that I had an acrylic allergy and wasn't cut. They said "we are poor so no refund." And "it happens so oh well" I get it. Business is hard. But as a loyal long time customer, I just wanted to be treated kindly. When I went to another stylist in a different shop she was appalled at the state of my nails and skin. She kept apologizing that this happened to me, and noted how badly cut my skin was over and over. She could not fix the nails they were so badly done, had to remove them all, before she could treat the skin underneath and apply a new set. I am so so exhausted after all of this. I wish I had better things to say. I tried to resolve via email first and never got a response. If you go here, make an apt with one of the experienced stylists. Or you know, just don't. read more

I asked to confirm twice the price for Gel X manicure and I was told $50 when I scheduled then I was charged $60 with no designs. Maybe I misunderstood? But I think prices need to be posted somewhere. Especially online when it's someone's first time and they are deciding where to go. The manicure from Tina on the top view looks pretty good, but underneath the glue was excessive. Maybe that's normal after Gel C manicure? I don't know it was my first time but I brought it to the nail techs attention and she picked away at it a little bit a lot was left. This was my first (and only) visit to Harmony Nails. I had an appointment and was helped immediately. A man (Tommy?) gave me a very good pedicure, but before it was over, a woman came and started to give me a manicure while I was still in the pedicure chair. They were not busy at all so there was no need to rush, but having everything done at once wasn't relaxing. I finally told her I would prefer to wait for the mani until the pedi was ready. She seemed surprised and a little miffed, but waited. The quality of the manicure was fine, nothing special. I want special, so I'll keep looking for a salon. read more

I've visited Harmony Nails twice now and believe I may have found a new nail salon. I recently moved to Winston Salem and visited another salon shortly after arriving. I knew I would not be going back so I searched for another salon - based on ratings, and booked a gel manicure/pedi at Harmony nails. My first experience was positive. I arrived late but I did not have to wait. The tech who removed my old polish tried two different colors on her own nails to illustrate what it would look like for me. She also took care to remove the gel polish first with acetone then with an emory board - before using the nail dremel. The latter can be damaging when used often and primarily to remove gel so I appreciated they used the dremel last and sparingly. I get gel manicures once a month so nail health is important to me. They also took care to trim my cuticles with a cuticle clipper vs., using the dremel - as other salons do. Over use of the dremel as a primary tool - while faster and easier for the technician - can cause long term nail damage. My second visit was equally positive. Maria, who completed my gel manicures both times, was careful not to overclip my cuticles, which I also appreciated. All of the technicians and the owner were very friendly, polite, and customer-focused. Both the customer service, and care to detail and mindfulness of the impact of their techniques and tools impressed me. I recommend this salon, and the fee is very reasonable at $35 for a gel manicure- $45 with tip. PS: the salon was able to squeeze me in on the eve of Christmas Eve, and distributed gifts to patrons. I've been coming to Harmony Nails for at least 6 years or so. I absolutely love it. They have great prices. They also offer waxing services. I get my eyebrows waxed here sometimes. But I mainly go to get my nails done. The owners, Landon and Jenny, are so nice. And funny too! The other nail techs are also very kind. Unfortunately I don't know any of their names other than Amy and Nancy. They have so many colors to choose from. Whether it's regular nail polish, gel (shellac), or SnS. I used to do gel a lot. But nowadays I do SnS on my nails and sometimes regular polish for a pedicure. If you get a pedicure I highly reccomend the "lemon" pedicure. It smells amazing. read more

Pedicure: Gel soak off and lemon pedicure is way too expensive for what it is. The massage part was very short if they were to keep price. The guy cut my nails very short and started filing them to the point I had to let him know it hurt. I felt bad for saying anything but it did hurt. Unfortunately, I had a poor experience. The nails I requested were incorrect (I asked for almond and I don't even know what kind of shape I ended up with? Some short odd mess. ) I brought in a photo of a nail design I would like and colors black and gold and asked if they could do it. The man in charge said yes..: fast forward to 2 hours later... the nail shape was wrong and when the technician went to do my nails, she tried to put glitter instead of gold. It was a disappointment because the designer was comprised of two colors, one which they didn't have. Long story short, I wasted 2 hours on subpar acrylics with regular polish rather than what I came in for. *** these are suppose to be "almond" shaped nails. read more

I have found my new nail salon! I really don't get my nails done often but when I need to I will be coming to see Jenny here. At other area nail salons I have just felt that the manicures have not been great quality; people seem to rush through it and not evenly coat my nails in polish and leave a big space at the cuticle. Not the case here! Jenny took her time with every nail, even though I was there past closing she did not rush to finish, she took her time. I went in on a Wednesday night and it was pretty slow. If you don't want a wait I would suggest heading in then. They have about 8-10 pedicure chairs so if you had a group and wanted to come in for pedicures the setup is really nice. Close enough where you could talk to everyone but not be on top of each other. The basic pedicure took more time than the basic pedicures at other places. They scrub your legs down, use a hot towel and then moisturize. Same with the manicure. The place is very clean. Jenny mentioned they just remodeled a few months ago and updated everything. While I was there, there was a woman who must have swept the place five times to ensure it was spotless for closing. If you are interested in a nail design ask Jenny, she will show you her Pinterest page of things she can do. I will probably go for a design next time. For a pedicure, manicure, and drying time I was there for about two hours. It came to $37, which was very reasonable for the level of care and service I received. The plaza/exterior isn't much to look at but don't let that deter you since the interior is very nice. I will be back! read more

When I walked in, I asked for SNS French & how much for a pedicure. Ok..... I then proceeded to ask how much to decorate 2 nails? I popped in here around 11:00am on a Tuesday for a pedicure. I didn't have an appointment but they weren't too busy at the time so they were able to take me right away. The salon is very clean and the people who greeted me were very friendly. The pedicure chairs have more massage settings than I've ever seen! I kept trying to figure out the settings when I finally just turned it off and enjoyed my feet getting worked on. I chose the NU pedicure. The lady who worked on my feet was really sweet and gentle. The exfoliating scrub, and hot stone massage were awesome! She also did a great job with the polish and didn't rush me at all to leave before I was comfortable with my nails being dry. I felt the prices were really reasonable for the quality of service too. I'll definitely go back. read more

Today was my first time here but I've seen this place numerous times when I would go get ice cream at TJ delis. Walk ins are welcome but I called ahead and was able to get in quickly. The whole process for my white tip acrylics took less than 45m. Due to covid, the place has a wall shield between you and the nail tech, sanitizers throughout, masks worn, one seating per section but most importantly a sink with soap for proper hand hygiene. I usually love Harmony but had a pedicure with someone different today. I felt very uncomfortable. He kept saying, "Does this feel good?" and it gave me a creepy vibe. I know sometimes I'm asked if the water or towels are too hot or something is tickling my feet but he repeatedly asked if things felt good and rubbed my feet in what felt like an intimate way. Nice little nail spot close to my house. I stopped in because I got an ad that said they do SNS, which is my preferred method. When you walk in, it is nice inside. I think they just remodeled and it's very calming. They have 8 nail stations and maybe 8 pedicure stations. The thing I think that makes they different than the other nail salons I've been to in the area is that they have this station of herbs, plants and oils that you can use in your pedi and it makes it this whole new experience. They put these together to create a special aromatherapy to take you away! I wish I knew the real name of it but I just can't remember right now. I also love that in each pedi bowl they put a new plastic liner. I appreciate their extra effort of sanitation. The SNS is probably the best I've ever gotten. A lot of the other places I've been for it, it chips, peels off, or just doesn't last. I went almost a full month with my last set and had zero(!) problems. I asked for a certain color and the owner told me they didn't have it but later he asked me again what it was, that he wanted to get it in SNS for future appointments. I have tried so many different nail processes from silk wrap, acrylic nails and most recently, gel nails. I do not like gels because they have to peal the gel all the way off which is damaging to my real nail. Silk wrap seems to be the easiest on the nail, but has become a lost art. Harmony was recommended to me so I gave it a try. Mostly, what I liked is the process they use with the powder or "pearls." The Technician, Tina, was fast and professional. My nails have held up very well and I will now go there regularly. It is a relief to be confident in the process and technician! 8 months later......since posting this review, I have gone back to having natural nails. There is nothing like the real thing...baby. Growing out damaged nails requires patience. ..all worth it. The miracle potion is "nail-aid collagen nail builder" by Sallie Hanson.
