I've known Emily for 3 years now, first as a client of hers and now as a colleague. At risk of…read moresounding dramatic, she quite literally changed my life with my obnoxious adolescent Golden Retriever. My dog was horribly mouthy and unruly when we met Emily, and after a scarring experience with a different trainer in the area, my hope and faith were kinda down in the dumps. Emily, with her no-nonsense attitude and plethora of dog knowledge, left me with hope, homework and a multitude of things to ponder - Am I communicating clearly and fairly? Am I giving him everything he needs to be successful? A year and a half after our first session, Emily helped train the same (now less obnoxious) Golden Retriever on an e-collar so he could achieve full off-leash freedom. Emily has been, by far, one of the best investments I've made in my dog's life. I run a dog-walking company and refer my clients out to her and everyone is as amazed by her as I am. She answers all your questions about training for life, which is invaluable and puts on amazing events with other knowledgable trainers. She even organizes a free monthly pack walk where owners and their dogs can come learn to walk together in a neutral environment. My world with my dog opened up significantly since meeting Emily and we can't thank her enough.

I left a review on google which she replied "i have no one of this name and this never happened"…read more But it absolutely did happen. During a training Emily took my dog which had a choker on walked it to another dog that barked at my dog then proceeded to choke my dog behind her back while using the leash as leverage over her shoulder. A group of 20 people watched this and thats when I was done. Emily you know what you did and you cant push the illusion you haven't done this. It was beyond inappropriate and could have lasting physical effects on the dogs. Up until this point you were pretty good with the dog but there was something "off" that day and it was taken out on my dog. Other people should know this.

It sure is hard to find an animal chiropractor in San Diego. I am so happy that I found Dr. Paul…read more I have 4 senior dogs with different issues. My dad was a chiropractor and sometimes helped animals so I knew the benefits for them. Right now Dr. Paul is at Sorrento Valley and Escondido locations. While a bit further than I would hope, the drive is totally worth it. My pets receive amazing care. Between the chiropractic treatment and the laser therapy, the targeted approach has made an obvious difference in my pets' quality of life. Dr. Paul is really nice and so good with the animals. He's really great and if you are even slightly considering chiropractic for your dog, you should give it a try, and specifically with Dr. Paul.

We began treatment with Dr. Paul and Louise immediately had improved walking and was able to build her endurance back for longer walks! I feel so grateful for Dr. Paul. He's very gentle and understanding with my high energy and very determined dog. He also teaches you, as the pet owner, about what his process for assessing the injury/misalignments as well as practical stretches in order to best support your pet to maintain their improvements. It feels so wonderful to trust that my pet is in good and genuinely caring hands during her visits. I can't say enough good things to describe how positive our experiences have been with Dr Paul. Thank you!

L-O-L-O-L-O-V-E Dr. Kangas!!!! Such a great, calm, and relaxing place to go with my Sammie bears!…read more You go in and everyone is talking in a calm, relaxing tone. The atmosphere is totally chill and everyone is welcoming and friendly. You wait in the reception area and there's a huge doggie bed there and some zen like Calvin stuff to set the mood. The reception table is a little ghetto but they're just getting started so you gotta cut them some slack there. Dr Kangas is so kind and thoughtful with her examination. She listens carefully and provides several solutions that are practical and almost completely natural. Her solutions are so natural that I've even applied some to my life in human form. I've come away with so many natural remedies and supplements that it's insane. Can't believe how amazing this care is. I even got a full raw/natural food plan for my Sammie! Everyone should go to Dr. Kangas right away!!!

I highly recommend Dr Katie Kangas if you are looking for a integrative/holistic veterinarian in the San Diego area ( but we drive from the inland empire because we love her so much )

I had a very disappointing and concerning experience at this vet office and would strongly caution…read moreothers before bringing their pets here, especially if you have a working dog breed. During our visit with Dr. Hackett, I felt like I was unnecessarily alarmed and pushed toward additional testing that turned out to be completely unnecessary. I brought in my two dogs, including my Border Collie, whose heart rate Dr. Hackett immediately treated as a serious concern. She made it sound like something could be very wrong and suggested multiple tests to rule out an emergency situation. My border collie also gets seizures which I told Dr. Hackett about and she told me she thought they are fainting spells due to his low heart rate, not seizures. Which I also got confirmations he definitely has seizures and nothing else like she suggested. After leaving very worried, I sought second opinions from other veterinarians. They all reassured me that my Border Collie's heart rate was completely normal for the breed and that they have seen even lower heart rates in athletic dogs like him despite his seizures. What was presented to me as potentially alarming was actually very typical. The same thing happened with my senior dog. Dr. Hackett told me her kidney and liver values were elevated and strongly pushed further testing, making it sound urgent. When I had another vet review the labs, they explained the values were only slightly elevated and extremely common in older dogs. They even told me she is far more likely to pass from old age before those numbers would ever reach liver failure levels. They also mentioned the slight elevation could simply be due to her high-protein diet. The experience left me feeling like fear was used to push unnecessary testing rather than providing balanced, knowledgeable guidance. It caused a lot of unnecessary stress and extra expense. Because of this, I would personally recommend seeking care elsewhere and getting a second opinion if you are ever told something is urgently wrong here.

He finally came out a few hours later, with help from several neighbors. He needed urgent help and I started at my neighborhood vet, Rancho San Carlos Pet Clinic. Charlie and I were offered immediate assistance. All of the staff were so kind and showed great care as we determined Charlie's injuries. They were calm, and therefore, he was calm. After X-rays and CT of his organs, he showed that he had no broken bones or punctured organs/internal bleeding! However, he did require reattachment of his skin to his bones on one of his hind legs and stitches on his other leg. A huge thanks to Dr. Halsey and her team and we were sent quickly to Tell Tail Moonlight Veterinary Center in Encinitas, where they were ready and waiting for Charlie! The office staff was also very kind and caring and the facility is very clean-I didn't even detect that it was a veterinary center with my nose. Dr. Soares was very thoughtful and thorough explaining the surgery plan, and her team successfully completed the surgery, as well as a toe amputation. They worked on him well past closing time. Veterinary angels, if you ask me! Hands down, I would give my highest recommendation to both of these businesses for your veterinary needs. I saw a lot of happy pets and happy owners that day while I waited for Charlie! I'm a huge fan!
