We are beyond grateful for Dr. Stewart's care and expertise. Our dog has always struggled with very full anal glands, and in the past we were told the only option was full sedation--which was very concerning since she has a heart condition. To make matters harder, we were advised to try managing it ourselves at home, which just wasn't realistic or safe for us to do. Dr. Stewart came to our home and completely changed the experience. Not only was she able to quickly and efficiently express our dog's glands without sedation, but she also managed to check her ears--something our dog has never allowed a vet to do before. Dr. Stewart suggested my cat be taken for er surgery for a blockage - So we did- then she dropped off my cat after a botched surgery. He died the next day in my home. She came and euthanized him and charged me for both. fast forward 3 years and Im still a patient of hers?? I have a cat with asthma she has seen for 6 years. She and her team refused to call in a px that they have always done, but this time it was an issue. When I raised concern and decided to change vets she canceled my px and said too bad !! even though my cat needs his meds. PLEAES READ COMMENTS AND AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!! Love Dr. Stewart and her team. I got referred to Ranch House Vet from a work friend and what a GAME changer! Having a mobile vet come to your home has been a revolution. Not only is it less stressful for me and my dogs, it is not noticeably more expensive and her team is amazing. I originally starting using RHV for my older dog Pita, who I had been treating with laser therapy for arthritis for years. While she has had a lot of improvement with laser, getting her in and out of the car several times a month is hard on her joints. Plus the stress of driving her and waiting in the vets office, which always takes longer than you think, has always made going to the vet less than ideal. Dr. Stewart combines láser and acupuncture therapy for arthritis in the comfort of your home! Less stressful mentally and physically on her joints by not having to take her in! Her team of techs are always so friendly and sweet to my baby girl, being so thoughtful as to play relaxing music and give her homemade popsicles while she gets her treatment. I then started utilizing RHV for pretty much everything, including blood work and shots. My other dog Scooter got a pretty bad ear infection. Scooter is notoriously a challenge at the vet and needs to be sedated for most routine things including ear exams. Dr. Stewart safely sedated him gently at home and was able to treat his ears, and stayed to monitor him for another hour while the sedation wore off. I can't say enough great things about Ranch House Vet. I recently moved to FL and one of the things I am most sad about is having to find another vet. She did her best to explain it away, but our beloved Frenchie died in her care. I haven't written a Yelp review in 4 years, but my experience with Ranch House was so frustrating I felt the need to come out of retirement. I first called Dr. Stewart due to my cat having some *bathroom* issues. To start with the good - Dr. Stewart was very sweet with my cat and made him feel very comfortable. Her demeanor made me feel comfortable as well as he hadn't been to a vet in MANY years and I wasn't sure how he'd react. Now the rest - On the first visit, Dr. Stewart & her team forgot 3 things: their x-ray machine, a thunder blanket, and specialty litter needed for collecting samples. Each time Dr. Stewart's assistant went back to the car, she arrived back with another "oopsie". It was bizarre and they didn't seem prepared, but oh well. Next, Dr. Stewart arranged a call with me to go over my cat's results from the first visit. She never called. After following up, we arranged a second call. She did not call again. Finally on the third try, we connected. She administered new cat food and medication, but had additional concerns and no clear diagnosis. So, Dr. Stewart requested x-rays. We got the x-rays on the books a little under 1 month after the first visit. I did request a waived house fee due to the team forgetting the x-ray machine on the first visit, which they honored. 1 point to Ranch House for that. Before taking the x-rays, the RH team started discussing sedation. I reminded them that Dr. Stewart let me know we can try the x-rays without sedation first (mentioned on our first call) and my cat successfully sat for the x-rays without sedation. Another oversight. That visit was 5+ weeks ago. I've consistently followed up via phone and text since that second visit. I was told about 3 weeks ago I should have the x-ray results "this evening". Then, finally received another update that Dr. Stewart did receive the x-ray/radiology report a week and a half ago. I requested the report emailed to me - the email is conveniently missing the entire report attachment. I've followed up several times about the missing report and have again been ignored. When calling this morning, Jeanette hung up on me. I received a refill of my cat's medication (I ordered the transdermal cream, but was given the oral cream instead because why should I expect something with RH to go right). I still do not have a diagnosis for my cat after 2 months. Maybe Dr. Stewart has no idea what's wrong with my cat and prefers to avoid the issue altogether, but after spending thousands with no answers and many mishaps, I'm frustrated. I needed a mobile vet because I have an 18 1/2 year old dog and thought it would be better for both of us. It was a horrible experience. She said I can see you love the dog but it's too bad you have neglected him. Not true I'm devoted to him. Said too bad I was so uneducated about dogs and the mobile vet experience. Said my vet should have educated me. Toby has a heart murmur but she gave him no medication. I think things really started to turn south when I balked at paying $266 to their wellness program and $500 for a chest ex ray for Toby. I wanted to think about the chest ex ray I tried reporting this to Ranch House but no return calls for a week. I got one message saying they wanted to schedule the next appointment Dr Stewart was rude and I told her this calmly as she was exiting. We have been given alternatives that have helped cookie and never felt pressured to do anything. Cookie loves the treats given as well as kitty kitty and kitty meow meow. It's taken me a while to write this review only because I haven't really been able to speak about my baby since he's been gone... we all get animals knowing that we will most likely outlive them and the day will come that we will have to say goodbye. When that day came for me and my baby (Lync) Dr.Stewart was literally heaven sent. I had a 12-year-old blue pitbull who was my whole world, he was the only constant in my life all of my awkward 20s... when Dr. Stewart and her assistant came in their energy was so amazing and they were so informative and gentle with our broken hearts. My whole family was there to say goodbye to him and she gave us so much time to greave and get our last kisses and cuddles. She was so reassuring that I was making the right decision given my dogs situation. For being something terrible that we have to go through she made it the most peaceful amazing experience! I couldn't have planned it any better... not only was she a ray of sunshine on that very dark day in my life but she personally delivered my babies ashes and gifts to me as well once they came in. Dr. Stewart said that my much-loved cat would pass away within two minutes after the euthanasia fluid was injected into her vein. Thirty minutes later, I was still holding my dying cat in my arms, hearing "It will be any time now." Dr. Stewart had to have her assistant bring back the supplies from the car where they had already been packed(!) and start the process over again--shave another leg and find another vein. All in all, it took two injections of sedative (the second one given when Cinna was in obvious distress), 6 doses of Propofol, and at least 4 doses of euthanasia fluid (one directly into her stomach). I held my dying cat on my chest for more than an hour before she passed. And when it was over and Cinna was taken from my arms, my sleeve was soaked in blood that had come out of her nose. If my husband and I had not been afraid Cinna would wake up in terrible pain, we would have asked Dr. Stewart to leave long before the end of this heart-wrenching ordeal. This was one of the most horrible experiences we have ever gone through. read more

Based on all the positive reviews and Dr Stewart being mobile, wanted to get her second opinion after checking my French Bull dogs Cushings Symptoms and lab work. It was scary seeing the lab results from my dog's regular vet who had dx and been treating for Cushings. I asked for a copy of the lab work and there was no contact or explanation from the vet about what all the numbers meant. The vet who had been treating her kept insisting the skin conditions were allergies which in fact were obvious symptomatic of Cushings. Also the vet said she had a UTI. Due to COVID, I was not allowed in the room where my dog was seen or to see the vet for any questions I might have. I had to wait in my car until the exam was done. They prescribed two high powered antibiotics to which my dog had a severe reaction. After taking the medication for a couple of days, my dog started shaking, not eating, pooping a bright yellow soft bowel movement, and was in great distress. I contacted the vet and they just wanted to change to new antibiotic. I could not give to my dog any medication by mouth because she was throwing up and RX couldn't be taken on an empty stomach. It seemed pretty overwhelming and the vet wanted me to bring her back in where it is a 30 minute drive one way to get to their office. It is problematic due to me being senior and care giver for a husband who has memory impairment so can't leave him alone but he had to wait in car for 1 hour and 45 minutes at our last visit to the existing vet office. This is what lead me to finding a mobile vet thinking my dog might have to be euthanized as she was having hard time breathing, not responding to touch as she normally would, and not eating. It is so epic, I don't have enough room to describe the difference and awesome care that Dr Stewart and her assistant Gail provided. When I called their office, Sonja, helped set up their visit and was so very kind. Dr Stewart and Gail gave me such confidence in their love for their patient, in this case my poor baby. Dr Stewart, so wise and knew exactly what to do. She reviewed her lab work, she took a urine sample direct from bladder with syringe to avoid getting contaminated results, gave my baby a nausea shot, a antibiotic shot, and instructions until her next visit and follow up. By the end of day, my dog improved so much she could eat. I continued giving in her anti nausea pills for the next couple of days and had no problem giving the other needed medication. Dr Stewart gave me a tip on how to get my dog to take medicine which I had great difficulty in past to do. She came back for a follow up visit to advise my dog did not have UTI but to still continue antibiotics due to the skin condition. She recommended liver supplement and thyroid pills which has great assisted with the affects of Cushings on the skin, as well as the excessive thirst and overwhelming amounts of urination my dog voids. There are so many differences and reasons I am afraid I can't list them all. But I have to say, I am not afraid of caring for my dog anymore like I was because Dr Stewart totally has the experience and knowledge beyond any other vet I have ever experienced. With a French Bull dog, not all vets seem to understand their issues which appears common to all who know the breed. Reading a couple of reviews on this site that were negative, it doesn't sound like they are talking about the same vet I know and have experienced in Dr Stewart or her staff. read more

It was a total blessing that I was able to find Ranch House Veterinary Services. Dr. Stewart is very knowledgeable, pleasant and totally engaged at the task in hand. My senior dog, Lola was diagnosed with Cushing's in March 2019 and started taking Vetoryl. Then a couple week s later she went blind. I began researching the disease and wanted to know if she was Atypical. Atypical Cushing's is much easier to treat with lesser side effects, not to mention if she was Atypical, the Vetoryl she was taking may cause blindness. When I tried twice to ask the Veterinarian who diagnosed her if she was Atypical, all I got was a blank stare and then the subject changed. So I left it alone. It was then by chance that I encountered a neighbor who was walking his dog. After a short conversation, he told me that his dog had Atypical Cushing's. I immediately asked him who was his doctor and he replied Ranch Houser Veterinary Services aka Jennifer Stewart, DVM et al. OMG a veterinarian who knows what Atypical Cushing's is, not to mention one that make house calls. I was so excited and I immediately scheduled an appointment. During this same time, my kitty, Tofu was at an emergency hospital. He had stop eating, drinking and both of his eyes were infected. Tofu had spent 4 nights at the hospital with a fever that would not break. The hospital thought it was an upper respiratory infection and treated as such but 4 nights and extensive blood tests, they could not figure out what was wrong with him. They gave him antibiotics, syringed fed him and kept him on IV fluids. Thousands of dollars later and with no certainty of what was wrong with him, I brought Tofu home to what I thought was for him to die. I asked Dr. Stewart if she could take a look at Tofu when she came for Lola's appointment and she made it happen. Dr. Stewart and her technician examined Tofu, gave him subcutaneous fluids, obtained a urine sample (by syringe, a first for me) and drew Tofu's blood. Also a shout out to her technician, Julia who came out in the subsequent days later and brought me supplies and taught me how to give Tofu subcutaneous fluids myself. Needless to say Dr. Stewart diagnosed Tofu with something (Mycoplasma Haemofelis) that I never heard of. She then prescribed him with an appropriate antibiotic. Within a few hours of the medication, Tofu's fever diminished and a week later, he is back to his ornery self. I cannot express the appreciation I have for Dr. Stewart and her team. They saved Tofu's life and that my only regret is that I did not meet them sooner. It is so refreshing to meet a knowledgeable Veterinarian that keeps current. I have 7 fur-babies and 4 different veterinarians and guess what... they all now have one new lady doctor. I have yet to tap into Dr. Stewart's other talents like laser therapy and acupuncture but it's comforting to know that they are there if I need them. As for Lola, Dr. Stewart is going to administer a special, time consuming blood draw to determine if Lola has Atypical Cushing's. Finally, I am going to find out either way if Lola has Atypical Cushing's. Fingers crossed. Very grateful... read more

I would be sure to ask the charges. She ran up a $800 bill with my house sitter while I was on vacation and never did the procedure I ask her do. She never gave us a bill or asked for any signatures from my house sitter. When I called to get the bill her schedule person wouldn't tell me the cost either until I finally pressured her to do so. Then they said I was "rude" because I wanted to know the charges! Then she cancelled after giving my cat fluids and keeping her trapped in a bathroom for 3 hours in order to get the urine sample. She called and cancelled telling my house sitter to let the cat out that she was going to her daughters dance recital. Anyway 800 dollars later no urine sample! So unprofessional. Got a quite in writing from the veterinarian, then had to call and schedule an appointment. The customer service person had a screaming child in the background and told me another differing amount than what the vet quoted me. I then get a quote via email for yet a THIRD amount, saying "we will schedule an appointment " but I already had one scheduled. I get a corrected quote (second quote sent, fourth different amount) that had incorrect milage charges and then receive a third quote that was higher than the original amount quoted to me by the vet. Another phone call with Amber and her screaming child in the background and they "put my appointment on hold for now, pending record review." I never heard from them again. I have since gone with a much more professional and responsive mobile vet who now sees both my cats. I would never trust my precious babies to someone so u organized. read more

I have a very old Mastiff who is 147 lbs and I can't get her in and out of my car anymore to go to the vet. My regular vet, Pacific Animal Hospital, recommended these guys and I have to say that I am extremely happy with the service that they provided. They showed up with masks on, we conducted the whole exam outside, and they had everything that they would need with them. I don't think I have ever had such a thorough exam on my dogs. Their prices were competitive, especially since they are doing house calls. I honestly was expecting them to ask for my first born child, but it wasn't really any more than I pay at my regular vet- and 2 vets came out to my house. They were gentle and kind with my old girl, and they even took a look at my other dog and answered my questions about her. Recently I noticed that Vader, the older of the two, was having some hearing issues, neither of these cats travel well so I called Dr. Jennifer A. Stewart Dvm (actually I Facebook'd her) to setup a house call appointment. I love that she offers this! The team showed up and the experience was great! First it's like a sneak attack, the cats had no idea so no drama before the vet appointment. Three people showed up (usually it's Dr. Jennifer A. Stewart Dvm & Lisa Eckert-Mette vet assistant - today we had a training assistant) and they are really a mobile vet, drew blood & fluids, weighed and vaccinated. They did everything you would do at a check up visit at the vet at my house.....too cool! Sooooo much nicer then trying to get them into the car and to the vet. No pre or post drama. Pets don't smell like the vet and you can get them calmed quickly because they feel secure at home. They took fabulous care of my cats, turns out that the issues I thought I had were not the real issues. She is thorough, gentle, very knowledgeable, and affordable! I recommend exercising extreme caution before filling your pet's prescriptions through Ranch House's "inhouse" Pharmacy. We were hard pressured to use their pharmacy. Our experience was filling the prescription through Ranch House was more than twice the price of our prior pharmacy, inaccurate record keeping indicated a prescription we did not order had been delivered to our home, billing errors made us unsure if we had been charged accurately, & a shortage of medication delivered that the Veterinarian did not resolve despite multiple attempts on my part. When we opted to use our prior pet pharmacy, Dr. Stewart refused to return our pharmacies calls or approve any prescriptions over the phone to our pharmacy. When we had enough and asked for a paper prescription to provide to our preferred pharmacy, Ranch House staff called to state Dr. Stewart no longer wanted to be our veterinarian. Then they illegally charged our credit card without our permission for the prescription that was shorted that they did not resolve. Nor have they responded to our attempt to resolve the illegal credit card transaction. read more

I am so grateful for Dr. Stewart, Jeanette and the rest of the staff at Ranch House. We are new to the California area and hadn't established a vet for our bunnies yet. When we had an emergency situation with my youngest bunny, Dr Stewart let us bring our bunny right to her house and gave us the best care there. I am so thankful we found such an amazing vet! My little doggy, Skittles, had to go for her well-doggy exam. As a new "doggy mommy" with my newly adopted "terri-huahua", I had no reference as to where to go. So I took her to a fairly well known place in town. With no medical records except for Skittles' 1st puppy exam, they gave her 3 vaccines. Skittles had a moderately severe reaction to the rabies vaccine. She could barely walk, was nauseated and I was just sick. I didn't want to take her back to "that place", so I called a bunch of my friends and colleagues and told them about what was going on and several of them recommended Dr. Jennifer Stewart. I found her on facebook and sent her a message and then found the phone number on Google and called. She actually answered the phone! I explained everything and she dropped what she was doing and came to my office! She took 10 mins to just get to know my little one and began examining her. She basically saved her life. I recommend her any chance I get! I even find myself asking my colleagues... "do you have pets?" and then if they say yes I say "do you have a vet you are extremely happy with?" Dr. Stewart is an amazing person and obviously passionate about her work! No more challenges at a vet hospital or clinic! Dr. Stewart comes to my home with her team! Thank you Dr. Stewart! read more
