I saw improvement with Meatball's arthritis in a few weeks, whereas I did not see much improvement at the place where I took Meatball to first. I wish I found Dr. Sosna right away. Dr. Sosna is impressive at taking "doctor jargon" and simplyiing it in a way I (as a non-doctor) can understand. She is personable, patient, kind, honest, dedicated, and a great resource for my many other non-physical therapy dog-related health questions. Dr. Sosna understands my dog's needs, and the care and support she has given him is beyond excellent. If you are searching for a rehab center for your pet or just thinking about it, you will not regret your time with Dr. Sosna. I look forward to taking Meatball there, and Meatball likes it so much he does not want to leave. Dr. Sosna is top notch, and I cannot say enough great things about her and her team at Animal Acupuncture & Rehab.

Dr. Sosna gave me a lot of practical advice about how to care for my big boy as his condition progressed and the staff were terrific with him. It's not what we wanted (him gone) but it was the right thing to do since he had become ill and wasn't wanting to eat. In contacting them over the phone and sharing our situation, the attendant was extremely responsive and empathetic to our situation. As the date got closer, our poor boy declined quicker and we even had to move the date up. The company was super flexible and understanding and we were grateful they were able to accommodate this move to two days earlier. When the day came, we were certainly sad. When Dr. Benson arrived, she was soft spoken and kind. She greeted Moose and as soon as he noticed someone had walked in he got up and wagged his tail the best he could. This scene brought me to tears because that was the essence of who Moose was as our pet. He loved ALL humans and was always seeking their attention. Dr. Benson pet Moose and gave him love and affection. He received it and then went to his bed shortly after. She explained the process to us from start to finish. She was gentle in her wording and handling of every last detail. We set Moose up in one of his favorite sunning spots in the yard on his bed. And gracefully, Moose crossed over the rainbow bridge. We were given plenty of time to spend with Moose as the sedative worked and then after the final moments we were able to say our final goodbyes. The gentlemen who came to take care of Moose afterwards was soft spoken and extremely kind. He took care of Moose and left respectfully as he came. We are so grateful from start to finish how this went with our beloved boy. We will forever miss him. But the send off he was given will be forever a part of his journey. Thank you, Paws into Grace. Your whole team are gems.

However, there were some not so great things or improvements they should consider. Initial call with the lady to schedule was alright. She honestly didn't cover much of information, I felt like I had to ask her a lot of questions that she initially didn't mention. If she can slowly just go over from start to finish, it would've eased my mind a little bit more during this horrible time. In details... I know this is a business, but also this isn't something people go through every year (hopefully). The doctor came and she was very understanding of the situation. It felt like she was genuinely sorry for what we were going through as she also lost hers not long ago. I do wish that she would've stepped outside the house to give me little more privacy, but it is what it is. Im sure I could've asked. She did her best in the circumstances. Now, the worst part of this experience was the picking up the ashes. It took me 1 hour round trip to get there and it took 2 seconds to get her back and leave the place. The lady came out with a brown bag and hurried me out the door. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but that wasn't it. I was dumbfounded of like what just happened? Can I at least take a moment to open the bag to see what's all inside? Take a moment to just take it all in that I'm picking my child up as ashes? It felt like 'ok, you paid me, now you can go' vibe. It would've been nice to just take a moment instead of being rushed out. Also not sure why they don't offer drop off, I know a lot of people would pay extra for that so at least they are home when they receive the ashes back and go back to cry all they want at home. I really do appreciate what this company does, but there are something that need some improvements.

The doctor's, technicians and front office staff were extremely kind and listened to us without judgment. They found out my fur baby, Abby, had high levels of bacteria due to a tick disease which absolutely hit me like a train. All of our dogs have always been on flea and tick prevention, but nothing is 100%. They immediately started her on an antibiotic to kill this in her system. The doctor and staff took time to explain everything to us as we were extremely fearful of losing her. We are definitely going to keep them as our vet team and forever grateful for their support getting thru this. I highly recommend them

During our visit with Dr. Hackett, I felt like I was unnecessarily alarmed and pushed toward additional testing that turned out to be completely unnecessary. I brought in my two dogs, including my Border Collie, whose heart rate Dr. Hackett immediately treated as a serious concern. She made it sound like something could be very wrong and suggested multiple tests to rule out an emergency situation. My border collie also gets seizures which I told Dr. Hackett about and she told me she thought they are fainting spells due to his low heart rate, not seizures. Which I also got confirmations he definitely has seizures and nothing else like she suggested. After leaving very worried, I sought second opinions from other veterinarians. They all reassured me that my Border Collie's heart rate was completely normal for the breed and that they have seen even lower heart rates in athletic dogs like him despite his seizures. What was presented to me as potentially alarming was actually very typical. The same thing happened with my senior dog. Dr. Hackett told me her kidney and liver values were elevated and strongly pushed further testing, making it sound urgent. When I had another vet review the labs, they explained the values were only slightly elevated and extremely common in older dogs. They even told me she is far more likely to pass from old age before those numbers would ever reach liver failure levels. They also mentioned the slight elevation could simply be due to her high-protein diet. The experience left me feeling like fear was used to push unnecessary testing rather than providing balanced, knowledgeable guidance. It caused a lot of unnecessary stress and extra expense. Because of this, I would personally recommend seeking care elsewhere and getting a second opinion if you are ever told something is urgently wrong here.

After getting the referral I called to get scheduled. For a business open 24/7 no one ever answered the phone. I ended up going on the website and filling out a "Contact us" form. I will say the from the time I entered the contact us the contact that was made (via email) was quick (same day) requesting more info. The next day I had an email about a consultation appt (which was scheduled 29 days later- includes weekends). In the email they stated the consultation would be $265 for an hour. It was interesting my vet had recommended us to the hospital for oncology but we were then scheduled an appt with surgery (I am not sure if they had the records from the vet and that is why they went surgery not oncology or what). The day of our appt they ask you arrive early and like any appt nowadays you get there early to be seen 10-15 minutes after your appt time. The first part of the consultation was the vet tech asking about why we were there and putting the info in. They took my dog to be weighed and get other stats, then brought them back. The Dr (surgeon) came in and had a believe a resident with him. The dr explained what was the recommendation (surgery) but answered all my questions, even ones about what would happen if I did not do surgery (it is expensive). The dr was kind and understanding and said it was ok if I chose to do nothing. He gave me signs to look out for if my pet was in distress or decline as quality of life would need to be assessed. I got the actual quote for the surgery and it was $1500 less than the Dr had estimated (which was appreciated) and the vet tech went over some of the charges I may not incur if they are not needed (blood transfusion, extra night in hospital). I appreciated that they were willing to have some flexibility in what is a cost prohibitive procedure. They did not pressure me to make a decision, stated I could call back after having time to think or explore finances (it would require some kind of financial assistance to be able to do the surgery, the vet tech gave us some options she had utilized in the past). The Dr also wrote a rx for essentially dog Tylenol and called it in to Costco to further save money. I understand that Dr's expertise (and the vet tech) needs to be compensated but $265 for talking for less than 30 minutes seems excessive. For about a 45 minute appt with the vet tech/Dr (surgeon) it was about $6 a minute. If you spread it out over the time we were waiting in the lobby not interacting with anyone if brings the cost down to $5 a minute for the hour long consultation. I feel it would have been more reasonable to have a fee of around $150. Parking is very impacted in this area due to many businesses sharing one lot. The spots are also small and people do not park well so you may not be able to get in or out of your car. Overall it was a good experience but an expensive one.

You and your…read moreloved ones will feel properly cared for in their beautifully balanced personal and professional clinic. While every case is, of course, unique, we are SO thrilled to share that we have had enormous success with our young pup's dual hind MPL - from limping to now sprinting about, much of which is thanks to the hard work and care Animals Only provided to our pack. When our 9 month old, mixed, small breed puppy, Zaniyah, had a minor slip and fall and could not bear weight on her left hind, exhibiting a limp, we got her checked immediately, thinking she had a minor accident. It ended up being more than we thought: she was diagnosed with MPL grade 3 in her left hind, grade 1-2 in her right hind, and both her hind legs exhibiting bone deformity. We knew we were in for a long haul into territory we had never ventured. I immediately sought consultations with rehab clinics to get her what she needed, in hopes to bypass surgery, if possible. Our primary vet, Dr. Stuart at Coast View, suggested Animal's Only along with other clinics. From the moment I called and spoke with Todd, Animal Only's co-owner and manager, I knew they were going to be a great fit for our baby girl, and would offer a plan tailored to her needs. Animal's Only's convenient location , positive, care-forward vibe from the team and Dr. Schuda's kind, supportive and knowledgeable care only solidified my confidence. Zaniyah loved her new friends, right away, too! Our baby girl was gently pre-habilitated with AO for about 2.5 months to get her ready for surgery, mainly utilizing gym sessions and water/hydrotherapy. While the nature of Zaniyah's condition in her left hind ended up requiring surgery, we were able to coordinate with her speciality surgeon in LA alongside AO to give her the best rate of success and full recovery. Dr. Schuda was diligent with keeping Zaniyah's professional team updated, ensuring comprehensive care. Once Zaniyah healed enough from her surgery, approx a month post-op, we resumed PT under AO's care which lasted about 4.5 months. We added some laser therapy to her care alongside the gym and hydro treadmill. We also opted for Adequan injections to help her joints have the proper fluid flow, encouraging healing. We were exceedingly diligent with her at-home care and exercises, adhering to detailed instruction given by Dr. Schuda and the team. From the beginning of our time doing pre-hab/pre-surgery thru her rehabilitation after surgery, Zaniyah loved her time at the clinic, and so did we. While it definitely is a journey of ups and downs - as is the case with the trajectory of this type of healing - so long as you put in the time, care and commitment to the journey, you absolutely will have the support, guidance and top-notch skills needed to get your fur baby to the most optimal outcome. It is worth it. Zaniyah graduated from Animals Only a couple months ago and is truly thriving. She has not needed another surgery despite her right hind still having MPL grade 1-2 and minor skeletal deformity (you'd never be able to tell by looking at her though). We are certain that all the time, effort and care from prehab to rehab directly attributed to our success story. We are SO grateful for Animals Only providing the very best care and love to our pack. You will be, too.
