Bud at home - back to his old self!
    Bri W.

My kitty Bud wasn't feeling well - he was licking himself after using the litter box, crying while he tried to go and peeing on the bed. Knowing that blockages could be very dangerous to him, I called right away and they fit me in on the same day! They were very nice, Bud was treated well and (after a second visit because cats sometimes don't love cooperating) they took a urine sample. The fluids they gave him in the meantime helped tremendously. Turns out Buddy Boy had a sterile inflammation of the bladder - they recommended a special diet and meds and Bud is now back to his old self lounging around the house and getting belly rubs without any litter box issues! Planning on bringing him and his brother back for some routine vaccinations.

In my opinion, I had a very disappointing experience at this vet. I brought my dog in for a general exam in October and mentioned an eye infection that wasn't healing and that he had frequent ear infections from swimming at dog beach. I was told not to worry and that he would be given a general exam and I paid $92 for the general exam plus additional charges for the treatment and medication for his eye. I had an approx. 5-10 minute follow-up appointment one week later where I was charged I believe $100 where they stated the eye had healed. Recently, a friend noticed a large golf ball size lump on my dog's throat. When I brought him back to this vet last week, the staff found seven more in my opinion large lumps across his entire body (diagram the vet gave me uploaded in Yelp). During the exam, a vet tech repeatedly referred to these potentially cancerous tumors (or at best fatty deposits) as "goodies," which felt extremely inappropriate and upsetting to my 9 year old son and I. I was then given an estimate that ranged from $668 to $766 to biopsy 3 to 4 of those lumps, conduct a "radiograph study 2 views" along with another $92 general exam fee. I respectfully asked if the exam fee could be waived given how recently I'd been there and how in my opinion I felt that these potential tumors had to have been there 2 1/2 months earlier when they performed their "general exam" but they refused outright. I then asked that a thorough general exam be conducted at this time and documented. I was still prepared to spend a significant amount of money on my dog's care there, but in my opinion the lack of compassion, insensitivity and flexibility was shocking. Because of this experience, my family and I will be taking our pets to Purple Paws from now on. Additionally, my dog has an ear infection that was discovered by another vet 4 days after his 2nd "general exam" at this vet last week. This review was amended after I was contacted by the owner today because I had not included everything that the $668 to $766 estimate included (estimate uploaded for full transparency in Yelp). However, the estimate was never my issue. My issue is that I paid $92 for what I thought was a general exam the first visit then later told that they only examined his eye "because that was my only complaint" even though in my opinion I paid for a general exam of my dog. Then, I asked for a thorough exam when I brought him the 2nd time after the lump was found, even though in my opinion they should have found the 8 lumps the first time and the ear infection. I was always willing to pay the almost $800 for whatever needed to be done for my dog, I just thought they could have waived the 2nd $92 general exam fee in my opinion and have been more sensitive to the fact that my beloved 9 year old Golden Retriever had just been diagnosed with 8 lumps throughout his entire body that will now need biopsies and whatever else treatment down the road to ensure he lives a long and healthy life for as long as possible.

I WISH I COULD GIVE 10 GOLD STARS!! Dr, Noppinger is FANTASTIC & A.J. at reception is absolutely AMAZING!! I truly have received the best care for my puppy & know they care about him (almost) as much as I do. So grateful to have my best friend getting the care he needs. They go so far above & beyond...I can't recommend them enough.

Dr. Stone, It has been a few years since we moved out of Coronado. My fondest memory is when you sat down on the floor with Calliope when she was a pup and for her first visit. And my lasting impression is about how much you loved them. Calliope crossed the rainbow bridge at the beginning of the pandemic. Apolline and Basil both within the last month. Thanks to your loving care they had a good life. Lasted to 14 and and 15 age ranges. Little Linus is 10 and missing his beagle family and adjusting. Thank you. Thank you.

Before our routine prescription that Dr Liz Noppinger refused to prescribe for us.

I have never wanted to leave a review more in my life than for this veterinarian office. If you want to feel like you're speaking to car salesman then this is the place for you. We included photos to show how incompetent Dr. Liz Noppinger was in treating our dog. Dr. Liz Noppinger will use anxiety, stress, fear, guilt and other negative emotions to get you to think that the dog you have raised for 9 years and had 4 specialists treat over different cities are all stupid compared to her. We spoke with Dr. Liz Noppinger because our dog has a chronic eye issue that we treat with $20 eye drops that need to be prescribed. We brought over 6 years of records when she was diagnosed by an eye specialist who only treats dogs for eye issues. Dr. Liz Noppinger didn't even care. She wanted to retest my dogs eyes at her facility for $600 dollars before prescribing our needed medication and actually quoted us $130-140 solely for eye drops. The car salesman reference was because they kept going back and forth with about 6 different invoices that they would bring into our room when we would laugh at their outrageous prices. They truly want to buy another custom fancy golf cart with diamond stitched leather seats that they park directly in front of the office. Our dog was seen by our specialist who saw her records and was familiar with her issues. We bought the eye drops and within 3 days her eyes are nearly cleared up. (Please refer to images) Dr. Liz Noppinger wanted to perform an entire eye test which involved SCRAPING HER EYES, drawing blood, putting her in a cone for 2 weeks, putting litmus papers in her eyes, and putting our dog on pain killers. Dr. Liz Noppinger was really obsessed with pain killers even after voicing our dogs foul reaction to them. We walked out after refusing 6 invoices and still had to pay $135 for the appointment. Please heed our warning about Dr. Liz Noppinger as she is in this business for the money and will find anything to have you leave paying an extremely high invoice. I really hope the owners swap her due to all the poor reviews and please heed our WARNING about Dr. Liz Noppinger. No matter what you tell her it is her way and it will involve an extremely high bill. We are new residents to Coronado and will be telling all of our neighbors to stay away from this toxic place.

It's not an exaggeration to say that Dr. Mar and Dr. Stone saved our cat's life last summer. Our 13-year old arthritic cat had stopped eating and drinking and using her litter box, and we thought her days were numbered. After taking her to the ER multiple times and getting blood tests, an X-Ray, and an abdominal ultrasound, the ER vet sent us home with oral gabapentin to make her more comfortable. As a last resort, we decided to try taking her to Dr. Mar, whose name I had found on a Google search. Initially I took an iPhone video of our cat hobbling and emailed it to Dr. Mar and asked if she thought there was anything she could do. Dr. Mar wrote back immediately, identifying the probable joints that were causing her trouble, and encouraged me to bring her in right away. Dr. Mar was working once a week at Coronado Veterinary Hospital, so we decided to go there to see her. Our cat received an initial examination by Dr. Stone, who suggested we start her on Solensia injections, and then Dr. Mar came in and performed a chiropractic adjustment and low level laser therapy. The improvement was immediate--she started walking around the vet's office and by the time we got home, our cat was back to jumping on top of the coffee table again. We couldn't believe it. Both Dr. Stone and Dr. Mar have a wonderful energy and rapport with our cat, and we feel so grateful for having them in our cat's life.

Frank's first visit to see Dr. Stone! Special thanks to our Vet Tech, Brittany! He did great & the team loved him!!
