What a delish nosh we had! After quite a bit of shopping in the Alphabet, we needed a little snack - and Harlow's was that spot! I love the interior - it's so darn cute and aesthetic inside! The servers were super helpful with great suggestions and a smile. We had smoothies and a biscuit that was savory and warm and delish! Will return.

Walnut Chorizo Quesadilla

Was very excited to try this place as it's vegan and gluten free! I 100% recommend the biscuits and gravy- it gives a thanksgiving feel. The flavor is great! The kale and veggies paired nicely. The only downfalls were the biscuits were to hard to cut with my fork. The inside of biscuit was soft but the outside was too hard; had to forcefully use my knife. The sweet potatoes were not soft, a bit crunchy. Unfortunately I did not like the walnut chorizo quesadilla. It was very messy to eat. Not sure if it was the cheese or sauce that was gritty, but I did not like the texture. Only had 2 bites of this dish. Nice ambiance. Customer service was ok.

I really had an overall great experience. After some time on this busy street, we stopped into Harlow to grab some food to go and I was happily excited to see the great options of seemingly plant based and focused vegan options, offering house made dishes. Me and my bestie got some chickpea tuna melt sandwiches with house made soup and a selection of fun different beverages offer in the fridges up front. The space / interior is beautiful with bright light peaking in, beautiful plants all around, big ceiling and unique features plus indoor and outdoor seating, some indoor being at the bar top. I'll look forward to eating there at some point and enjoyed the food we took to go. The sandwich was just a little more spiced than I'm used to and the soup was expected to be cream of potato but I think it was a misspeaks and as I said, I enjoyed the soup.

As always, the food here is great! I got the outlaw scramble which I found to be really tasty. The jackfruit was perfect for this dish. The portion size was very large which was nice, my party ended up just getting a couple dishes and sharing. I also tried the strawberry pancakes which were also good! I wish there were more smoothie options without banana. I ended up getting their monthly special Pride smoothie which I was pleased to see had the trans flag colors! I found the smoothie itself to be not very sweet (contrary to what the vibrant colors would imply). Overall, I had a very nice experience and I would go again (and again!).

While visiting Portland, my girlfriend and I were both wanting a quick pick-me-up snack that was healthy so we decided to stop by here after walking by it. The interior is nice and seems like a great place to have a chat with a friend or get some work done. The Sea of Blue was underwhelming. I understand it's a health-focused place but it tasted like 3 blueberries were crushed in a cup of water. In my opinion, definitely not worth +$10. The cashier seemed disinterested and was not really friendly.

I have been craving the Hawthorne mac with chili for so long now, finally had it again today! I should have asked for more kale with mine but totally forgot! Harlow is definitely my go to for vegan Mac n cheese! They have amazing selections for smoothies but that's worth a try! Always my go to for vegan option food if that's what you're going for! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

I was looking for something clean and healthy that wouldn't weigh me down while exploring, so I stopped in and ordered a quinoa dish with veggies. Honestly, it's definitely more for the hardcore vegan or vegetarian crowd. It just wasn't for me. If I were into that style of food, I think I'd love it, but I was hoping for a bit more flavor. It didn't seem like there were any spices or even salt and pepper added, so it was pretty bland. The smoothie, on the other hand, was great and basically became my meal. I'd consider going back to try something different, but I wouldn't have high expectations next time.

Just stopped by to grab a quick juice to go with my husband and it was great! I got a carrot and beet juice (the rising) as well as a the sweet greens drink. The service was nice and the ambiance was light and pleasant. A nice spot for a fresh juice!

Dry Bones Peanut Butter Cookie

Staff was lovely. I've had a golden latte before and it was good. I even like th cafe and location. Why so few stars? The cookies, like many other reviews. They're terrible. Dry and crumbly for both the peanut butter and the trail cookies. I understand the trail can be difficult, but even non-gluten free cafes can make a gluten free peanut butter cookie. I couldn't even finish it, and I refuse to waste food. At least after that cookie I don't need a colonoscopy for another five years, since the cookie definitely scrubbed my internals like a peanut butter brillo pad.

Food was yummy, if not a bit pricey. I suppose that's to be expected at a spot like this. The bowl I got was good, and I highly recommend trying the tahini dressing if you get a salad. Seating is plentiful. Food is delivered to the table, and you are obligated to bus your own table.

Bahn mi and pesto pasta

Food here was amazing. I truly have no words for how good it is. My friends and i came here two days in a row. We all came from seattle and no vegan/vegetarian restaurant here could compare. Also if anyone if turned off by it being gluten free it truly is not even noticeable i didnt even realize until my second visit. Service is quick and its not too expensive. We def want to come back on future trips

Pesto garden scramble with jackfruit and quinoa
Tannu S.

Food is good, casual ambiance with no service. You order the food at the counter and then bus the table yourself. I enjoyed my jackfruit garden scramble in pesto. It reminded me of the jackfruit torta I love from another place. Food is good and a must try especially if you are vegan. However, because there is no cleaning, the tables are generally untidy from the food residue. I hope they add some cleaning at least. PS: They do have eggs in their menu, however, if you want just the whites, that is not an option, which seems ergonomic approach from the chef's perspective but I did find a person on the next table complaining about it.

Flamango Smoothie

I found Harlow through Yelp and I am so glad I did! I needed a break from the usual food options like pizza and burgers. I was looking for veggie filled goodness and that's exactly what I found at Harlow. I ordered the pesto garden scramble. It had quinoa, farm fresh eggs scrambled with seasonal vegetables, roasted yams, potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms, & kale with a walnut basil pesto. I opted out of the roasted walnuts on top. The serving size was a lot larger than I expected. It is a splittable dish. I enjoyed all of the different flavors and textures in this bowl. The pesto was a great sauce for all of the veggies and eggs. I loved this bowl! I also ordered the flamango smoothie. It came with strawberry, mango, banana and almond milk. It was refreshing. The interior of Harlow is really cute and inviting. It has lights, plants, and wooden tables. There is also bar style seating. Parking is street parking and we were lucky to park right in front. The employees did not greet us or say much to us except take our order. I loved the food at Harlow and would definitely return. It's a great option for vegan, gluten-free, and healthy food!

Some seating. I was trying not to get anyone in the photo.

The onigiri is art. And the service is always polite and professional. Always. I was physically at the restaurant the night these one star people were there. From what I could tell sitting at the bar and observing the ID in question, it looked fliiiimssy even from where I was sitting. I kinda get both sides ya know , sure one person in the group wants a drink w dinner but dude just tough it out and have your dinner. Instead they popped off and all started fussing and being entitled and it was just gross. I was enjoying a fantastic dinner but that table was like trying to take the stage. I think they ended up storming out and one girl like stomped off and said she was keeping her cup !! lol I worked in food a long time ago. And I've worked in cannabis under the watchful eye of the olcc so I'm on the servers side. Don't take chances and don't listen to these kids scramble for a secondary ID. Sketch. Go to obon. I had this spot bookmarked for a while, so when I was staying in this area of Portland for a recent…read moretrip, I had to come! Our group came for happy hour/dinner, but really ended up sticking to the happy hour bites. The happy hour food menu was great, it had close to 20 items. There weren't as many drinks included, but the regular cocktail menu had some fun options. We went with quite a variety of items, Shrimp Ceviche, Ahi Tuna Tiradito, Peruvian Fried Chicken Bites, Plantain & Black Bean Empanadas, Brisket Empanadas, Gaucho Bread, Farmers Green Salad, and our one regular menu item, Grilled Octopus. My absolute favorite bite was the Shrimp Ceviche. I've never been a Ceviche fan, but this was fantastic. I also really enjoyed the Ahi Tuna Tiradito and Peruvian Fried Chicken Bites, though pretty much everything was good. The only thing that disappointed me, was the item I was most excited for, the grilled octopus. I had seen some pictures that made me think the tentacle would at least be partially intact, but it was all chopped up, and a little on the chewy side. Service from Tyler was great! He checked in frequently and made sure to stop by before happy hour ended so that we could place another order. Ambiance was very cool, they have a big fishtank as well as a jellyfish tank behind the bar. I thought the jellyfish were fake until someone had mentioned they were in fact real. Would love to come back to get a taste of the full menu, especially since they do a chef's tasting for $62 (at the time I was here at least)!
