Kim's school in Boston, so it was important to me that I find an instructor who had a lot of experience and really understood traditional taekwondo. Master Kim is the real deal. He is personally teaching all the classes (except for the rare occasions when he is teaching a master class elsewhere.) He's one of the OG Korean instructors who understands the art, the reasons for why moves are a certain way, and is really good at explaining things and giving feedback. Super thankful to have found the school. The community of students is great as well! Everyone is polite, respectful, and helpful to each other.

I signed up for the school's email list. I was texted by someone from the school who asked me if I…read morewanted to come in for a class. We agreed I'd come in today (Friday) at 5:30pm. Upon showing up, the door was locked and no one was there. Myself and another new student waited for a bit until the instructor showed up. Apparently class is not until 6pm, but for whatever reason we were told to arrive at 5:30pm. The instructor said he'd speak to the person who told us that. The instructor sat down with us and then told us that if we wanted to participate in class, it would be $39.99. I was not told that in my text messages with the staff. I was just told to show up in comfortable clothes. When I broached this with the instructor, his response was 'well I'm telling you now, so you can decide.' That doesn't help me when I'm already there! We were also informed that the Grandmaster was not there, and that the Friday class is less structured than other classes during the week. Again, not told any of this over text message. When I brought that up with the instructor, he implied that it was my fault for texting with the staff instead of calling. Overall, the school seems disorganized and I did not appreciate their lack of transparency about the cost of the introductory class. Won't be coming back.
