Each call involved waiting on hold over 10 minutes listening to preprogrammed music. It's sad that the staff don't seem able to answer calls. The only option for callers is to leave a voice mail message and your call will be returned in 24 hours. I have an option through Scripps to talk with a scheduler and set an appointment which is preferable. As I recall the procedure went fairly well 10 years ago with the doctor and procedure staff doing a good job and exhibiting a good bedside manner. However, if you can't schedule an appointment it doesn't really matter how good the provider is.

Thank you! ---------------------------------- This review is not for Dr Paredez, who is honestly a wonderful doctor - but for his office. It is literally impossible to get in touch with anyone there. I've tried calling multiple times throughout the day, waited on hold for 15+ minutes only for someone to pick up the phone and immediately hang up. I've tried leaving a message both on the phone and on their site - no response most of the time, occasionally a call back (roughly 1 out of 5-6 times). I was told the office would contact me to schedule labs but of course, nobody did, so now I am just waiting indefinitely. I rarely post Yelp reviews, but am so frustrated with the quality of care here that I have to look for alternatives and hope that enough such reviews will get the attention of the doctor and perhaps something will change eventually. I plan to look for alternate care- not because of the doctor (who is, again, wonderful) but because there is just no way to ever get in touch with anyone in this office.

I got a telehealth appt for him to look at my records - and he said it was clear why my doctor had made the recommendation she did (even if in other circumstances, people normally need to come in for a colonoscopy). He stated he heard a heart murmur, referred me to cardiology w/o any abdominal exam, etc. With upper GI results I saw his PA, Amy. Same outcome. I believed they both entered with an agenda, minimized my input including significant history & did nothing of any therapeutic help. I am considering an avenue of complaint. I continue to experience debilitating pain, have inadequate medicine, emesis at least 3 mornings a week while difficulty swallowing supported by GI radiologic exam. I could not recommend this Dr or office.

The anesthesiologist met with me explaining the medications he would b using to put me under for the procedure. Once in the surgery room. Dr Mayer explained the procedure and what might happen based on what he might find during the procedure. The anesthesiologist started the medication through my IV. Before he injected all the meds, I was out! 30 mins later I was awake and Dr Mayer explained how the procedure went. Within minutes after waking up I felt great w very little effects of the anesthesia and walked out and headed home. I highly recommend Dr Mayer and his staff!! Professional, friendly, personable and attentive. I felt like everyone cared and enjoyed their job.
