This review has been a long time coming... Back in 2020, yes during the outbreak of COVID, I used Hargrove Inspection for our first home purchase. While the inspector spotted many minor things that we were able to have addressed, their deeper negligence has left me with a horror or two over the years of owning this home. The inspector did not go into the attic. They stood on a ladder and took a few pics with their phone held up high. Not only did they miss signs of rats, but they missed an entire CAULDRON...I kid you not...a cauldron in the corner of the attic that was collecting water from a leak where a dish had been screwed into the roof. Some sort of halloween cauldron. Large. How did I learn of this years later? Well I was nursing my newborn in the bed and the ceiling, and cauldron, fell out on the bed next to us. I am very thankful that it missed us, though I screamed and swept the baby up and away, as quickly as you can imagine--terrified to sleep even in the room anymore. There were no indications of a leak in the ceiling. The cauldron had just become so heavy. Please go into the attic. Please look in the corners. read more

Hargrove inspections is either negligent or intentionally taking advantage of service members forced to move into houses sight unseen. I recently moved to Grovetown, GA on active duty military orders. I had to purchase a home sight unseen because of the fast paced market. Hargrove Inspections conducted the pre-purchase inspection in less than an hour and missed two major deficiencies on the home which I noticed the day we moved in. 1) A window in our master bedroom literally leaked water that dripped on the inside window sill during rain and had peeling/bubbling paint on the inside of the jams. It was also separated from the frame by 1/4" with clear water damage visible. 2) There was missing grout and caulking along the inside corner of the shower (where the walls meet together and where the floor meets the wall). My concern was mold growth in both areas. After calling and e-mailing Hargrove, the owner John re-inspected those two areas and ended up finding a 3" hole in the roof that was also missed during the initial inspection, which had been leaking into the wall on top of the damaged window. He agreed to have the roof patched, but refused to properly repair/replace the window, agreeing to only check for the presence of mold without removing the window to check the frame behind the drywall. He insisted that the damage was minor and shrugged it off like that sort of thing is missed by inspections all the time. Then, less than a week after being told by Hargrove that mold could not live in the wall after the roof was patched, mold began to grow inside my home on the window as pictured. When I had it inspected by a reputable mold removal company, they recommended removing the window and surrounding drywall as there was likely mold in the wall and possible water damage to the house's frame. Now I'm out thousands of dollars because Hargrove refused to correct their extremely poor business practices. Hargrove also refused to repair the shower or even inspect for the presence of mold there. When the shower seat fell off the wall three weeks after we moved into the house, the shower walls and floor behind it were covered in mold as pictured. Hargrove refused after several requests to properly repair the damaged areas and took no responsibility for their gross negligence. DO NOT use Hargrove for your home inspection. You will regret it as my family and I do now. read more

I hired Hargrove Inspection Services to inspect a new construction home. Patrick Brown conducted a very comprehensive inspection of the home (interior and exterior) and caught some issues and that I wouldn't have thought of checking during the walkthrough. He brought a drone and took detailed pictures of the ENTIRE roof. I was impressed with the technology and the clarity of the pictures. The pictures revealed some exposed nailheads that can eventually cause issues as they rust. Another main finding was that the cold and hot water were reversed in 3 different locations in the house! I had my first home inspected by them. Don't trust them to do any inspecting. He showed up and went through the motions then handed me a bunch of papers expecting hundreds of dollars for doing nothing. He brought his granddaughter on the job because he wanted to rush off and take her skating. I find out later that my brand of panel box had been recalled for years because of starting fires.
