Love this store, but deeply disappointed by plant department waste…read moreI am a regular customer and genuinely love shopping at this Lowe's location, but I had a very frustrating experience today that left a bad taste in my mouth. I brought a clearance Bird of Paradise plant to checkout. The cashier initially checked with the plant department and confirmed I could buy it at half price. However, when the plant manager came over, she took the plant away and stated she was going to throw it right into the trash instead of selling it to me. As someone who loves shopping here and saving plants, it was so disappointing to watch a living plant get thrown away when it could have easily been sold for half price, a dollar, or even given away to a customer ready to rehabilitate it. Throwing it in the dumpster felt completely wasteful. I still love this store and completed my purchase for my other plant, but I really hope management takes a look at this policy so plants don't just get thrown in the trash when customers are eager to buy them.

I like this South Florida Home Depot- it's consistently busy but doesn't feel overwhelming or overstimulating like some store locations. This is a place I come to for most of my plant needs and it's always fun walking around their outdoor area. One of the older men that works there is just a charm. I wish I had gotten his name, but he's a veteran and just happy to be there- you can't help but smile because of him. With all Home Depot's I do wish their prices overall were just a little lower. But maybe in hindsight that's not such a bad thing or else I'd go more often and walk out with more items and a lighter bank account. I guess that's just how it goes.
