UGLY COMPANY!
What a truly awful experience. The entire process took nearly a year to complete mainly because of Tony, the salesperson. The window installers were decent, but Tony, the salesperson, Jessica, the jobs coordinator, and Gary, the so-called vice president were down right nasty cover-their-ass-blame-the-customer shitty people.
Tony seemed like a nice person, but he simply wouldn't/didn't listen to our requests. We had another contractor install Simonton windows in 2013 on the first floor of my 87yr old mother's home. She wanted matching Simonton windows on the second floor of the home. So, we asked Tony for double locks instead of single locks, and metal wheel barrings instead of plastic wheel barrings. After explaining to him and then showing him exactly what we wanted, he claimed Simonton no longer made windows with double locks. He was being either lazy or stupid because I had spoken with a Simonton rep, who had no problem with our requests. I explained to Tony the facts I learned from Simonton and I wrote everything down for him. When the windows arrived, they all had single locks and plastic barrings. I called Tony immediately. He tried to sell me on the single locks. What an asshole! We halted installation at that point. We were going to send everything back and hire a different contractor, but Tony promised up and down to make things right. He said Hardy Windows would do whatever it took to make us happy in the end. What a load of B.S. I never heard from Tony again.
Bottom line for Tony in sales: Doesn't know manufacturer's products and is apparently to lazy to find out. His measurements were off. The measurements I took were accurate. Tony measured once and arrogantly showed me that my measurements were a little off from his--and wrong. When their installer mentioned to me that several windows were nearly too tight to install, I showed him the measurements I had taken. He agreed that my measurements were correct. After promising to make things right, we never saw or heard from Tony again.
Jessica, the jobs coordinator, was super fake. She was absolutely disgusting. She is a zero in customer service. She'll say anything to cover her ass. She was terrible at communicating, she was very rude, and in our opinion, she was not capable of doing her job. I had to take work off a few times in the process to be at the home for Hardy Window installation appointments. On two occasions, no one showed up. The first time, I called and talked to Jessica. She made up a big story about how they needed the team that was supposed to work on our project to work on another more urgent project. I asked her why we weren't notified/called. She said, "I'm pretty sure we did." I told her there was no word from you or anyone from Hardy. She came back with something about the urgent situation with the other project and how it took precedence over our project. No apology. No explanation for no notification. Only, was she clear it was not her fault. I was out a day's pay. The second time no one showed up, I had had it with Jessica and her lies. This time she claimed she had called several times to inform us of the rescheduling. A bald faced lie. I had received one message from Jessica confirming the appointment. My cell number was the only contact number. I was amazed by the obvious lies she was trying to sell. I tried to explain the impossibility of her scenario, but she came back rudely talking over me telling me there was something wrong with my phone. Laughable! But, super frustrating. I refused to work with Jessica from then on. I asked to speak with whomever was truly in charge. I asked to speak with Gary, the vice president. Instead, I was connected with Ferd.
Ferd was totally useless. I asked why I wasn't put in touch with Gary. He said he'd be the one to make things right--he wanted to be 'the go to guy.' I told him I just wanted to talk to Gary. He would not connect me. So, I tried to work with Ferd. But, every time I tried to contact Ferd, he wasn't in nor reachable. He has no voice-mail. After speaking with Ferd the one time, I never heard from him again. How infuriating!
So, I went to Anaheim to speak face to face with Gary.
What can I say about Gary, the so-called vice president. The title is obviously unearned. He's an arrogant prick. Another zero in customer service. Knowing nothing about our project or our experiences, he tried to bully me and refused my simple requests. I told him they were not going to be paid. Only then did he retrieve the project file.
Not in the file: Broken bath sink bowl at initial install. Drywall damage from initial install, drywall damage from a follow-up install & drywall damage from another follow-up install. Plus, 2 unacceptable frame-ins.
Gary's moronic conclusion: It's not in the file, so it didn't happen. read more
