Two stars only because Bill's workers were so hard working. However, my experience with this company overall didn't sit well with me.It felt like I was dealing with a con artist when I was done. He didn't keep his word on several things and talked condescendingly to me when I questioned him about things he said he would do.
Hardwoods by Bill installed Bruce Hardwood floors on my entire first level.
When Bill was vying for my business he told me he would.
1. level the floor in my living room and set off the ceramic tile around the fireplace. He would take care of the squeaky floor... didn't happen
2. said he would use silicon paper under the floors (purchased 3 roles (used less than 1 and 1/2 for 950 square feet. Hardly used any in the kitchen or bath area where there was bare plywood and I reminded him. When I was not watching, he quickly nailed it down without the paper. In some areas the wood is not tightly connected.
3. He waited 2 weeks after the majority of my floors were completed to finish the trim and to add a few pieces in the pantry and under the sink. I found enough pieces laying around the house to complete the areas he left bare from the waste they left in the garage, trash and in bags in the house. He was trying to get me to buy another box unnecessarily.
4.Bill told me that if I bought 3.25 planks which were $1,000 more than the 2.25 planks he would give me a discount of $250. He convinced me that the pattern would look nicer (more of the wood grain). When I reminded him of the discount, he revised my quote but added an additional $380 for not removing pushing the refrigerator and a piano aside.
5.Bill also told me that he would give me furniture pads and a care guide for taking care of my new floor. That didn't happen. When I asked him about it, he insisted he gave me instructions (still no floor pads).
6. He did not respect my house. Walked in with his shoes on my new floors without dusting his feet on the doormat and took up the protective covering I had on the floor so that this would not be.
7. They cut in my garage, my 3 season room, and living room. Dust everywhere and did NOT clean it up. I hired a cleaning service to clean up.
8. The workers came upstairs to use my private bathroom WITHOUT ASKING. It was an imposition.
9. the workers played their MUSIC LOUDLY (rock) without consideration of my work schedule, my husband worked nights, and my daughter online schooling.
I would not do business with Bill again. Not that his workers didn't work well, but he is NOT trustworthy. I didn't feel valued and I spent a lot of money on his services. He did not say, Thank you for your Business. He said if you give me a referral, you can make $125 and that's a lot o money. So insulting. I would NOT recommend him for integrity issues and poor customer service. read more
