The second floor landing with a railing was the trickiest part, but it looks great with the new floor now perfectly under the railing as does the rest of the 1200 sqft of flooring. My husband found a hardwood store at craigslist claiming that they don't sell products from China…read moreand only products from North America, and their prices start from. $1.99. We went there and the salesman kept convincing us to buy a particular engineered wood because it's the best deal we could find anywhere in GTA. After convincing us that we were getting a good deal, they told us that we have to make a deposit of $1000 since they don't accept credit card deposits. We also had to sign a contract. BIG MISTAKE, when we went back home and did a research on the company that made the wood that we ordered from them, we found out that it was a Chinese company. The next day we went back to ask for a refund because we told them before that we only wanted wood products from North America. They would not give us a refund saying that they already ordered the wood for us and the company already shipped it and the order cannot be cancelled. I didn't believe that the company already shipped it, considering we just ordered the wood the day before. The only thing they would do for us after a lot of arguing with them was to order an alternative wood product from North American company. I still insisted on a refund because I couldn't trust these salespeople anymore. After reading some negative reviews the night before, I found out that they are not honest, they changed an order from one customer without telling them, and there were other customers who got ripped off by these people! Anyway to make the story short, refused to refund our deposit until I showed up with signs and started sticking it in my car in front of their store! I got my full refund and went to the hardwood flooring store at Victoria park. I chose a hardwood that was not in stock but was on special for $3.99/SQF and the salesperson Darren, who was so nice and knowledgeable insisted that we didn't have to put a deposit for this particular wood, and if we bought too much of this kind of wood, we can return the unopened boxes for a full refund! Our experience between the other store and the hardwood flooring stores was like hell ( the other store) and heaven( hardwood flooring stores). Be confident when you deal with hardwood flooring stores, they are honest people and give you the best product at a good price!

I purchased engineered hardwood through Nick with an installation date of Oct 29/30. I was living…read morein a hotel due to a flood and was not in my unit when the floor was installed. When I moved back in on Nov 12 I discovered glue all over my floor, chips, scratches, dents from dropped tools, holes and saw marks and none of the doorstop moulding they applied was installed correctly. To date I have sent photos to Nick 3 times, spoken to the manager who appears to be completely out to lunch and have called Nick numerous times to have this resolved. each time Nick promises to call be the next day at a particular time to resolve the issue and to date he has not called back once, I have to keep calling him. The installers were Adam Kharaman and his son from Kharaman Flooring. I asked Adam to come back to repair the floor and remove the doorstop moulding so I could have another company come in and do the job properly, he removed most, not all, of the doorstop and destroyed my baseboards, which will now also need to be replaced. I had to ask him to remove the nails, which he said he would hammer in. He did sort of hammer a few over, but most of the nails are sticking straight out of my baseboards now. The floor has not been repaired and replaced where necessary and every time Adam comes into my home he causes more damage and is now not allowed back. Take a look at the photos and decide for yourselves whether this is a job you would want done in your home. So far, I have been offered a"free" box of flooring, which does me no good since A) I am recovering from a spinal fusion, and B) I"M NOT A BLOODY FLOORING INSTALLER; I PAID FOR A BLOODY FLOORING INSTALLER TO DO THE JOB! I want this done so the restoration from the flood is complete, and I can move on with my life. At this point, I'm going to have to get a lawyer involved. This whole experience has been a bad joke. UPDATE: Jan 06- Nick Granita made an appointment with me to come out this evening at 6:00 pm to take a look at the shoddy workmanship and discuss repairs, as expected; he did not call or show up at my home. UPDATE: Jan 07 - I called The Hardwood Flooring Store and asked to speak to the owner; Ron Ander who told me he was with a client and couldn't speak to me and then had a meeting but would call me back in 45 minutes. Fair enough, but as expected, like NickGranita he did not call back to discuss the issue. UPDATE: 08 - I just spoke to Ron Ander who tells me this has nothing to do with him or his company and unless I remove this revue he isn't going to do anything to have the the job that I paid for completed and that he's going to post a response saying that I'm some sort of crank. Well, Mr Ander, Kahraman Flooring was sent out by your company and as the owner the buck stops with you. I have been trying to come to some sort of resolution since Nov 15 2024, this review wasn't posted Mid-December, your company had plenty of opportunities to turn this around but chose not to. Again, look at the photos of their work and ask yourself who the crank is and if this is the kind of work you would want in your home. It looks like we're going to court, along with Adam Kharaman of Kharaman Flooring. FAFO

My experience with this company, in particular with Mary was a nightmare…read more I originally placed an order by phone to have a stair carpet fitted, which included taking up the old carpet. Mary quoted the price on the phone, and mentioned that lifting the stair carpet would cost $85 (inclusive of HST). The stair carpet was taken up before the fitters came and I called Mary on the day asking that the bill be adjusted to reflect this. She promised to call me back within 10 minutes to confirm the new amount. She never called. In the meantime the fitters were impatiently demanding that I sign the bill acknowledging that the work had been done. The fitters then handed me a copy of the bill, which looked like something that had been prepared by a preschooler: Mary had simply scrawled the total amount payable on it, with no breakdown of the various costs involved or how much carpet had been used. Subsequently the full amount of the bill was charged to my credit card, despite Mary having assured me the cost of lifting the stair carpet would be deducted. I then spent almost a month calling and emailing Mary to obtain a breakdown of the bill and requesting a refund of the overpayment of $85. She failed to return my calls and seldom replied to my emails. Eventually I wrote to her colleague in the hope of embarrassing Mary because of her inaction, which seemed to do the trick. I was finally refunded $56, which was considerably less than what Mary had verbally quoted on the phone. Unfortunately, as there was no breakdown on the bill of the costs involved, my credit card company was unwilling to refund the difference. A word of warning: if after reading my comments you still choose to order from Citi Flooring, make sure that you obtain a fully detailed WRITTEN quote BEFORE you place your order. Better still, order from somebody else!
