They also are a full fledged bake shop, making all of their breads and cakes and pastries in house. All of it is worth checking out. Here's a place with a commitment to super high quality, better than average cafe fare, at a good price and friendly service. I always stop here whenever I go into upper WI to fish.

Everyone was sitting at their tables, talking, laughing, and watching the football. It took me back to Thanksgiving at my grandparents' house when the whole family would gather for a good time and good food. Even after the buffet finished, a number of customers, self included, hung around to watch the end of the game, just one big, happy, well-fed family. When the choice is mine, it's the only restaurant in the area for me.

Even in the off‑season, it has that "weekend" energy, in a good way. If I lived here, this would be a primary hangout for a beer or two. They've got a solid tap list, nothing special but definitely better than your standard domestic‑only lineup. We ended up splitting a Cuban sandwich, which came with homemade potato chips which were quite good. But the real surprise was the jambalaya. Saw this after the fact but lots of Yelpers have been making note of this soup. Tons of flavor, great spice level, and it feels like something you'd never expect from a typical Northwoods bar menu.
