The food at this hotel bistro is better than most of the restaurants around JACKSONVILLE. We did not realize this is a chain which isn't a problem in and of itself however, it's rare that chain breakfast restaurants are worth our money or time. In this case we felt they missed on every possible opportunity. Service was sketchy, we had to ask them to take our order, remind them four times for an item they kept forgetting to bring out, they burned one item, served it anyway and the waitress apologized. When she should have simply not served it at all. If I was the manager I would have been ashamed of what came out but if our orders were typical they may simply be used to being mediocre. We were in mid week and there were not a lot of customers. So we were surprised that they had run out of several things on the menu. That's simply bad management, they could have gone next door to the grocery store and bought the missing items. I had a sandwich which was just ordinary bread with almost no meat, and two small pieces of wilted leafy greens that did not even cover 1/4 of the sandwich. And this was the special. It was dry, over priced, and there was nothing on it, I mean nothing but a single bite of meat. Then getting some things wrong that a breakfast joint should do really well left us both thinking we won't come back. For example the scrambled eggs were terrible, how does a restaurant good up scrambled eggs? Literally anywhere does a better job. This is basically a Denny's with a smaller menu and lower quality. Skip this place and find an ihop or Metro diner with both just a little down the street.

We were greeted quickly upon arriving into Liliana's Colombian Restaurant and Bakery by an older gentleman, you could tell he has pride in this restaurant the way he spoke and helped with everything. The food, we order tostones for an appetizer. They were crispy, light, and simple. Could've used a bit of salt personally but the garlic sauce they came with really made up for it. So good! The steak had a ton of flavor, and the yellow rice was solid, though my family actually liked the white rice better overall. We ordered a mix of plates with yellow rice and fries, others with white rice and tostones. I went with the arroz con pollo (classic choice), and my youngest had the chicken nuggets and fries. Only downside: my meal came out about 10 minutes after everyone else's, which was a little frustrating but not warrant for complaints. Our waiter was really sweet, a tad slow checking in sometimes, but he was super accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. He even got honey on the side for my kiddos nuggets. Odd request but it's a thing. A big surprise but we got a free choice of a pastry at the end, which was really nice. My kids picked flan and said it was light, firm, but still creamy. Not too mushy. In the end the vibe is very family friendly. They play Latin music in the background, but it's quiet and chill, easy to drown out and still enjoy. I would love to see this place flourish, I know they deserve it, there's a lot of love put into this place. If we're ever in town again, we'll be back.

We were in no rush and our waiter (Beckett) was very accommodating with our pace. we ordered drinks and settled in on reviewing the small menu. Drinks were fine but I thought my beer (Sexy Cool Hazy IPA) was a little flat. We asked if there were any appetizers that would lend themselves to sharing. The only two, deviled eggs and pimento cheese, were not anything we were interested in so we passed. Surprisingly, there was not even a salad option as a starter. Two of the dinners had the NC catch of the day, golden tilefish. It was nice but a very small portion. One had the shrimp and clam purloo. It was a generous portion and was reported to be good. I had the braised pork cheeks. They tasted good and were not fatty at all. Looking back on our dinner, the food was fine but nothing exceptional. Also nothing "fresh" on the menu; salad, fresh vegetables, nothing. Also the lack of something other than the very pedestrian offers to share is something to consider. For what we paid, I would expect much better. PS - Our waiter, Beckett, was very good. Attentive enough but not too much. Also, why do restaurants of this caliber charge more for a credit card. Who is going to pay cash for a $300 meal? Just crank it into the price of the food and stop rubbing our noses in your cost to do business.
