My only advice is don't make afternoon appointments because they sometimes get backed up and have to cancel. The work they do is detailed and usually gets repaired the same day. They're not the cheapest but they're not the most expensive either. All in all I feel confident in their work.

Even after the judge ordered them to pay for all the damage they caused, in addition to refunding my money, Ashton refused to obey the court order! The courts then had to issue a WARRANT for arrest to force them to pay! DO NOT HIRE ASHTON! I made the unfortunate mistake of hiring Ashton to replace a leaking faucet and they quoted me $1900. Instead of simply installing a new faucet as we had agreed, two plumbers from Ashton showed up and unnecessarily broke my existing tiles, damaged and removed the concrete around the pipes creating an enormous hole in my shower wall, replaced my old pipes, and then installed new pipes for the faucet several inches off center with no concrete. They then wanted $3600, insisting that I now had to pay $1500 for garbage disposal. Ashton later admitted they were aware the pipes were not centered and kept quiet hoping I would not notice. After Ashton finally straightened out the pipes, I had to hire someone to temporarily attach tiles to a non-existing wall. Ashton then sent the original plumber to incorrectly attach the new faucet! I wrote a letter to David Fowler, the service manager at Ashton, as well as to the President and Vice President. David said he would send a plumber to attach the fixture properly, but nobody ever showed up. I ended up having to hire a different plumber to finish the job. All I wanted was a replacement for my leaky bathtub faucet and ended up with a complete nightmare! The judge stated that I did not sue them for enough money!

Jessie arrived on time, masked up and ready to go. He first listened to what I had to tell him about the problem and read the reports from the other techs that I provided. He then looked at all components of the system and zeroed in on a couple of obvious (to him) problems. Jessie worked diligently and was not afraid to share information with me as he was performing his job. After a short time he was able to get the heat pump running as it should. He then checked to make sure ALL components of the heating system were functioning together as they should. We were facing the very real prospect of replacing this heat pump, as we had dealt with a problem that no one else could repair, at a cost of thousands of dollars. Thanks to Heritage Mountain and Jessie for rectifying the problem, saving us the cost of replacing the heat pump and saving us from further frustration. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND Heritage Mountain Heating!!

We chose Brad because he was very honest, approachable, and well informed. We felt he gave us good advice, and worked to save us money and get us the best equipment for our needs. We also found his quote was very competitive, which was fantastic because of the four companies I had quote, I like interacting with Brad the best. The installation went smoothly. Brad and the guys he brought in to help with the install were all reasonable to have working in our home. Brad seemed to do everything by the book and to the best possible quality. For example, an electrical box was installed where the electrician had popped out one extra access port than he needed. Brad commented that this would meet code and most people would accept it; however, he did not like it and so he came back the next day to replace the box. All the work seemed top quality. The only challenge with working with Brad was that he was somewhat hard to nail down on an installation time. He was always easy to get a-hold of via his cell phone, but once or twice failed to send me information via email that he said he would. The system has now been running for year and we are very happy with it and would choose to work with Brad again and would recommend him to our friends.

After reading a few reviews, it appears Hilltop has taken advantage of seniors before. My Mother…read morehas used them for decades, and have been receiving annual "cleaning and maintaining" on her furnace for years. After the pilot light failed to turn on this month (having been off all summer), she called Hilltop for help with the pilot along with their normal servicing. She told me the service person wasn't onsite more than 5min before telling her that her furnace was "ancient", parts to fix it were near impossible to source, entire unit must be replaced, and provided a quote for $15,000. She was shocked, yet curious due to the unsatisfactory time spent looking at the unit, along with the unpleasant, questionable demeanour, so she called a competitor. The competitor showed up the next day, friendly, took the time to listen, and inspect the unit. The serviceperson confirmed the unit had not been serviced, or cleaned for what looked to be years (so much for Hilltops "annual servicing") and proceeded to brush, clean, and vacuum the unit, at which point the pilot light lit no problem. The competitor mentioned, yes, it is old, but it may last a few more winters, explained what to look for, and suggested a follow-up in the spring. Competitor bill for servicing and firing up her unit for another winter, $450.00. Well done competitor. Advantage of a senior?.....time on their hands to spread word of mouth. My Mom is insuring to notify her entire complex of units (in the 100's) of the treatment she received from competitor....and the appalling scam from Hilltop. She will also tell all her friends who also live in similar complexes. Shame on you Hilltop.

Got Nifty plumbing and heating to attend to my heat pump system which is not functioning as per…read morenormal. First technician came with minimal tool or preparation, spent time looking around and informed me that the capacitor is faulty, need to come back next day because he hasn't a replacement capacitor. Next day, however another chap turned up, attached a gas pressure metering device to the condenser, but did not refer to the capacitor. He guessed instead ( 90% sure, he said) the fault of the heat pump is due either to the TXV valve or the coil, and it's going to be labour intensive and expensive to rectify. Given the contradictory diagnosis from the 2 technicians and their somewhat uncertain demeanour, I ended up paying $ 365 for the cost of their service call and 2 hours of fruitless "lookaround".

MARCH 22 2026 I hired RMS Heating and Cooling Ltd., owned by…read moreRoberto Sawatzky, in December 2024, to install a heat pump heating and air conditioning system, to replace my boiler, in my 2000 sq. ft. rancher in Langley. Roberto's employee had done maintenance work, a few years earlier, on my boiler. The job was done satisfactorily and the price was reasonable. We came to an agreement on the all in price of the new heat pump system. Roberto asked for $5000. cash up front to pay for the equipment. I thought Roberto to be a decent guy, a guy I could trust. I paid Roberto $5000. cash in Dec. 2024. The new system consisted of a heat pump, 3 ceiling cassette units and 1 wall mount unit, piping and electrical. Many delays later, the install started mid April 2025. I wasn't concerned as I didn't want to be without heat or hot water, during the system changeover, over winter. The new system was near complete, except for a backordered ceiling grille, in late April. Roberto called me and asked if I could pay in full as Fortis was slow in paying him rebate money. He said Fortis owed him $50,000. or so, and being a small business, he needed the cash flow to carry on. I guess I acted uninterested so he offered me a $500. incentive if I paid right away. At this point, having no reason to distrust him, I paid his invoice in full. As I was waiting for the ceiling grille I noticed the ceiling drywall, adjacent to a ceiling cassette unit, was cracked and hanging down a bit. The ceiling cassettes fit between the roof trusses. I grabbed some screws and went to fasten the loose drywall back on to the truss. That's when I discovered that Roberto's employee had cut out the bottom chord, of my engineered roof trusses, beside the 3 cassette ceiling units. Anyone in the construction industry knows, or damn well should know that YOU DON'T CUT ENGINEERED TRUSSES. I contacted Roberto and expressed my "dismay". He took full responsibility and admitted that he hadn't trained his employee properly and hadn't told him he couldn't cut roof trusses. He also confirmed he would look after the repairs and cost of repairs. Roberto is a smooth talker and has a way of gaining your trust, so I let it go at that. He said he was very busy with out of town jobs and could I help with organizing and scheduling trades. He hired and paid for an engineer to design truss repairs. He had a friend carpenter, who he would pay, to do the repairs, an insulator as well. The carpenter had a friend who did small drywall and painting jobs. I wanted the repairs done ASAP and the trades wanted payment immediately upon completion of their work. I notified Roberto of the trades payment requirements. He said he was out of town and couldn't get the trades paid on time and could I pay them and he would reimburse me. I reluctantly agreed--that trust thing again. I paid the trades. That was 8 months ago. He has paid me nothing even after I offered him a payment plan, which he agreed to, and then ignored. A few weeks ago I found out that Roberto has not paid his friend, the carpenter. I paid him. Also after 3 attempts, by the paint store and painter, to match the ceiling paint, no luck, the entire ceiling needs repainting. I have many emails, texts, phone calls backing up what I say. I also have invoices, receipts and pictures to prove what I say. He has a habit of blaming others for any problems, check out RMS Heating and Cooling Ltd. complaints on the Better Business Bureau website. All I've got is excuse after excuse or no communication at all. He blames Fortis for not paying him, $50,000 or so, in Rebate money, which I now believe is B.S., I'm sure he was paid. If he's already done work for you, CHECK YOUR TRUSSES, they are probably cut out if you have ceiling heat/cool cassette units If you're thinking of using him DON'T, and if you do, DO NOT pay him any money until the job is 100% completed He's a smooth talker and gains your trust, don't fall for his B.S. like I did P.S. I paid him in full for the heat pump system he installed and have his receipt to prove it.
