Great view of the lake...awesome huge deck ....food used to be very good...but not this time...1/3 of my 20 oz prime rib was inedible...fat and gristle....but that wasn't the worst part...was served on a cold plate....so meat was at best lukewarm...and the au jus was barely warm.....rice pilaf was gooey and lukewarm....Parmesan asparagus was tiniest pencil asparagus I have ever seen...3 bites worth...if even...was so woody/stringy...and cheese was rubbery ....not a good item....simple seasoned green beans would have been a better choice ...... and fyi....there is a 3% charge for using a credit card.... I hope they get a handle on their food issues....really like to go there for the view , entertainment and cocktails...... read more

We decided to try the restaurant for our son's 23rd birthday. I tried calling several times the day before we wanted to go; leaving a message for reservations. I send a PM through Facebook the day of our meal and was told no reservations were necessary. We arrived at 4:30 local time. The server aked if we had reservations and I responded that we were told we didn't need them. She stated the restaurant was full and nothing was open until 7. I again stated I was told no reservations were needed. The server got upset and began throwing the reservation book onto the shelf and huffed into the restaurant. Several minutes later another server asked if I had reservations. I explained the FB message and she said she would speak to the ower. We were sat in five minutes. The waitress we had was really new; kept getting our orders mixed up. At least she ws friendly! The kitchen was out of fish for fish and chips and twice baked potatoes. We ordered an appetizer that came out at the same time as our food - over an hour after ordering. During the entire evening the original server was giving me bad looks... and the restaurant was almost completely empty when we left at almost 6:30. My wife and friends went here on opening night. They all said the food was great, however the service was horrible. Their dinner took 3 hours. We thought we would give it a second try on Sunday. We did not have a reservation but were told we could have a seat in the bar and have appetizers and drinks. We found a table and sat down. After almost 20 minutes of not even being agnoledged, we decided to leave. I really hope the management team can work out the kinks soon and learn what customer service is supposed to be. This place has a lot of potential but needs to better service if I will ever be a regular. read more

The first thing I want to make clear is the food was delicious. We were a party of 4 and all had different cuts of meat and they were all amazing. The prime rib is one of the best I've ever had and the reason this restaurant gets 3 stars instead of 1 or 2. The service was the problem. I watched the owner and one of the busboys walk past 2 dirty tables repeatedly. It took 90 minutes for our meals to come out and we had a late reservation. Two steaks came out and the waitress told us the other 2 were going to still be a wait. One if them was prime rib so I'm not sure how that works because prime rib is literally a roast that is cooked before I even order it. Our waitress was nice enough and extremely apologetic about the wait, I'm not sure why it was repeatedly addressed by her instead of the owner who didn't acknowledge one table as he walked by to visit with people he obviously knew in the back corner. I would like to see this restaurant make it but unless the service issues are fixed and the owner steps up I'm not sure how that's going to happen. Also their reservation system needs some work. I called the day of and got a reservation. I then got a text in the middle of the night for a 4:30am reservation and another text the next day about a nonexistent reservation. read more

I was privileged to have dinner the first evening at the harbor house. Don and I had great filet mignon's, wings for appetizer, French onion soup and salad as well. All of our food was delicious, the service was great, and a great menu for cocktails. We also had dinner there again with a group of friends last night and experienced many more of the options on the menu. Afterwords we went out to the front deck where there was a beautiful view, the guys paid played corn hole game, and the rest of us enjoyed our cocktails. So happy to welcome harbor house to Bass Lake. Just like all restaurants they had to fix some of the problems that happened with a grand opening in the first week. But overall the food is great. Worse place I have ever been too. Waited 2 hours without update from staff. I tried to be understanding but when I saw my waitress having a drink in the banquet room, I was furious. The food came out raw which I attached the photo for reference and raw beef on the burgers. This was the first and LAST time I come here. woke up early so excited about my 18th birthday party. my sister said we should go to scoops 'n smiles, but i heard the meatballz were to die for. i am in a wheelchair, and there was a golf cart parked in front of the wheelchair ramp. either way, there was a tree removing the sidewalk in front of the wheelchair ramp too, so it was IMPOSSIBLE to access the facility. i am not sure why they served soup with the taco dinner, but i ate it anyway. they said it was seafood, but it was definately lake food. the clientele is not very upscale, there were lots of woment (at least two for sure) klukkling all around us. VERY hard to have a conversation or sing happy birthdays. all in all, a great experience. will definitely be back for my 21th! read more

Drinks were so good! I had a frozen raspberry wine drink and my mom had a raspberry mojito. Food was great too. Awesome French onion soup and steaks. The only downside to the place was the decor of the restaurant. Tables and chairs were very old. Not awful but could be updated a bit. The bar was very nice looking though. When this place opened it was so good. Unfortunately after 3 or 4 times of going there, we will not return. Service was slow, but not half as bad as the food. It was awful. Salad was warm, shrimp looked like minnows, wrong food to the wrong table. No one around us had a good meal either. Potato skin appetizers were cold. After sending our food back... 3 of the 4 of us... We finally got something edible. All of our food with the 4 of us came out at different times. The management was very apologetic and took 25% off of our bill and wanted to know what they could do better. We tried to tell them. What an awesome experience. Sat at the bar top for dinner. Was well taken care of by Athena. Absolutely delicious mojitos made from scratch. (Try the cucumber). Had the lamb loli app and it was perfectly cooked. Had the filet med rare and a lobster tail for mains. Perfect temp on the filet and a great sear giving a ton of flavor. Huge tail of lobster and both were served with some heirloom carrots that matched perfectly. So glad the lake has place like this to dine at. Awesome view out the windows. Great service. Great food. First of all the food is great! The decor is really tacky. The waitresses need a dress code most definitely!! They are walking around in some serious short shorts. Tattoos and piercings are insane here. Could be a beautiful place if the staff looked more professional. A midwinter visit to Harbour House on Bass Lake provided a pleasant surprise; new Faces! There is also an expanded menu of casual food offerings. We sat at a high top table in the bar/lounge overlooking the lake, which in itself is reason to have a meal here - the view. We were greeted warmly by our server, Megan, who recently joined the staff. We had a simple meal with a bowl of French Onion soup perfect on a winter night and a House salad, fresh and generous in size. My friend had the BLT, and as described on the menu, was Loaded with Bacon. Pre dinner I enjoyed a Dirty Martini, made perfectly to my request of "easy on the Dirty". I wish I had complimented the bartender...she obviously knows her craft ! Our meal was topped of with a warmed chocolate chip cookie and a scoop of ice cream. We both agreed that the meal was satisfying and priced fairly, but hands down, what made this dinner stand out were the New Faces at the Harbour House. When a business has the right people to represent them, like our server Megan and the "unnamed bartender" (sorry) it can make or break an experience. Tried this place over the weekend..our first time eating in a restaurant since September 2019.....it was not terrible but just ok. I had 4 chocolate martinis which were amazing The watermelon mojito sounded better than it was The bread and butter....great soft and warm Opted for the crab cakes as an appetizer they were great but $16 for 2 small cakes all of 4 bites seemed a bit much The French onion soup was delicious Waited a long, long time for the main course considering it was later in thr evening and not very busy the burgers we ordered should not have taken as long...I had the basic burger it was burnt despite asking or medium well it was more of a well well done and because it took so long I was not asking for it to be remade. It was dry and all I could taste was the cheese and the pickle thr beef had no flavor....we also ordered the wagyu burger while it had more flavor than their basic burger it simply tasted like grease but the bun on this burger was better than the other burger. I definitely want to go back and try another dish on another night...burgers may just not be something this place should make or maybe near the end of the night the staff was just tired... We were excited when this place opened first time we went was Valentine's Day it was ok crab legs came out cold and it took forever but thought ok it's Valentine's Day Went once on a Thursday ate at the bar food and service was great Went back this Saturday made a reservation for 3 our table was ready. Then it all went down hill from there waited 10 min for someone to stop and take our drink order and we ordered dinner at the same time in case she didn't come back. Ordered 1 steak, shrimp scampi and scallops after waiting 45 min we asked to speak to the manager because our food was not out yet well then manager brought our food out my husband voiced the time issue and the manager was very rude. Having driven from the east around 30 minutes, Crystal Black, Dining Room Manager without a mask informed me that my reservation was for 6 pm CST. OK, offer me a seat at the full bar without social distancing (two or three seats open) or as requested seat me outside. Zilch! SO, I head down the street to Sporty 2s for a beer, kill about 50 minutes and return. To be meet with a hostess without a mask and told that I do not have a reservation. I asked to see the owner Greg WIreman or a manager, which she said were busy. Good Luck Greg, if this is your start at the end of the lake season; I for one will not be back . . . I am giving them 3 stars for the food and the effort but there were many issues. I am with the others that the bartenders were too busy socializing to offer any sort of customer service. The waitresses seemed to be blaming each other instead of working together. The wait was atrocious, without bread or crackers or even water. I know everyone was trying hard but it was just a madhouse. Our steaks were incredible. Great job there. However, inconsistent on even the salads. We noticed the table next to us had croutons but we didn't. We didn't have silverware. Two of our side dishes were wrong. Social distancing did not exist. Shoulder to shoulder as we waited until we went outside. I hope the best for them! It certainly has potential. If you go there, go with a lot of patience! My Wife and I went to the Harbour House on 11/1/2020. We ordered the stuffed Mushroom for an appetizer and both of us took one bite and couldn't eat the rest because of the funny taste and too many garnishes were attached to the mushroom making the garnishes unavoidable to eat. My wife had the Sea Bass, she could only take three bites because of how fishy it was. I ordered the lobster tail which was only about 6 oz. for $37.00 it had some kind of seasoning on it that made it almost in editable. Made a reservation via Yelp on Friday. Arrived to be told Yelp reservations were not accepted and they did not have availability. After we left, we were notified by yelp our table was ready and received a call stating a mistake was made and if we came back, they could seat us. Clearly, you could tell, they are a new restaurant and their volume is high however....they food was good and reasonably priced. I enjoyed the prime rib and my husband enjoyed his porterhouse. Limited desert menu but hey...they are trying to figure it out. The prime rib sandwich looked OMG and about 2000 calories but probably worth every bite. So disappointed! Got to the restaurant at 5:50 central time and we were seated immediately for a 6pm reservation. We ordered drinks and got them promptly. We ordered our meal and an appetizer. The waitress came with our salads and they were great. Here is where it goes downhill. It took 1 hour and 15 mins to get our appetizer. It took another 45 minutes to get our meal. The Salmon was dry and the 20 oz prime rib was good but not worth $41. I complained to the manager and she did apologize. She said they were short staffed. It seams to be an ongoing problem these days due to Covid. We were celebrating our anniversary and I shared this with the manager. You would think that they could have adjusted the bill for a free drink or free appetizer or bring a free piece of cake to our table! Got nothing for our 2 hour wait to eat. Every step of my experience at Harbour House was a complete disaster. Couldn't make a reservation no matter how many times I called, left messages, or emailed. Was able to get a table as a walk in, but I should have taken it as a sign when I couldn't get ahold of anyone to make a reservation. Waitress was clueless and inept, but at least she was friendly. She could not manage to bring us a drink no matter his many times we asked. Appetizer never came, soup was cold, salad was brown and wilted,, and 2 HOURS LATER, the fish was very fishy (yuck) and my husband's steak tasted like lighter fluid. Manager was so incredibly rude when we tried talking to him. Could not be bothered and offered no apology or any compensation. Good luck staying open in a seasonal location. Trying to make a reservation is a joke.. call and it says email. Go to Facebook, it says email. Emailed twice and finally called and got a reservation. Arrived. Waited for several minutes for the hostess to seat us because she was sitting in the banquet area talking. We had a reservation but were seated in the banquet room because the dining room was full. I had to ask if a server was coming to the same hostess seated a few tables away from me. Instead of getting up and at least getting our drinks, she just sat there. Got our soups before our appetizers. Got my scissors for the cheese in my french onion soup after my soup was done. After the owners and hostess were talking about us as evidence by them all looking at me after I said to my husband, we need those scissors like kelceys does for the cheese in the French onion soup. The food was ok. If the food had been delicious, it could have made up for the poor service. Definitely not worth the $100 bill and the hour drive. Ps. Was grand opening weekend. Drove 1 hour to sample the new lake eatery. 45 minutes to get all the tables drink. Appetizers were an hour from first ordered. Waitresses seemed to only support the ones that were like by the waitress manager. 3 bartenders who would rather socialize with themselves. I am sorry this was so awful will not go back.
