I wished I'd looked into other area options after being informed while checking in that the pet fee was now $25 higher than I was quoted on the website as of January 1st, and not being informed, noticing on the bill as I left, that there was an -additional- "pet cleaning" fee of $15 added to the tab. Something was off-kilter in the ventilation of the room I was assigned, and the air was often too dry for most of the evening while we were there. It eventually corrected itself overnight once I turned the fan mode off. I also noticed the lack of bathroom ventilation that a previous reviewer commented on and that the bathroom did not seem to be connected to the heating for the rest of the room. Proximity to a couple of restaurants across the parking lot was nice, and additional shopping areas are just up the street. Having driven by this place somewhat regularly over the last several years, I'm glad to have tried it, but not sure I would want to stay again.

The next morning they had me up at the crack of dawn and into the car before i could object. An hour and 10 minutes later we pulled up at the Bay Motor Inn. Cutest little cottages and a nice big pool. This was already looking good. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Irene, the proprietor, who made us right at home. The cottages were perfect, the kids had one and the boy an I had an adjacent cottage (complete with a cute little porch). The rooms were clean and well appointed, air conditioned and they even shuffled us around when we saw the porch unit. Fred and Irene could not have been better hosts. As we relaxed by the pool they made us feel like we were long lost friends. What a comfort in today's world of "institutional lodging". We had such a great time on day one that we stayed an extra day. Aside from the hotel's amenities and charming hosts the Motel was located in a perfect position for us. We could easily scoot to beautiful beaches, take a walk along the canal and even take the kids bowling, mini golfing and go kart riding (I lost all three but it was worth it for the family time!). The Perfect Getaway Package includes: Overnight Accommodations for one evening, $150.00 towards Spa treatments per person, and $50.00 towards dining per person. The staff members I spoke with on the phone were very friendly and helpful when I was making reservations for my stay, spa treatments at Spa Mirbeau, and dining at The Bistro & Wine Bar. On the day of check-in, though we knew check-in will be at 4:00PM, we tried checking in earlier but our room was not yet available and we completed the pre-check in steps. A text message will be sent to my phone when the room is ready. The staff member was very helpful and informative in telling us what were some options in the area we could do to kill time like walking the Monet pond gardens on property and checking out the Village Green of The Pinehills right across the property. We had made 50 min. couples massage treatments appointments at Spa Mirbeau. For treatments scheduled 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, you can arrive no more than 1 hour prior to ensure the enjoyment of the spa amenities. We checked in at the Spa Desk about 45 minutes prior to our appointment time and were given a tour of the facilities. My tour guide was really detailed and walked me through the locker room (showers, steam room, bathrooms, vanity), spa resting area with heated foot pool, Aqua Terrace with a bar featuring small plates and beverages and an outdoor whirlpool, and solarium. Also, the Aqua Terrace has cabana rentals. In our locker, there was a plush robe and slippers. At our appointment time, the therapists came to the spa resting room and called out names of clients. I had the Monet's Favorite Fragrance Couples Massage and my husband had the Men's Essentials Massage. For the fragrance, I had the option to choose from four and I chose Restore. The massages were amazing and probably one of the best massages I've ever had. We both felt so relaxed. After our treatments, we used the other spa amenities. We checked out at the Spa Desk. I received a text from Mirbeau Inn & Spa stating my guest room is ready and my room keys were waiting for us at the front desk about 3:45pm. We received a welcome glass of champagne and wooden keys to our Manor House Room with Garden View. The room was very spacious and had in-room Lavazza coffee service, evening housekeeping service with chocolates, Apple TV, complimentary refillable water bottles, and all the bath amenities. Sadly, there is not a fridge in the room. All throughout the property, there are plain water and cucumber water dispensers. We had dinner at The Bistro & Wine Bar and it was such a delicious meal. I haven't had pan seared scallops that tasted that good in such a long time. They were so mouthwatering. Portions were generous and very filling. Service was really hospitable as well. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Check out is before 12:00 noon. The checkout process was seamless and the staff member checked to make sure all my credits were applied. I absolutely had a wonderful time at Mirbeau Inn & Spa and cannot wait to come back to this location or check out one of their other properties in Skaneateles, NY or Rhinebeck, NY or Beacon, NY coming soon in 2026.
