He wisely intervened after I left my Boston Bruins scarf there over the New Year's holiday. I called the evening I lost it and was told they would put it in the mail and took my credit card number. I waited about a week and didn't hear and then called back and left a message. I was transferred to a front desk supervisor and received a call back saying that my original credit card number was written on a piece of paper that was shredded and therefore my package could not be mailed. I provided the credit card number again and expected the package this week. I was told I would get a voice message when it was mailed and that never happened. I called back and left a message and was told it would "go out in the mail today". Today I received a call from Clayton indicating that when they went to process the credit card at the post office the number would not go through and that he would put it in the mail for me no charge. I thought this was very responsible on his part considering our status level with Marriott and the fact that it is pretty much the only hotel chain we use and the fact that I provided our credit card number twice to hotel personnel. Anxious to get my scarf back as the Bruins are still in first place! Thanks Clayton! The hotel was very clean and nicely appointed; we had some trouble up on the fifth floor with noise but again it was New Year's night and so perhaps they were still people who were oblivious to the fact that they were in a hotel room and that other people could hear them celebrating at 2 AM. Certainly not the hotel's fault and if it really bothered me I would've called down to the front desk and had them take care of it. Our room had a lovely view of the cranberry bogs!

I wished I'd looked into other area options after being informed while checking in that the pet fee was now $25 higher than I was quoted on the website as of January 1st, and not being informed, noticing on the bill as I left, that there was an -additional- "pet cleaning" fee of $15 added to the tab. Something was off-kilter in the ventilation of the room I was assigned, and the air was often too dry for most of the evening while we were there. It eventually corrected itself overnight once I turned the fan mode off. I also noticed the lack of bathroom ventilation that a previous reviewer commented on and that the bathroom did not seem to be connected to the heating for the rest of the room. Proximity to a couple of restaurants across the parking lot was nice, and additional shopping areas are just up the street. Having driven by this place somewhat regularly over the last several years, I'm glad to have tried it, but not sure I would want to stay again.

Cutest little cottages and a nice big pool. This was already looking good. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Irene, the proprietor, who made us right at home. The cottages were perfect, the kids had one and the boy an I had an adjacent cottage (complete with a cute little porch). The rooms were clean and well appointed, air conditioned and they even shuffled us around when we saw the porch unit. Fred and Irene could not have been better hosts. As we relaxed by the pool they made us feel like we were long lost friends. What a comfort in today's world of "institutional lodging". We had such a great time on day one that we stayed an extra day. Aside from the hotel's amenities and charming hosts the Motel was located in a perfect position for us. We could easily scoot to beautiful beaches, take a walk along the canal and even take the kids bowling, mini golfing and go kart riding (I lost all three but it was worth it for the family time!).
