What started out as a one star review has elevated to a five star thanks to a very professional and efficient general manager in Clayton Walsh. He wisely intervened after I left my Boston Bruins scarf there over the New Year's holiday. I called the evening I lost it and was told they would put it in the mail and took my credit card number. I waited about a week and didn't hear and then called back and left a message. I was transferred to a front desk supervisor and received a call back saying that my original credit card number was written on a piece of paper that was shredded and therefore my package could not be mailed. I provided the credit card number again and expected the package this week. I was told I would get a voice message when it was mailed and that never happened. I called back and left a message and was told it would "go out in the mail today". Today I received a call from Clayton indicating that when they went to process the credit card at the post office the number would not go through and that he would put it in the mail for me no charge. I thought this was very responsible on his part considering our status level with Marriott and the fact that it is pretty much the only hotel chain we use and the fact that I provided our credit card number twice to hotel personnel. Anxious to get my scarf back as the Bruins are still in first place! Thanks Clayton! The hotel was very clean and nicely appointed; we had some trouble up on the fifth floor with noise but again it was New Year's night and so perhaps they were still people who were oblivious to the fact that they were in a hotel room and that other people could hear them celebrating at 2 AM. Certainly not the hotel's fault and if it really bothered me I would've called down to the front desk and had them take care of it. Our room had a lovely view of the cranberry bogs! read more

Not a terrible place, but a little underwhelming. Room was clean - that's the most important thing Breakfast is minimal - much much fewer choices than other Marriotts. Front desk staff were okay. I'll be honest - I've never thought about it until it didn't happen: in over 700 (yes 700) stays at Marriott hotels, this is the first time the staff checking me in didn't say, "Thank you for being a platinum member" & didn't ask if we wanted points or market place item. When I offered, "we'd like points, please," all she said was, "I see your member number." Odd response & didn't really confirm that she was giving us points rather than market item. Dead rat right outside the entrance was unnerving- staff didn't seem like they wanted to do anything with it, & only put it in the outside trash can because another person staying insisted the rat be disposed of/removed from line-of-sight. read more

My cat and I recently stayed here for one night due to needing to be early morning prompt to a nearby area commitment the next day. I wished I'd looked into other area options after being informed while checking in that the pet fee was now $25 higher than I was quoted on the website as of January 1st, and not being informed, noticing on the bill as I left, that there was an -additional- "pet cleaning" fee of $15 added to the tab. Something was off-kilter in the ventilation of the room I was assigned, and the air was often too dry for most of the evening while we were there. It eventually corrected itself overnight once I turned the fan mode off. I also noticed the lack of bathroom ventilation that a previous reviewer commented on and that the bathroom did not seem to be connected to the heating for the rest of the room. Proximity to a couple of restaurants across the parking lot was nice, and additional shopping areas are just up the street. Having driven by this place somewhat regularly over the last several years, I'm glad to have tried it, but not sure I would want to stay again. read more

I stayed at the TownPlace Suites in Massachusetts while I'm here attending the Massachusetts Maritime Academy new school ship christening on Friday afternoon. This is a nice place. This is a standard townhouse suite with a small kitchenette. It appears to be a newer hotel. What truly sets this establishment apart was the exceptional service I received upon check-in. The clerk's name was Amanda, and I cannot recall the last time I received service of such high caliber. She informed me that it was only her third day working alone. Great job Amanda!! read more

Visited 09/01/2019 Anticipating too much traffic on our trip to Provincetown, we decided to stop here and take a break, cashing in a free night's stay coupon. We were checked in right away and found the room very neat and clean and there's a reason for that. The place is only 4 years old, built in 2015 and seems to be very well maintained. There are what seems to be decent restaurants near by. We went to Saga Fusion (sushi/steakhouse) and were very happy with the meal. There is a full breakfast that's served which was pretty good and got us on the way to P-Town with a smile on our face. I'd have no problem stopping here again next time we're on our way to the Cape. read more

My second, and probably last, time staying here. The first stay a few weeks ago was fine, no issues. This time, however, turned into a nightmare. I asked one of the housekeepers for a bar of soap from her cart, and she turned around to get it, saying "You people!" I'd like to say she muttered it under her breath, but she said it nice and loud enough for me to hear. So hospitable. A little later, we were transferring to another room, I heard this same housekeeper outside my room, scolding and reprimanding my elementary-aged son about slamming the door, and that there are other people staying here. Excuse me?! Where does the housekeeper, or any hotel staff for that matter, get off correcting my child while his parents are nearby (and yes she knew we were in the room, didn't care). I went down the hall, and could hear her bitching to her co-worker about the child that she just had to discipline, saying "These people are so rude!" I know what words like "you people" and "these people" are code for, so I took my grievances down to the front desk and asked for the manager. I explained what had happened to my son, and told him I wanted an apology from the employee who had treated us so rudely. I never got one. What I got, after he spoke with her, was him gaslighting me that there are two sides to every story (you mean like there are very fine people on both sides?), and suggested that I had misinterpreted what had happened. His employee and her co-worker, of course, denied that she had yelled or scolded at him, I guess the fact that I witnessed it firsthand didn't mean anything to him. The icing on the cake was when he gave us the choice to check out the next day, or to leave that same day. I guess business is brisk again if hotel management can afford to alienate paying guests and make them feel so unwelcome. I have zero interest in returning to this location. But rest assured, if you're not one of "these people," you should be fine! read more

This is my mother's go to place to put up family when they are in town. My gf and I stayed here 3 nights last week and enjoyed our stay. There is nothing special about the hotel. It's just your basic hotel, but nice overall. There is plenty of parking, restaurants in the plaza it is located in, and breakfast in the morning. There is also a pool which is a plus. I'd definitely return as its 7 miles from my parents house and was only a little over $400 for 3 nights. read more

This is our go to hotel when we head to the cape for sports. The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious and the staff is always lovely. The rooms have full size refrigerators and counter top stoves which are helpful for long weekend stays. Breakfast is pretty typical but definitely nice to have. Clean pool, and ample space to connect with teammates. An added bonus is it's proximity to the interstate, chain and local eateries and shopping. This past weekend my daughter left her beloved stuffy behind. Clayton the GM went above and beyond to get that turtle back to us as quickly as possible. We are so thankful! read more

Can I give this hotel 10 stars? We were traveling with 2 pre-teens and a toddler and our suite was perfect for our family! We asked for a crib and it was set up in our room prior to our arrival with a little bath toy and baby shampoo and lotion (nice touch)! Breakfast was great each day and we enjoyed sitting near the window to look out and see the cranberry bog! Requested a room along the backside of the hotel/along the bogs and loved look out every morning on the scenery! Front desk was friendly and helpful and greeted us each and every time we walked through the doors. The kids loved the cookies every afternoon! This hotel is phenomenal and friendly. We were attending a wedding here and after the ceremony ended- we asked the hotel manager where it was okay to congregate. He told the group the patio behind the hotel was acceptable so long as there were no open containers or excessive noise. Both requests were complied with, however within 30 minutes, the manager advised the group to vacate the premise or the police department would be called. Besides the fact that over 30 people in attendance were room holders at the time of the complaint, the fact that the group was congregated where the hotel advised, and that noise had been kept to an absolute bare minimum- the threats/mismanagement and poor judgement demonstrated by the hotel was abhorrent. If you are hoping to use this facility for any event I would strongly advise against it. read more

Ok, so we decided to book a quality hotel close to Edaville Park. Overall, good and friendly service. Very clean and new. Nice size tv in the room. Modern room, has a kitchen too with an apartment sized fridge, 2 electric burners, dishwasher, counter space, etc. The only reason why I wouldnt rate it will a full 5 stars is because of 2 things: 1. The mattress is ok, but I felt like it lacked support and Im only 150lbs. Felt as if I was sinking in. Not good for the back. 2. The bathroom lacks a ventilation fan, and that was a clear issue. Overall, a good hotel for you and your family to stay at...just don't go to Cart Land, its an outdated waste of time and money. read more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel this past weekend. When we arrived, we were very impressed. The check-in went very smoothly, the room was lovely and the closets were wonderful! We had a great nights sleep, the bed was very comfortable. But then it went wrong! We left the hotel at 10:30 Saturday morning to visit with friends and returned to our room at 4:30 to freshen up for dinner. When we returned, we were shocked to see that our room wasn't made up. I inquired at the front desk and they said that we must have left our room too late. I informed them that we left at 10:30 a.m. and we were told that housekeeping comes in early and if they can't get into a room on the first try, they don't try again. I explained that since we were on a mini-vacation we wanted a casual, relaxing morning; apparently, that's not encouraged at the TownPlace by Marriott in Wareham. Nope you need to get up and out at the crack of dawn if you want your bed made or fresh towels. I returned to our room with fresh towels in hand and we made the bed and straightened up the room just like we do at home...no vacation here! So disappointed. read more

I would not recommend this hotel. it is very expensive for the Wareham area. $259 per night. The room I had was very small, the king size bed took up most of the room. Breakfast was decent. They offered a good variety of hot and cold items. However the room service was terrible. I've never seen a bed made so sloppy. After checking out Sunday I realized I left 3 shirts hanging in the closet, I called on my way to the airport that same day and the receptionist told me to call back the next day, after housekeeping had a chance to turn in items to laundry. I called back each day for the next 4 days but they were not helpful in the least. I don't think anyone even checked or spoke to the cleaning crew until 4 days later when I insisted to speak with the manager. read more

We come here every year w the kids when we visit Thomas Land. The hotel room is ways clean and the kids love the pool. Having restaurants across the parking lot really helps when you're tired of driving and have a bunch of kids that need to stretch. We've been coming here for 3 years and will continue to do so. Great hotel. It's clean, staff is friendly, great free breakfast, etc. Rooms are modern, and my room had a king bed, pull out couch, and full kitchenette including an apartment sized fridge, 2 burner electric stove top, full sized dishwasher, and sink. My only problem with the room is that it seemed to lack a ventilation fan in the bathroom which was a clear issue throughout our stay. It's very odd for a hotel to not have a ventilation fan in the bathroom. The other issue with the room is the mattress. It's Ok, but I'm not that heavy and by the time I woke up, I felt as if there was a lack of support in the lower back area where it seemed as if I was sleeping in a small pit. Sounds strange, but just looking at it as a lack of good support. This will only get worse as these mattresses get used. Hotel management should aim some attention to the pool area. I'm not sure what the state pool codes are in MA. This pool has signage that reads " no lifeguard on duty", which is fine, however, one sign reads children under 16 "should" not swim without an adult present, and another sign reads children under 14 "are not permitted" without an adult. Does this mean that if you are 15 or 16 you can swim without an adult, but you should have one present on the pool deck? These rules were out the window anyway, because there were young kids well below age 14 in the pool when we arrived with no one on the deck in case something may have happened. Foolish of Marriott by not providing a full time lifeguard while the pool is in use. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel if you need to stay somewhere decent in this area. read more

I stay here every time I come to town for work. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are designed nice and although the king suite isn't very big but feels big the way it's arranged. Nice gym with free weights/elliptical/treadmills. The pool is now and big. The breakfast wasn't my favorite Marriott breakfast but it is serviceable. Always enjoy my stays here. read more

I would highly recommend staying at this hotel if you are in the area. My wife and I arranged for 100 of our wedding guests to stay here and the entire process went smoothly. One can imagine the amount of coordination that required and the Towneplace team did a great job accommodating all of our guests. The staff were very friendly and helpful for any requests we had. The hotel room was nice but the hotel charged me extra money and the dumbass employee working the phone was absolutely no help whatsoever. I stayed for 2 nights and was charged over $400? The room was supposed to be $150 and I left with everything in tact. They couldn't even find the extra transaction for $60 or whatever it was. I would give this hotel 10 stars if I could. It was clean, the staff was friendly and the free breakfast was delicious. Our room had two queen beds, a FULL SIZE kitchen, a dining table and was plenty big enough for our family of 6. I couldn't believe the value for the price. It's close to multiple restaurants (Red Robin, Longhorn Steakhouse, The 99, Five Guys, Starbucks, etc.) and Wareham Crossing (Target). The pool was small, but big enough to keep my kids happy for an hour. We stayed here for a conference that was at the hotel, but would certainly come back in the future. read more

SHOCKINGLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE..after being without power already for over 24hrs we were allowed to make a confirmed online reservation for this property. Apparently they had forgotten to turn this feature off where as my wife, young children, and Mother-in- Law drove all the way down the Cape only to be rudely informed upon arrival "you know we don't have any power right"? My wife was so upset she turned around and walked out the door without saying a word. WOW - I have no words to describe my frustration, but WAIT IT GETS WORSE... When I called the property and spoke to Sarah at the front desk she informed me, even though the hotel was in obvious disarray, that there was NO MANGER on property to which I could speak (even after I told her why I was calling) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if this is their level of professionalism & caring do not stay here. Be very careful of this hotel. Several of us booked the same type of room all at the same time. None of us requested anything different. Theirs had a king bed and cost $189 - ours had two queen beds and cost $222. Nothing else was different and none of us asked for the king or queen size. Hotel refused to credit us the $33 difference. Also, you can hear others on both sides so if you have 'noisy' partygoers, you're up till 2 or 3 a.m. Would recommend looking elsewhere. read more
