The hotel was nice enough,but the hospitality was not....ive worked in customer servicemany years and i wouldnt dare talk to or treat anyone like he treated me....i actually was going to gift them a piece of my art decided against it,i didnt feel he deserved a kindness like that lol

He wisely intervened after I left my Boston Bruins scarf there over the New Year's holiday. I called the evening I lost it and was told they would put it in the mail and took my credit card number. I waited about a week and didn't hear and then called back and left a message. I was transferred to a front desk supervisor and received a call back saying that my original credit card number was written on a piece of paper that was shredded and therefore my package could not be mailed. I provided the credit card number again and expected the package this week. I was told I would get a voice message when it was mailed and that never happened. I called back and left a message and was told it would "go out in the mail today". Today I received a call from Clayton indicating that when they went to process the credit card at the post office the number would not go through and that he would put it in the mail for me no charge. I thought this was very responsible on his part considering our status level with Marriott and the fact that it is pretty much the only hotel chain we use and the fact that I provided our credit card number twice to hotel personnel. Anxious to get my scarf back as the Bruins are still in first place! Thanks Clayton! The hotel was very clean and nicely appointed; we had some trouble up on the fifth floor with noise but again it was New Year's night and so perhaps they were still people who were oblivious to the fact that they were in a hotel room and that other people could hear them celebrating at 2 AM. Certainly not the hotel's fault and if it really bothered me I would've called down to the front desk and had them take care of it. Our room had a lovely view of the cranberry bogs!

Front desk staff were okay. I'll be honest - I've never thought about it until it didn't happen: in over 700 (yes 700) stays at Marriott hotels, this is the first time the staff checking me in didn't say, "Thank you for being a platinum member" & didn't ask if we wanted points or market place item. When I offered, "we'd like points, please," all she said was, "I see your member number." Odd response & didn't really confirm that she was giving us points rather than market item. Dead rat right outside the entrance was unnerving- staff didn't seem like they wanted to do anything with it, & only put it in the outside trash can because another person staying insisted the rat be disposed of/removed from line-of-sight.

The fish and chips are $8.50. A goodly crowd gathers here for the generous portions, low prices, raffles and live music after 8pm. Double bonus round: full bar with $3 mixed drinks! Heaven on cranberry highway!

Everything still seemed new and was nice and clean. The outside sitting areas at the hotel looked nice but we didn't have time to use them. Free breakfast the next morning was what to be expected (waffles, eggs, cereals, coffee, fruits, and bread items ). It seemed clean and well stocked. We would stay here again.

The next morning they had me up at the crack of dawn and into the car before i could object. An hour and 10 minutes later we pulled up at the Bay Motor Inn. Cutest little cottages and a nice big pool. This was already looking good. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Irene, the proprietor, who made us right at home. The cottages were perfect, the kids had one and the boy an I had an adjacent cottage (complete with a cute little porch). The rooms were clean and well appointed, air conditioned and they even shuffled us around when we saw the porch unit. Fred and Irene could not have been better hosts. As we relaxed by the pool they made us feel like we were long lost friends. What a comfort in today's world of "institutional lodging". We had such a great time on day one that we stayed an extra day. Aside from the hotel's amenities and charming hosts the Motel was located in a perfect position for us. We could easily scoot to beautiful beaches, take a walk along the canal and even take the kids bowling, mini golfing and go kart riding (I lost all three but it was worth it for the family time!). Looking for a great, affordable getaway? Check it out... we loved it and we're already planning our next escape to "The Bay"! Shhh .... don't tell anyone ... We were notified a few days before our trip that one of us would not be able to get a mani/pedi. Thankfully, we asked about our couples massage because that had to be corrected as well. Everything else went smoothly upon arrival. We were greeted at check-in and shown to our rooms and helped with our bags. Our room was beautiful and had a lovely fireplace, patio and view of the grounds. Every meal that we ate on site was incredible. We even ordered room service one morning to take full advantage of our room. The staff everywhere was kind, helpful, and fun. We definitely want to plan a trip back and take advantage of the bike rentals that they have available. Great location, excellent place for a calm, relaxing weekend on the grounds and even easy to wander into town.
