The water is kind of murky but it's apparently safe. Along with the beach is the park. There's some great views. It seems like a safe area. There's usually someone on patrol. It has a public bathroom. It doesn't reek of piss. They charge for parking but you can park for free on a side street.

There was also a very low bridge you have to duck under. On the positive side, we found it was nice to be able to kayak to the Castaways restaurant. They have a public kayak dock to pull up to, it was great. They have good food too. It was okay, but not welcoming for new people who are not familiar with the area.
