We've been in Meister's before so we knew what to expect. Just to be clear, this place is not fancy, it is a classic old time small town bar ambiance, BUT it offers friendly service and a great burger and onion rings, all at a fair price. The owner was making fresh pies. I walked away with a slice of banana while my husband decided with coconut. The cost for our meal and our take home dessert was very very reasonable. Also, ordered a rib eye and was brought prime rib, then took about 20 mins to correct, and had reheated and dried out the baked potato. Then was told his sour cream was on "her" plate. Her being the person who ordered a chicken Caesar salad. WTF? The good-- decent salad bar (still a salad bar though), and the chicken fingers and fried we ordered for the toddler in the group looked pretty good (especially in light of what the rest of us got). Good water, and free mints. That's it. We did notice a for sale sign out front, and I think these people have already given up. This used to be a good place to go with previous owners. Using YELP to find the best restaurants in the area we decided to try the Birch Supper Club which was ranked as the # 1 restaurant in the area. The Silver Birch Supper Club was more than what we hoped to find. The food was spectacular and the employees were so kind and helpful (my wife has some serious health problems). Our server, Oriana, was extremely kind and understanding. Being in Wisconsin I felt obligated to order a Brandy Old Fashioned, and it was one of the best drinks I have ever had! Hats off to you ma'am. We live in Cincinnati, but we are already encouraging our daughters to bring their families to the Tomahawk area and to go to the Silver Birch Supper Club on vacation. If I could give this restaurant 6 stars, I would.
