In all my years of dealing with mechanics, this group is definitely at the top of the food chain for efficiency and customer care. Yep, another occasion in my attempt at keeping my prized 2006 Mustang GT convertible rolling. I told Gregg the owner that I would drop it off at 8:00 the following morning when they open. Paperwork was done in very short order and I was standing out front in 10 minutes waiting for my ride. 3 minutes later I see my car being driven into the repair bay. I had asked Gregg how long they would need, and he replied around 4 hours. A few ticks past 10:00 I receive a call that my new radiator was ready for the road. Nice! You would think that the well oiled machine that this company is, and the fact they have been in business for a couple of decades that they would be priced high. Not so. I had one estimate at $600 and another at $690. Here? $375. They also do air-conditioning repairs and marine work as well. I doubt that anyone else in this business can match them for such high quality workmanship, and especially what they charge their customers. read more

I turned up with an old marine heat exchanger and it did not phase them in the least. They offer a standard refurbishment price of $125 (all in) and turned it around within 24 hrs! They even braised on a new pencil anode attachment for me as part of the standard service. My car has been overheating for a year. I finally took it Firestone and they quoted me $1100 to replace the radiator, thermostat and fabs. Yeah. No. Harbor Radiator replaced the radiator in my old Accord a few years ago and it was affordable so I called them. They quoted me $670 and held onto my info so there was no bait & switch with the pricing. I took it in today and an hour after dropping it off, they called and said my radiator & thermostat was fine & did not need to be replaced. They recommend a local shop that specializes in the electrical components & even drove my car there for the other mechanic to fix it. They could have easily done the repairs I went in for and made their $670. I'm sure in this time of Covid, they could have used that money. I really respect their ethics and will continue to use them and recommend them to anyone who needs radiator repairs! read more

In the twenty plus years I have been living in Costa Mesa I never once paid these guys a visit; nevertheless, I am extremely glad that my radiator finally gave out to give me an excuse to go. They never tried to up-sell me a more expensive radiator just something that went along with my budget and that would work for years. I would go out of my way to bring my business here without any hesitation. The minute you walk into the old timey front office it's obvious these guys are the real deal and know what they are doing. The owner took care of us right away, listened to what we had to say, looked a little closer and recommended another mechanic a block away that specialized in our issue. What!!! Harbor Radiator is super. My 1998 Honda Passport had a leaking radiator. The dealer wanted $1,000 to replace it; another independent I checked with wanted $700. The guys at Harbor Radiator did it promptly and well for $386. This place is strictly old school, the office looks like nothing has changed since 1972 but don't let the plain exterior and lack of fancy signs fool you.
