Despite the circumstances, the experience was outstanding from start to finish. Derek, my sales rep, was professional, responsive, and great to work with. The business office secured me a fantastic loan rate and handled a complex registration process with ease--they registered the boat in Arizona so I could run legally with an AZ number on Lake Havasu, while still sending all billing and documentation to my home in Newport Coast, CA. They made a potentially complicated process completely smooth. Mike, the owner, was hands-on throughout the deal. It's rare to see an owner so involved, and it really shows in the way this dealership operates. Since the purchase, I've been working with Jim, the General Manager and Service Manager at Sun Country Marine in Lake Havasu, and he's been awesome. Whether it's routine service or helping in a pinch--like the time I rolled through on a Saturday with a dead battery--Jim gets it done. He swapped in two new batteries on the spot and had me back on the water in no time. That kind of service is hard to find. Sun Country Marine is a top-tier dealership with a team that truly cares. From Newport Beach to Lake Havasu, they've taken great care of me, and I highly recommend them to anyone in the market for a boat or reliable service. -- Troy Barnes, Newport Coast, CA

Since that time I have owned several boats and have dealt with different brokers, and what I found was that a lot of brokers were not too forth coming with detailed help when it came to purchasing a boat. A few years back I reached out to JR and wanted to purchase a 2008 Formula 350 SS. I was ready to buy it when JR told me I needed to do my due diligence and have the boat surveyed and checked out to see if it had any issues, He gave me names of Surveyors and Mechanics that he trusted and valued. After reviewing both the boat and engines surveys, and with the boat having some issues just like all used boat. JR was very helpful with the negotiations making sure a fair selling price was agreed by both seller and buyer covering any repairs that were safety matters and needed to be addressed. My wife, who doesn't trust a sole, looks out for me because, as she says I look through rose colored glasses, and she put JR to the test, and JR knew that if my wife didn't trust him, she would put him through the wringer. When my wife and I were ready to step up to a bigger boat, JR was the first one I called. He explained to me in detail how bigger boats require more attention than little boats and wanted us to be aware of that. He educated me on what to look for and steered me away from what he felt were not quality boats. 6 months ago, I stepped up to a 45' boat and JR was there for us every step of the way. We looked at many boats, and he wouldn't let us settle for just anything. Again, he helped us with the negotiations to make sure we purchased it at a good price. We are loving our new boat and are glad that JR was looking out for us, not just trying to make a sale. Thank you for your guidance and friendship. See you on the water, Joe and Stephanie

Sounded good to me. Unfortunately for me, this engine blew out while I was starting it in my drive way. It was about 3 months past the warranty, I called Brad to take a look at it to find out what was wrong and have it fixed. He took a look at it and then never got back to me. I called Elio and he told me Brad didn't want work on it and it was probably my fault it went out. WTF. That was in February. Now I got to get someone else to fix it and need to get them info on it. So I go look up serial number. Turns out this Johnson was not an 89, it was 1979. My impression of their used outboard business is this: They get the motors working, slap it on your boat, and hope it lasts past the 30 day warranty. I am super disappointed. I could say more but I am done typing. Check my profile. I never leave reviews. I felt my experience with Amber Marine was so bad I felt compelled to leave this review. They suck. I don't know all the ins and outs of the Agreement/Acceptance paperwork, but Rick made the entire process simple through constant digital paperwork updates and clear explanations of each step in the standard processing. Rick joined us for the Survey, Sea Trial and Haul/Re-Launch day. He made sure to skillfully manage the negotiation process between the seller and myself based on our findings throughout that day of discovery. The owner was not present, but Rick made sure to know every detail possible about the vessel to assist myself and the surveyors in the exploration of the vessel.
