I was having a couple of other issues and after three different mechanics either ghost me or found way above their skill set, I reached out to Old Town Marine. Best decision ever!!!! They came out on time as promised. Text messages to let you know every step of the way. Upfront pricing so you know what to expect. We've been getting out boat at Spencer's for a few years now and are always extremely pleased at both how we are treated as customers and the quality of the boats. Even when we thought we didn't have enough gas to get back, they sister ya via phone (we made it back without having to search for a gas station on another island because we went so far out lol). The deck boat we typically rent is perfect for lobstering with a nice open front for arranging your gear, and places on both the front and the back to jump in. The well-maintained canopy definitely helps out with all of that summer sun! In 2019, we are looking forward to once again using Spencer's for our boating needs. Thanks again, y'all!

As much as I wanted Mark himself to work on my equipment, he was swamped with other work and was unable to be the mechanic on my job. Everyone wants the best, but I understand that is not always possible. After repeated attempts for Mark, another person in his employ at the time came to my boat. To say the least, his service was subpar and not the kind that Mark is known for. After a period of time of it not getting repaired, I had to seek other means of repair. Thru another one of Mark's employees, he became aware of this. This subpar employee is no longer with his company and Mark himself personally made it a point to correct this even offering to repay me for the services someone else had to provide me. We all make mistakes, but how we handle a mistake is the measure of both good business and a great person. Mark and his company are just that! Michael even coordinated the haul out with the marina that did not need to occur. I found them to be responsive, honest and hard working. The work is hard, hot and in confined spaces. The issue was a control module that is now back ordered for 14 weeks, nothing anyone can do about that. Michael offered to get a captain and move the boat to a closer and less expensive marina. They have gone above and beyond for me. I have had my boat on the east and west coast of Florida and you will not find better service and honesty than with Marine Diesel of the Florida Keys.

This company does not even deserve 1 star. I contacted them In July, '25 for a remote 300 hr…read more service and a minor fiberglass repair . They said yes. Then after taking the job, they decided that they could not do the fiberglass work. So, I agreed that they would do the 300 hr. service on both engines. Next, after several weeks and spending a day trying to put the lower back on in Starboard engine, they told me I needed a new one. And that an overhauled one would be about $1,800. I agreed to pay and asked them to order one. Then the mechanic took a 2 week vacation, and all work stopped. I could not get through to the service manager either, for several days. Next they told me to buy a lower unit (that they found on e-Bay) and they would install it. (There are a lot more bad details that I am skipping over.) Long story made short: after 3 + months and over $18,000 in charges - we got the boat back into the water. With more problems than we had before. The throttle/shift controls were so stiff you could barely operate the boat. They said we needed new cables. We checked the cables. That was not the problem. The new trim units they installed constantly leaked too. Finally I took the boat to another, reputable service company. The "new" lower unit was coming apart because the overhaul was done incorrectly. The "new" shift shaft was bent on their installation, which caused the control problems. So I spend $9,000 more to repair the damage done by this outfit!
