Mobile Marine Key West - We Fix Boats!

This company hasn't got a clue. For an entire month I was lead to believe they would fix my bilge…read moresystem. Phone calls, text, repeatedly passing me off or ignoring me. The owner, Matt, relied on information from another company as to where my thru hull was, claiming it was below my waterline. Apparently paint is that indicator. After a month, the owner finally came out. Walked around my boat for 10 minutes. Insulted my boat wanted me to clean up my bilge which was already done to the tune of $3800 claiming it has diesel in it. Clueless!!!! Then he had the balls to ask me if he could bill me for his time. Unfuckingbelievable!!! There are good people in the Keys, Matt is not one of them.

I heard a funny noise coming from my motors the day before I was supposed to head home 250 miles…read moreacross the Gulf of Mexico with my wife and two kids. The boat seemed normal except for the new slight tapping noise. Friday morning, two weeks ago today, I called around, and Matt from Mobile Marine Key West was the only person who understood my situation and took the time, SAME DAY, between appointments, to come out and look at my motors. Thank goodness he came out because the noise was the parts from my lower trying to escape its casing. Matt made a few calls and hooked me up with a shipyard to store my boat that day(great guys!) and an authorized dealer for my motor repair who ordered the part that day(who does that? Amazing!) My Family and I rented a car and drove home safely. I am ecstatic to report that I picked my boat up yesterday. It has a new lower unit installed, and everything is amazing! My family is safe, we have our boat back in record time, and this week's vacation in the Keys is back on because of Matt & team! THANK YOU!!

I am a full time fishing guide in the Fort Myers area but I vacation annually in the lower Keys…read moreevery Fall. Last year (2018) my lower skeg hit bottom here in the Keys and this bottom can be very unforgiving, i.e. rock hard bottom. Well it ripped the bottom portion of my skeg off and bent the output shaft. Took it to The Prop Doc on Stock Island based on a local fishing guide's high recommendation. He straightened out the output shaft without taking the shaft out of the lower unit, I didn't think that was even possible. That alone saves a ton of labor which saves people like you and me, money. When I picked up the newly welded skeg, it was literally impossible to see where he wielded the new metal onto the original skeg. Almost like he gave me an entire new lower unit housing. After approximately 700 hours of use on the rebuilt skeg, I hit something in the water (4 feet in depth) and thought my entire lower unit would be gone. Upon closer inspection, my lower unit was not only ok and functional, and the wielded skeg was still intact. However, it was bent and I therefore waited till I got to the Lower Keys so I could have the Prop Doc fix it as I didn't really trust anyone else. I pick up the repaired skeg tomorrow and I'm confident it will look like new, as it did the last time he repaired it. He is "The Man" when it comes to outboard lower units. Capt Paul Hobby
