Harbor Marine Electric - Solar panel installation, design and fabrication on Lagoon 39

Came to Robbie's Marina to get my bilges pumped out repaired and because this is a new purchase for…read moreme l had a laundry list of repairs and upgrades. Bunch of guys got on my boat, 55'r, and decided that for my boat to fit in there hoist my rigging needed to be disconnected, to lift it out. The guy from Harbor Marine asked what I needed, told him my bilge pumps stopped working and I have a list of things I wanted done. He asked me if I had a budget and I should had said not yet, instead I said $100k. I grab a hotel room down the street and came back the next day to see that indeed they were pumped out 1 bilge into a 55gal drum, cool. Tried to talk to Tyrone the owner of Harbor, he's busy, come back tomorrow. Came back the following day and nothing had changed from yesterday. The hose was in the same place, no one is on my boat. Again I tried to have a conversation and was told he's at lunch. I waited on my boat and went back to the office, nothing. The very next day, same everything. My wife decided to fly home and I moved onto my boat. We get an email from Robbie's saying we owed them approximately $380. No big deal, just pay it honey, wonder what that was for, do they bill weekly rent. In the meantime, Harbor wants to talk finally and they hand me a quote for $117, 000. They ran with the most expensive items and glazed over some items I wanted. They completely ignored specific requests. There's no way I'm paying this amount. I went back to the Internet and I priced everything on their list and found out that they were charging me 22% in some cases over retail and then a couple items 33% over retail. Back to the bilge issue, Unannounced to me or my wife, they submitted a bill to Robbies Marina for $3800. And that we were responsible for 10% over that to go to Robbies Marina to the tune to $380. Harbor Marine did not give me an invoice or anything at the time. I guess they figured that if they were going to charge me that amount of money to pump out one bilge and leave the other bilge full, let's not say anything until we present this quote. In that quote, at my request, I wanted a solar arch put on the back of my boat. In conversation, they said it would be approximately $10-$12,000. My response, is that installed, of course. After the quote was denied, the solar arch jumped from $12,000-$18,000 and that would not cover installation. At this point, our relationship is turning into an adversarial one. It was all about extracting as much as they could get. Come time to leave Robbie's Marina they refuse to make my boat whole again, suggested I call a rigger to reconnect my standing rigging.

Fantastic customer service and repairs on my 2019 HCB 42' Siesta. I was coming in from Ca to use…read moremy boat and the Seakeeper stopped working. They were able to get a tech out the following day and determine the problem. They overnighted a new switch and got back to the boat the next day to finish the work. They were able to make my trip a huge success since my wife is very sensitive to sea sickness. I cannot say enough good about these people. From Karli that took the appointment to Tyrone, one of the owners they were absolutely fantastic !!!

This company hasn't got a clue. For an entire month I was lead to believe they would fix my bilge…read moresystem. Phone calls, text, repeatedly passing me off or ignoring me. The owner, Matt, relied on information from another company as to where my thru hull was, claiming it was below my waterline. Apparently paint is that indicator. After a month, the owner finally came out. Walked around my boat for 10 minutes. Insulted my boat wanted me to clean up my bilge which was already done to the tune of $3800 claiming it has diesel in it. Clueless!!!! Then he had the balls to ask me if he could bill me for his time. Unfuckingbelievable!!! There are good people in the Keys, Matt is not one of them.

The boat seemed normal except for the new slight tapping noise. Friday morning, two weeks ago today, I called around, and Matt from Mobile Marine Key West was the only person who understood my situation and took the time, SAME DAY, between appointments, to come out and look at my motors. Thank goodness he came out because the noise was the parts from my lower trying to escape its casing. Matt made a few calls and hooked me up with a shipyard to store my boat that day(great guys!) and an authorized dealer for my motor repair who ordered the part that day(who does that? Amazing!) My Family and I rented a car and drove home safely. I am ecstatic to report that I picked my boat up yesterday. It has a new lower unit installed, and everything is amazing! My family is safe, we have our boat back in record time, and this week's vacation in the Keys is back on because of Matt & team! THANK YOU!!
