Onion petals - the half order will be enough for four

Great first experience at Harbor Inn. Even though the parking lot was very full, we were able to be seated immediately at a window seat. The littles liked being able to look outside and see their reflection in the glass. The interior is typical seafood restaurant with boats and lighthouses. I was surprised to see a tv on one wall. Like most seafood restaurants, you pay at the front here and bathrooms are at the front. There is a mixture of tables and booths, and they have seating for large parties in the back. We got a 1/2 order of the onion petals as recommended by our waitress. I don't think we would've been able to eat a whole order. They are individually fried pieces of onion, which is different from the typical cut and battered whole onion that is fried. The onion pieces were consistently crispy and not soggy. We split a seafood platter, which contained fried oysters, fried shrimp, fried flounder, a deviled crab, hushpuppies, and our side was fries. The littles liked the fried shrimp, and then the adults split the rest. After the appetizer, this was plenty for us all to eat and be full. A solid seafood option for Burlington.

We went to Harbor Inn last Friday. We usually get it to go but this time we ate in. The wait wasn't bad, about 10 min. The service was pretty good. The waitress kept our glasses full and was very friendly. I ordered the 2 combination plate with shrimp and oysters. For some reason I really wanted oysters. I've never had oysters here before but they were good. I asked that they fry them hard, which they did. Next time I won't get them as hard but they were still good. I've always liked their coleslaw. That's my favorite condiment! My husband ordered the chicken tenders which were fried to perfection, not too hard or crispy. If you love seafood and haven't been to Harbor Inn, I recommend checking them out.

This is our favorite place to eat seafood. We stop here to eat on our way to the beach! The food comes out hot and fresh. Cooked perfectly we especially love the flounder it is thick and flaky. The Service is ALWAYS excellent! And this restaurant is very clean and has a great family atmosphere. Portion size is more than most can eat. (We share a large plate) We highly recommend Harbor Inn!

Today I was in Burlington and tried many spots. But this was my last place for the day. So there are two entrances, one for dine in and the other for togo orders. The food is delicious. I got the jumbo shrimp with catfish and fried oysters. I had to try it before hitting the road and it was good. Food was hot! The tartar sauce is delicious. Nice vibe. Will be back!!

I haven't eaten here in several years, and decided to go back to see if it was as good as I remembered. My husband and I got the catfish and shrimp combos which were really well cooked and crispy! Our server as well as the rest of the staff were nice and the restaurant was clean even though you can tell the building is a little old. We would definitely return for the seafood, but did not love the sides and wish they had a few more options! The hush puppies could have also been sweeter/more flavorful and there should be more included with the meal. Harbor Inn is a good seafood restaurant with dependable service and family friendly atmosphere overall!

My food and service is always to perfection when I come here. The restaurant has plenty dining room seating and the service is still fast when packed. There is an area where you can wait or drive up for Togo orders as well. This is a Must Try restaurant for sure!

Harbor Inn is just one of those places where you feel at home. The waitstaff is always friendly & attentive. Our experience this past Saturday was no different. We arrived around 7pm & were promptly seated. I cannot remember our waitress's name (she wore a pink hat) but she was phenomenal! She constantly checking in on us & just sweet-Southern hospitality at its finest! Our food was served fresh & hot! The portions were ample & unlike other local calabash restaurants, were not overly salted. We left happy & full!

Came here for dinner on a Friday night but the wait was about 5 minutes. We arrived about 5:20. Was a longer wait when we left...wait area was packed. Decorated nicely with a nautical theme. The menu is large and has both fried and broiled options. They do have some nonseafood items on the menu. My friend chose a broiled platter with flounder and large shrimp. Came with Cole slaw , hush puppies and choice of potato. She enjoyed it all. I chose fried shrimp and oysters and my sides were the same . It was all very good, even the Cole slaw which I don't always eat. Our server was Mona and she was excellent. We never had to ask for a drink refill and she checked on us several times. Our food came out quickly and was hot. Always a plus in my book. A busy place but worth the wait. I ate here several times when I lived in the area and it is still a great seafood place which is hard to find in NC unless you are on the coast. I will return when I am in the area again.

Looking for a touch of fresh fried seafood then look no further. We visited Harbor Inn Sunday at 12pm and they were extremely packed! We were seated within a few minutes of arriving which I was very surprised. The restaurant is huge!!! Lots of booths/ tables for 4 and larger. Waitress - Very patient with us and accommodating. Food - Cooked to Order. Everything was hot to taste / seasoned to perfection ! Huge serving was enough to take home for dinner. The restaurant was very cozy and had nice sea and ocean decor. Looking forward to visiting Harbor Inn in the Near Future. Couldn't get ton of exterior pics due to the rain so I got what I could get.

There was an employee there chit chatting with a customer while we waited. She then walked away and said someone would be with us shortly. The stand was unattended and we weren't even sure we were in the correct spot. The opposite lot was full so we parked on the south side and thankfully got it right. It would be helpful to mark the entrance in case we parked the opposite side. The turn in going south has one turn on the opposite end. Plenty of parking. The place looks brand new: nice decor. Server Chelsea was very nice and helpful. She got a chicken pasta Alfredo and I got a shrimp and crab cake sandwich. The pasta was way overdone and mushy. It was even very watery. The chicken was sweet. Sweet chicken and Alfredo was pretty terrible. They said all the chicken has the sweet marinade. They should have specified that on the menu because we would have never ordered sweet chicken especially not with Alfredo sauce. The dish in my opinion was pretty bad. I would give that a 1.5/5. Mine was decent. I liked the dill sauce. The bun was sweet and small for the patty but it was ok. The fries were over salted but they came out piping hot and fresh. Would I eat there again? Probably not. It's a small menu with a lot of chicken dishes. Their signature sweet chicken sauce was a turn off for both of us. It was reasonably priced and the server was nice. Overall I have to give the place a 3.5/5. The waiting when we went in and having ro listen to an employee chatting with her friend was off putting while we waited. Had she acknowledged and said someone was coming would have been fine but she completely ignored us until she finished her conversation before saying anything and that was a good 2-3 minutes. The food was a 2.5/5 and the service from Chelsea was excellent. I can't say the same for the lady that ignored us. I give it a 3/5 for that reason. Rounding it up to 4 only because it was so clean and Chelsea's attendance

Everyone was super friendly from the hostess, waitervl etc. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala at spice level 4, and it was absolutely delicious. The spice level was perfect for me--definitely had some heat without being overwhelming. My husband ordered the House Special Chicken Biryani, which included both lamb and chicken, and he really enjoyed it. I'd say his dish was closer to a spicej that's level 3. Before our meal, we were served complimentary crackers and chutney, which were fantastic and a great introduction to the flavors we would enjoy throughout dinner. One thing that really stood out was the portion size. The servings were enormous! These days, with grocery and gas prices being what they are, it's refreshing to find a restaurant that gives you so much food for your money. We both had plenty left over to take home. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering and I was instantly in love with the decor and the friendliness of both the host and server. We began with water to drink, me skipping a mango lassi because I had decided I would have a dessert today since it had been awhile. My friend was a newbie to Indian food so I ordered for us and kept it simple. Palak Paneer and Chicken Mango Jalfreezie, with garlic naan. The papadoms and sauce were tasty and always a nice nibble while we wait for our dishes. Everything arrived hot and fresh and nicely presented. We were advised if we needed more rice to just ask. This is when the disappointment hit for me. While both dishes were good food, cooked well and nicely presented, the true Indian flavors were missing. I also did not detect mango in the dish that should have been flooded with that flavor. I do order my dishes mild, but I always do, and while that does impact the heat which I cannot tolerate, it has never once impacted the full flavor of all the spices. Until here. So sad, as someone who almost craves those flavors and had been looking forward to them all day. I've gone back and forth as to whether to give three or four stars, because everything really was nice but if I go to an Indian restaurant I really am hoping for Indian flavor. It was missing. If I could give 3.5 I would. My big question is always, would I return? I will not. I live in High Point and will continue to dine at the numerous Indian spots near home.
