They opened at 8am and we were there a little after 8:30 on a Sunday and yes, there was a line. But not too long a line and after we were seated there was no line but then a long line when we were leaving. So it is hit or miss in terms of wait time. Cross your fingers and the seating gods may be generous and kind to you. Menu id basically the same. And although there were four females to help with answering the phones for takeout orders, bussing and serving as well as taking orders and payment their system is efficient. When your table is ready you order and pay (if you order a drink a cup for your coffee or drink will be given). It saves time for you to wait for someone to take your order and later to wave someone down to pay. I know other places use this system (like Joe's on Nimitz) but it seems very practical here. Every table had a cold bottle of water waiting for the diners (so no wait help had to refill glasses) and I saw one of the wait help exchange the one on the table for a new cold bottle (that table was vacant for a while). The food is plentiful (most people had at least one take out container) and delicious. My corn beef wasn't from a can and cooked so there was a crisp but still soft on the inside. The spinach and mushrooms were fresh (once had canned mushrooms in my omelet at Zippy's -ugh).

Great vibe, delicious fish tacos, and top-tier margaritas!…read more Popped in with my husband for Taco Tuesday and had a fantastic meal! We ordered the Fish Tacos ($17.95) , which came out as a generous plate of 3 crispy, battered fish tacos loaded with cilantro sauce and salsa. Best part? You can pair your meal with a $7 margarita deal for Taco Tuesday! We tried the Guava Habanero with a Li Hing Mui rim and the Hibiscus with a Tajín rim. Both were packed with flavor and hit the spot. Delicious food, great drinks, and super reasonable pricing (~$25 per person for food + drink). Highly recommend checking them out on a Tuesday!

The menu was pretty cool as they have something different per day. We were able to stumble on their burger day. There was a variety of different burgers and we ordered the mushroom swiss and their bacon and egg burger. I definitely love a runny egg in my burger!! We also got a kids cheeseburger. All burgers came with fries. They'll give you a buzzer after you order so you can hang out at the beach or at the seating area near the restaurant. The food came out quick, there wasn't to many people at the time. The fries were crispy and the burgers looked stacked! Mushroom swiss is my go to and the mushrooms were cooked perfectly with the swiss cheese melted on top. The other burger with the bacon and egg was d'lish!! Staff are friendly and were able to answer my questions after the menu. Love the vibe with the palm trees and outdoor lights. We can during sunset and the golden hour loved great especially with the good food we're eating!

Had some family visiting and took them here for dinner. We were a group of 7, so I tried to call…read moreand make reservations. However, they told me they don't take reservations and to just walk in. Well, we got there and had to wait 58 minutes before we got seated. Pro tip: just have them put you down on the list. Don't listen about not taking reservations for large parties. I found out after that a group of 8 got reservations for 6:30 so I was quite unhappy about that. It didn't help that there was a table with 3 people who were there since 3pm (it was already 7:58 at this point) who were still occupying the tables and the staff couldn't make them leave. They eventually moved them to another smaller table, but they could have done that sooner, just saying. Not the restaurant's complete fault, people can be extremely inconsiderate but there maybe should be a system for dealing with these types of situations. All they had were empty bottles, they were not ordering anything. Anyway, we finally got seated, and as expected, the food didn't disappoint. We got the Tasty Chicken (always a must), boneless kalbi (super tender and flavorful), loco moco (one of the best on the island) and oxtail soup (theirs is pretty solid). We also got pumpkin crunch, strawberry crunch, and cream cheese brownie. Everything was amazing as usual and they all said it was the best food they had on-island during their trip. The food was worth the wait, but, that wait could've truly been avoided. It's not somewhere you take a first date unless you are bowling because it is super loud. It is located in an out of the way, not really scenic spot. Parking can be a bear. But it remains to be one of those tried and true "local" spots that never fail to please. *Rating is solely for the food and reliability of the excellent flavors and quality of the food

Tried the honey butter chicken & waffles, loco moco and churro waffles on our way to the airport…read more My older son found this place and we couldn't be more delighted that this was our last meal in O'ahu. My personal favorite was the honey butter chicken and waffles. That chicken was so well marinated and fried to perfection. I saw a news story on the wall that the owner had worked at Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffles. We've been to Roscoe's and this place's chicken was much better. The skin was perfectly crisp and the honey butter sauce was only slightly sweet which added a bit of flavor but did not overwhelm you with sweetness. My kids ate up the chicken meat and I was happy to enjoy the crisp chicken skin by itself. My wife also really enjoyed the waffles and found them to be quite flavorful, again preferring them over what you would get at Roscoe's. The gravy on the loco moco was fantastic and perfectly paired with the rice. My son ordered the churro waffles and was happy with his selection. For me, though, I dream of that crisp chicken skin. I've been there three times, and every single time, the same cashier, has been very unfriendly/unpleasant. During my most recent visit, they didn't provide my mom and I utensils - which is fine, things happen. So I went up to the cashier and asked "Sorry, may I have utensils please?" Then he responded with "Excuse me?!" Like I bothered him.....then his coworker responded on behalf of him and said "she needs utensils (turns to me) sorry bout that." I am all about being understanding but if they're not welcoming/seems bothered/unfriendly every.single.time, then I would prefer to take my business somewhere else. It's a bummer because their food is good consistent.
